Try the red bean injeolmi (peanut powder) with some hot matcha latte. Real comfort food.
The shaved ice is as smooth as snow or maybe talcum powder (not edible FYI). Learn how to do it the Korean way! Stir everything up so the injeolmi melts together into a delicious peanut butter like mixture with red bean and mochi balls. Try not to make a mess like I did. 😅

Hanbing Cafe also serves hot food and snacks like tteokbokki and dumplings.
Food: 7/10 Price: 6/10 (RM 24. I am usually not keen with bingsu prices. But it is an average price for a Korean dessert)

Yes you heard me. The special and one of a kind Earl Grey Ice cream!
The Owls cafe has been very popular with their "Rebecca" waffles especially because of the earl grey ice cream. I don't deny that the ice cream is amazing. It matches very well with the waffle combination. I mean, why not. Waffles are meant to have with tea. We also love having waffles with ice cream. So a genius at The Owls Cafe decided to combine them all together and voila! The Rebecca is born and has satisfied us dessert lovers ever since.
Great for a hot weather if you want some comfort food but not too heavy of a ice cream.
Did I mention how cute their teapot and teacups are? They are owls! So unique and cute. Hopefully on my next trip I'll remember to order their tea and enjoy it with Rebecca.
Foo: 9/10 Price: 7/10 (RM 18 - rather affordable for such a unique waffle (not like your usual hash-shaped waffle) and ice cream, even compared to so many overpriced usual shaped and heavy waffles.)

Visited during the mid-week where there was a buy two, free for the cheaper one. So the sweet tooth slash greedy me just had to order two (well it's free. So why not!) Triple Berry Bingsu was a favourite of the cashier, nice patient guy at the counter.
Mango cheesecake Bingsu was a pure indulgence, with snow like texture shaved ice with some milk and mango syrup with it. Cubed mangoes and cheesecakes (that can be bought by its slice at the counter) served on top and some lovely raisins that gave some delicious chewy sweetness. The cheesecake was a little too hard though. Crust was too hard to cut through. Cheesecake was at least manageable but still hard 😅 Triple berries Bingsu was sort of the lighter and "healthier" choice (but not really. Still loads of sugary stuff hidden in the shaved ice and syrup drizzled on top). It was indeed delicious. I'm glad I ordered both! Sweet blueberries and strawberries with vanilla ice cream. Simple and nice!
Personally prefer this then Cafe Bene.
Food: 9/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 17.90 for triple berries; RM 16.90 for mango cheesecake - free for my second order!)

Cool presentation but the dry ice effect dies off in a minute.
Not your average vanilla/milk softserve ice cream but it has some cereal taste to it. Quite like a delicious creamy & frozen nestum. Texture of the ice cream is so smooth! The cereals doesn't bother you at all. It just adds great addictive ice cream effect. Hehehe
CHURROS! The churros were delicious! I recommend this topping if you can't decide on their variations because they have the best churros I've tasted. Devour it with softsrve of your choice. YUM!
Next up is the deep chocolate with truffles. So good! Rich and chocolatey. Definitely a go to for chocolate soft serve ice cream. Chocolate bittersweet goodness. And the truffle definitely tastes like the ones in London that I missed dearly! So much bittersweet goodness. If you are a chocolate lover, I recommend this delicious dessert to you! Where else would you find chocolate soft serve as good as this?
The chocolate can be a little filling and not as "light" as you dig in especially if you ordered this combination (chocolate overkill). But it's nice when you share it with someone and wash it down with some free water next to the counter.
Food: 8/10 Price: 6/10 (RM 11 - cereal milk churros, RM 12 - chocolate truffles; serving size was much more generous than Milkcow, although it was a little deceiving to have such a big cup of dry ice and a smaller one on top for the ice cream)

Mission Verdict: 1/3 woohoo! Best tasting soft serve ever! Call me biased but this was my first visit and I already know it's very different from McD. I don't really like comparing with the RM 1 sundae anyway because it's a good pick me up on desperate days. But I will not say softsrve is the "expensive McD". A very far fetched statement. It's like comparing ais kacang and korean bingsu. Different lahh.

My favourite dessert among all the desserts on the menu. Although I would love to try their Chocolate fondant, it was unavailable that night. Sigh 😔 Smooth white chocolate mouse. Not incredibly thick nor sweet. All balanced with great techniques. I can even say it beats the mouse I had in Paris. Kudos Roost!

