"Wokhei"! of course as it is the #epitome of it.

The gravy was sweet with a distinctive flavor of prawn jus which was soaked up by the beehoon. The green chilli by the side was a better pairing as it had a hint of tangy notes. Most importantly, was there wokhei?? The answer is , I would not walloped everything if there was none and indeed, I finished it.

Call me crazy but I craved for a cup of dark roasted mojo after this. Wokhei and smoky blends beautifully for that ultimate #foodgasm

Not before "huffing and puffing" our way from the mrt to the destination.

Trying out the brunch menu. Among the three items, the aussie brekkie, spicy calabrian and parma ham, the calabrian had a more pronounced flavor as similarly echoed by my foodie friends. Baked in a petite pan, buried beneath are minced pork, sausage and spicy tomato concasse. A croissant by the side for dunking. I personally felt that the thick toast is more suited to absorb the sauces. The other two items were not what we expect it to be.

This place is cozy but I find it abit out of the way if one does not drive. My advice is to grab there as it is about a 15 min walk from Novena mrt.

Spoilt for choice but sometimes some of the good ones or under the radar lies inconspicuously.

Crispy noodles topped with sliced beef. Melty beef smothered with a hint of wokhei, crunchy textures and a sweet savory brown gravy. Have it with cut chilli padi and "boom"! So good!!

Fresh, juicy, firm and sweet crustaceans. Noodles embraced by homemade spicy chilli which might just cause a teardrop or two.... If soupy is your thing, go for the brothy version that bears an umami mouthfeel.

Be prepared to queue. By 11am, there was already a long line. This is a medium bowl ($6) with 4 prawns and little noodles.. If you are a big eater, my advice is to order the biggest bowl ($8).

Chef Asai @asaimasashi819 @binchosg wowed us with this sexy golden creation. A sight to behold. A taste to bestow upon uni lovers. All the components dunked in and "uni-fied".

And what becomes of the remaining broth? Chef Asai then splosh a bowl of japanese rice and lovingly mix in with the broth. Yup yup.... uni rice!! Topped with fresh uni. (Swipe right to see). Creamy, umami and addictive!! What you get? "Uni-gasm"!

Lobster stew rice (barley, sorghum and black rice). Half grilled lobster with a firm umami flesh. An explosion of rich addictive flavors from the creamy butter sauce, the subtle heat of the chilli padis and the crunchy textures of the sorghum. The nuttyness and woodyness of the oyster mushroom just about brought a gasp from my palate. This was exceptionally good.

Nasi ambeng. Bearing a fiery appearance, we thought it will taste just as fiery. Some were sweet and some with a tiny hint of spicyness. I am a tad disappointed as I would prefer at least two out of the eight dishes to deliver a fiery kick and a balance of spicy and sweet.

Perhaps the mildness of chilli is catered to those who do not like it hot. It was satisfying but yet not satisfied.

The breath of the wok is #epitome of a yummy horfun. The way the kway teow with a tinge of charredness, clumped together is testament of it being wok fried. The one word I uttered after my first slurp... "wooo". No reason to say more.

@faai.di is a new concept by Ka Soh. Other offerings include the prawn noodle soup with a broth that was sweet and atad creamy. A must try is the steamed lup cheong chicken.
