Opening along Bukit Pasoh Road, Boca serves authentic Portugese fare in a warm, stylish setting. Be welcomed into the three-storey shophouse by flights of Andorinha (swallows) which commemorate the spirit of returning home, and make yourself comfrotable in this stylish, warm space. Order the Prato de Salgadinhos Mistos, which is their platter of petiscos (the Portugese equivalent of tapas) and go for the super-comforting Açorda de Bacalhau (congee-esque bread with salted cod), and the Chouriço em Chamas (chorizo flame-grilled in brandy). End the evening with the original Portuguese Egg Tart, served with a liberal sprinkling of cinnamon and icing sugar as they should be. Sounds like an amazing date night, no?
Joining the cluster of eateries opposite Sembawang Shopping Centre (which currently includes RoyceMary Cafe, Mootime and the famous Sembawang White Bee Hoon) is Baker's Brew Studio, a baking studio-cum-cafe concept. There is no partition between the baking kitchen and the seating area, so if you visit at the right time, you will get to observe the baking process and grab piping hot bakes fresh out of the oven! There is no fixed menu per se — the bakers let their creativity and inspiration dictate what rolls out daily. Past bakes include Earl Grey Lavender and Red Velvet cakes, Paddlepop and Japanese Cheesecakes, with many flavours yet to come. Try to catch their Raspberry Swirl and Carrot Cake!
Or else it would be been wonderful! Hehe would look forward to the another day for their Mua Chee waffles! The mua chee is actually filled in every small part of the waffles which makes it more chewy and soft! Miss it so so much! Fyi, dazzling cafe will be opening on the 18th April 2015 from 12-8 pm daily at Capitol which is near raffles city shopping centre! #dazzlingcafesg #DAZZLINGXLRB #dazzlingcafe #burpple
Fluffy waffles that satisfies mummy's taste buds and a cute panda for a happy midweek!
Raspberry Cake w Pecans (I think). Not too sweet, not too sour, perfect with tea on a rainy weather! 😊 Chanced upon this small little place while heading for breakfast.
The illusive pistachio and Pandan lava cake which I had to endure a whole night of mediocre food tasting to get to. Was it worth the wait? Apparently not. Mine came raw with dense collapsed innards and flanked by a scoop of pandan ice cream that melted way too easily. Pistachios added a nice floral balance to the dish but we're an unnecessary cost addition given that most palates did not pick it up.
Everton Creamery, the newest entry in the buzzy Everton Park neighbourhood, serves a variety of gelatos to help you beat the ever-present Singapore heat. The more popular flavours include Banana Walnut, Mango Pineapple and Nocciolone (Hazelnut), but we say go for their Matcha — which uses pumpkin seeds for a truly unique crunch factor — or their unbelievably nutty Pistachio.
Situated within Burlington Square, Yoğart is the newest kid on the yogurt block. Instead of just offering the usual yogurt with various sauces and toppings, this place offers yoghurt popsicles & waffles as well. Go for their Yuzu Explosion yogurt popsicle, or satisfy your Llao Llao cravings with the Sanum-esque Yogurt Bliss ($6.20) — yogurt with 3 fresh fruits toppings, 1 crunch and 1 sauce. Best to get your yogurt to go, as Yoğart has limited seating!