Liquorice ice cream is the bomb!! Complements the White mouse perfectly. Definitely should have them together. Ice cream tastes sweet and alcoholic once it enters your mouth but a bittersweet taste slips in when the ice cream melt in your mouth. So much mouth-gasm right there.
It's quite hard for me to find delicious white chocolate desserts because they are always incredibly sweet. But Roost has broke the curse. 😁 Food: 8/10 Price: 7/10 (RM 20 - plated desserts at this quality and price is very worth paying for)

Sweetness was just right. A hint of coconut flavour which made this dessert quite tropical like. Drizzled with a sauce they call "calamansi coulis". Which I thought was passion fruit but it's quite like that with citrusy/lime sourness from the calamansi fruit - Philipine Lime.
We were pleasantly delighted and biased by this dessert because it was so delicious! It came to a close second behind my favourite white mouse. Really happy with the balance of flavour!
Food: 8/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 20 - I'm convinced Roost plated desserts are the most worth it for your value of money!)

Every time I come here, it's always packed with people and their desserts run out fast too.

Clockwise: Chicken nugget cutlet, sweet chinese pancake, egg shaped meat ball, savory chinese pancake, mixed fruit shaved ice, Mango Loh, ginkgo nut barley and steamed radish cake.
First, the mango loh aka shaved iced with mango sago purée and chunks of mango. This is my MUST TRY MUST ORDER dessert. It's amazing. The purée isn't too sweet. It's enough to cover all the ice, there's some at the bottom too! Cold and satisfying. They have other flavours too. Like strawberry, kiwi, red bean(?) and etc. Quite big portion too!

Next, steamed radish cake. Steamed ones are not common as they are always fried with veggies or by itself. So it's a double thumbs up for me here. You can taste the radish perfectly and aroma of dried shrimps too. Dip it with some chilly paste/sambal, you'll have a party in your mouth. I really love the steamed one.
Third, chinese pancakes. Comes in sweet and savory, try both! The sweet goes well with their hot desserts/tong sui or just by itself! Crispy on the outside, sweet on the inside. The savory is like a crispier and square Korean pancake.
Fourth, ginkgo barley and red bean. The ginkgo dessert is not so visible here. It's behind the mango loh. It's sweet enough with barley taste and ginkgo nuts. Better than Dragon-I. They ran out of red bean which would have went super well with the sweet pancakes. Told you they'd run out of desserts fast!

The chicken cutlet was nothing special. Just pure grease. The mixed fruit shaved ice tasted OKAY. Nothing special. The ice is just a little sour from lime juice. The egg shaped meatball is not bad too. The staffs would recommend it. Worth a try! But it's just not my cup of tea.
Food: 9/10 Price: 7/10 (Quite reasonable but if you order a lot it does adds up. Just like dim sum. My bill came up to RM 60+. Mango Loh costs RM 10.90 but I can't remember the rest.)

Had coffee and pastries at YEAST! I have a soft spot for this divine place. I like the environment and food here. Who doesn't like pastries/bread aka dessert and coffee!
Clockwise: Hazelnut latte, Valhorna Chocolate Mocha, Pain Au chocolat, two Hazelnut Cappuccino and Tutti Fruity tart.
I had a taste of everything. But my coffee was the hazelnut cappuccino. It's amazing! So tasty. Fell in love with the taste. Definitely my must have drink everytime I visit yeast now! Mocha didn't taste so good. The chocolate was too thick and you'll get sick of it after half a glass. No art too :( Their coffee is just win! Latte and cappuccino. Both amazing. Great balance. I love how less acidic the coffee is. 😊

Tutti fruity tart. GET IT. MUST HAVE. OMG the fruit is amazing, not too sweet. Tart is great! Ah I can have it all by myself. A great high tea option.
Chocolate croissant/Pain Au Chocolat. So good! Very light puff pastry. Chocolate is chocolate. Which is delicious. Lol. But I would prefer if the pastry was more flaky.
Food: 8/10 Price: 6/10 (RM 65++ overall. Yes a very expensive place. Good place for nice treat for brunch and high tea though).

It's so hard to find something so coconutty and good. I've tried some coconut ice cream and they're just very mild and the coconut taste is just covered by the cream.
BUT THIS IS DIFFERENT! Recommended on EatDrinkKL and also saw this before every time I visit WAW restaurant.
The ice cream is so creamy and smooth, I can taste the coconut really nicely. I ordered their "signature" where 4 scoops are served in a coconut husk with 3 toppings of your choice and coconut flakes. Yumm!
Sorry @insidescoopkl! You lost to this.
Food: 8/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 7.90 for the signature - 4 scoops. Scoops are rather small though! RM 1.90 for single scoop with/without cone)

You will want to eat this. It's so beautiful. A bit pricey though. RM 30. But quality ice cream and delicious caramelised bananas! ☺️
