Bye Meat! Bye Dairy!
[Vegetarian] So when you're eating vegetarian, does that count as eating grass? š¬ā ā

Back with a new post, and it's about Atmos Burger-BCC Tea Studio! They do some hearty vegetarian burgers, carving itself out a space in the local sphere of vegetarian fast food. ā ā

The buns, boasting a smooth buttered, golden-brown exterior, were pillowy. Remarkable to sink your teeth into together with the layers of meatless patty and veggies. ā ā
ā ā
The curly fries were something to note as well - each piece was endowed with a detectable zing of spiciness, accentuated by smatterings of salt and other seasonings.ā ā

It held its own and proved its worth by being more than just an insipid sidekick. It was the first time in a while that I was truly intrigued by something as simple as fries. š¤¤ā ā

Worth highlighting also that the portions were generous - it's what fast food restaurants' Large Fries wish to look like, if you ask me! (7.6/10)ā
Ever since Iād been converted to an acai addict, Iāve found myself going back for a bowl once every week. Itās just so good in taste and it makes me feel better especially with the amount of fruits and health benefits that Iām gaining. š
Haakonās Cacao Bliss Bowl was pretty alright - it got a little strange texturally when I was close to finishing it due to the chia seeds (correct me if I misidentified). I have nothing against them, I just feel that the combination of cocoa and chia seeds didnāt really gel well for me.
Still, you can bet I downed this whole thing unabashedly, especially since I had it on one of those Friday night-ins! š¤£
[Vegan-Friendly] Brownice is a restaurant that promises on 100% vegan food, which makes it quite a rare find in Singapore. Right outside their doorstep, you will be able to see a display of several flavours of ice-creams, which looks pretty enticing. And when you have a look at their menu, you might just be surprised to find that thereās a number of dishes that donāt conform to the idea that vegan = vegetables. Vegan pizzas, pastas, risottos and then some - these are among the things Iāve always hoped to find in this nation, despite not being a vegan myself.
Unfortunately, I had dinner before this, so I went with their Waffles w/ Ice Cream ($8). I didn't find out what the batter and the oscillating drizzle of chocolate ganache were made of, but I do know that they were decent. The wafflesā crust felt a little too hard though and it was too thin on the inside. It was quite a work to down this one, making it rather off-putting. But on the upside, they do have that gorgeous, signature aroma of a bread that has undergone Maillardās Reaction; and theyāre guilt-free! šš
However, as a whole, the thing that takes the crown of victory here is none other thanā¦well, the crowning piece - their hazelnut ice-cream, named āHi Hazel, Iām Nuts About You'. Their ice-creams are made with organic brown rice milk, evaporated cane juice, giving them a creamy, yet light, and a midlly sticky texture. They contain less than 3% fats and boast a calorie count of 80 ā 140 kcal. per scoop! š And theyāre surprisingly flavourful, no matter which one you go for - youāll immediately get a burst of flavour upon ingestion. Personally, this is a guilty pleasure that is worth trading off the regular ice-cream for.
Perhaps next time, Iāll get two scoops instead of one. And maybe with a brownie instead. I reckon it should be good, but weāll see when I come back again soon! (6.8/10)
