The items on the toast menu is available all-day as ala-carte, but the Chiak Toast Set is only available for breakfast before 11.30am. Coming in a couple of flavours, I have opted for the Black Sesame Butter and Vanilla Custard Toast; dark, roasty flavours with a little sweetness and Vanilla aroma running within spread on toasted wholemeal bread. Thought that the vanilla does overwhelm the sesame a little, but it is still a pretty delicious treat overall. The set also comes with coffee (they serve local Kopi/Kopi O/Kopi C and Teh variants) which is pretty decent coming from a outfit like them.
Chiak is located at 40 Pasir Panjang Road, Mapletree Business City, #01-237, Singapore 117383.
Nicely charred toast with that slab of butter and Hainanese kaya paired with a "gao" kopi peng. This place exudes the old school vibes and is one of the last remaining traditional coffeeshops in Singapore. Best to pay the iconic uncle in singlet and pajamas pants a visit soon before he retires and this place gets reclaimed back by the government.
