Chinese Chow
Melt in the mouth slab of pork belly simmered in a sweet, savoury and umami broth stuffed in between warm, fluffy buns. ❤️ I'd come here just for this!
While the roasted meats' reign here is no question (go team Toro Char Siew 🙌🏼), this humble plate of incredibly springy noodles slicked in fragrant ginger scallion oil deserves a mention too. 👅💦 Maybe I'm biased, but I'm a sucker for noodles with such hard-to-find texture and I have a weakness for anything with ginger scallion sauce! 💚 Make sure you get this with your roast of choice! 🍜
p.s. It might be worth mentioning that there were some who tried this the other day and tasted a very strong alkaline taste. Ours was perfectly fine though. Fingers crossed you get a good batch!
Love durian sticky rice rolls from Hong Kong-style dessert shops? These bite-sized balls wrapped by a thin glutinous rice flour skin filled with luscious durian pulp are so much better! . 😍 Love how it was chilled, not frozen or halfway through defrosting. A great way to end a meal for durian lovers!
Available during lunch and dinner.
What’s a dim sum sesh without this oozetastic bao! Super flowy filling and a good balance between sweet and savoury. 👌🏼
Can’t go wrong with this fluffy block of steamed cake from the Dim Sum Menu (lunch only) — not too sweet and uber pillowy!
Miss Hong Kong’s braised beef brisket with super boing boing noodles? Get your fix sorted here!
Not the cheapest but you’ll get your money’s worth with that super generous pile of fork-tender beef and melt-in-the-mouth tendon pieces. So satisfying! 😍
While most places would just chuck this in the bin or use it in stocks, they season and batter chicken joints/soft bones here and transform them into moreish morsels sprinkled with minced garlic (with a teenie weenie bit of chopped chilli). Couldn’t stop munching on these crunchy, addictive bites!
The chilli crab dumpling is essentially a xiao long bao with the addition of shredded crab. The usual savoury explosion of juices is mildly tinged with chilli oil, but is not spicy at all. I still like the original one more.
One of the few places where you can still find General Tso's Chicken, and a pretty good rendition if I may add!
This dish is inspired by the imperial concubine Yang Gui Fen who loved lychees so much the emperor commissioned his officials to bring them from the south so she can enjoy them all year long. Very refreshing and every spoonful leaves you wanting more.
Love how beautifully plated this plate of tender lobster chunks on that bed of luscious egg white garnished with conpoy. It tastes as exquisite as it looks!
Inspired by the story of Emperor Qianlong's encounter with a 99-year old lady at the beach who looked youthful. Her secret? Drinking abalone and sea cucumber wine daily. 👍
