Brunch
A largely al-fresco space at The Foothills with rustic wooden crate-like furniture and random sofa chairs, it is comfort dining in your flip-flops and shorts. Offering brunch daily, the extensive menu includes Pancakes, Pot Pies, Thai Kampung Chicken Wings and the usual suspects. Do not leave before you try one of their lush and decadent layered cakes with exotic flavours like Spiced Apple Cake or Green Tea Praline. There is no denying you will be spoilt for choice with the wide selection available on display.
Common Man Coffee Roasters ups the ante by pulling out the big guns, bringing together Spa Esprit Group, Harry Grover from 40 Hands and Five Senses Coffee (Australia) for the trendiest concept cafe of the season. CMCR sets itself apart from the rest by serving up a bevy of Middle-Eastern influenced all-day-breakfast items. We insist you try the Organic Eggs Benedict which comes with beautifully tender braised ox cheeks. Just come prepared to spend a little more than a common man would for a meal.
These stuffed French toast with berries and mascarpone is a sweet treat coated in cornflakes and doused in chocolate sauce. At $18 it is rather pricey, but it is a great option when at MBS, and makes up for it in decadence. Photo by Daniel Food Diary.
The food and coffee here is awesome. Enough said.
This place is a hidden gem in the East. Their earl grey cake goes really well with their coffees.
This is my go-to place for my waffles and magic fix.
They serve yummy and pretty desserts. Their barista does some really awesome latte art too.
It can be an indicator that you're not enjoying work and weekend well. I hope not as I enjoyed mine well, and anticipating the next weekend fun to come. This is the Beastly poached egg from the pulled pork hash I had on Sunday. Need to go back to The Beast soon.
