Mutton was very succulent. I bet thats why i had to pay $15 for this. Quite steep for a mutton dum biryani.
The rice flavours just right and its grainy and wasnt too dry. i could finish the whole plate by myself and did not end up feeling too savoury. The chicken on the other hand was a little dry but still tasty. Every biryani looks the same when its served. The difference is there is an egg for chicken and not the mutton. A little pricey though, $8.50 for the portion and taste. I guess you either like dum or not like it. Im for the latter. Might consider revisiting it.
Fish head curry - red snapper at $22 for a small size. Pretty affordable and reasonable. Their lady fingers are fresh and the pineapple cubes are substantially big. Great to share between two, together with briyani rice at $4 each, free flow, adding on 2 vegetable side dishes. Ice water is complimentary as well. Briyani rice goes well with the curry, as curry is salty and sourish while the rice is more bland to taste. They complement each other.
Fish head deluxe, small size @ $23.80. More than enough for two, just nice for 3 pax. The curry taste is a combination of salty and sourish. Not spicy. The ingredients are really fresh, fleshy and generous. Vegetables included are tomatoes, brinjals, lady fingers and spring onion.
Despite my previous review on their boneless mutton briyani being the best, the palak paneer didn't quite serve up to its briyani. The taste is still lacking quite a bit. The ones at Little India are much better.. one dish i wouldn't recommend here though. ($6.50)
My favourite briyani of all times. One meat, briyani rice and one vegetable at $7.50. Plus gst. Their boneless mutton is still the best. The sauce is just right, not too watery, the spicy level is just right for me as well. The meat and curry on the side goes very well with the briyani rice which is well-cooked too. The rice is crisp, and dry enough to go with the sauce and also fragrant. There are several choices for vegetable as well - cucumber and pineapple, cabbage, lady fingers, and lastly peas. Ice water charges at $0.30. I do prefer this outlet to the one at northpoint. There is a slight difference in the briyani rice.
If your meal is less than $20 and your payment mode is by card, there are addtl charges. Be sure to bring cash if you are spending less than $20.
