Sweet Afters
Chef's interpretation of the local ondeh ondeh, consisting of coconut foam, kaya ice cream, pandan glutinous rice cake and gula melaka. It was just right, not very sweet blending perfectly towards the end of great night (S$ 11)
The moment I saw the shop I was super curious and immediately went for it. The concept of the main attraction of the shop, “The Chimney Cone” is developed in Hungary and since has been passed on. It goes like this - Sweet dough circles around like a cone, with a hollow in the middle (they are perfectly crisp on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside, which makes for a delectable snack) and the hollow centre is filled with either ice-cream or cream depending on your choice. I went for the one filled with vanilla gelato, “Chimney King” as it seemed the most appealing. It came topped with nuts, two brownie chunks, salted caramel and chocolate drizzle. The ensemble was a perfect one and tasted equally good. However, one should be very careful as the ice cream melts out before you can finish it and unfortunately it created a mess for me. However, I loved it and will be more careful next time 😁. (SGD 8.90)
Mango Pudding served chilled is perfect to beat the heat and the mangos used are freshly imported from Thailand for the sole purpose of creating this gem. Made with pure mango flesh, the select variety makes for a luscious pudding, with a heady aroma of freshly peeled mango.
It is baked, made with a crust usually made of shortcrust pastry, lemon custard filling and a fluffy meringue topping. It’s quite fresh and serves as a good plate of dessert after a good fulfilling meal.
It seems fancy but I was not that impressed with the taste at all. The donut which is the base is a Kenyan donut which was good, but the Soft serve spoiled it all for me. It was chocolate and didn’t go with it at all. They keep on changing the flavour of the soft serve, so can’t exactly say how much the other flavours would justify it (10 SGD)
It brings along a concoction of strawberry jelly, custard fresh cream, strawberry confiture, fresh cream and strawberry sauce all in one convenient cup. Fresh flavorsome Japanese Strawberries on the top adds to the entire blissful experience.
Pavlova with Lemon Curd, Pasionfruit, Jam, Mango & Basil. The combination looked quite confusing but since it was the chefs recommendation, thought of giving it a go. Surprisingly, it tasted quite good as I thought it might be abit too sweet given that it's Pavlova but with the other sourish stuff to compliment the sweetness, overall it's great.
Hard Rock Cafe serves the best brownie sundae in town, with large portions arriving in a bowl filled with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge on a dense chocolate brownie, topped with chopped walnuts, chocolate sprinkles, fresh whipped cream and a cherry. It’s just organismic and totally worth it. Easily serves two people, however a third can join too.
The names itself is very appealing and totally justifies the presentation. It is inspired by the classic combination of peanut butter and jelly and is recreated with biscuit tuiles and strawberry chocolate jelly and passionfruit caramel cream paired with Peanut Butter Crunch ice cream and plated on a creative burst of chocolate paints. However, the taste was not that satisfactory in comparison to the presentation. It could have been better. Comes with a heavy price tag of S$ 21.90.
If you love almond, this is absolutely for you.
The boiled milk gives a rather long-lasting milky taste in your mouth. If you aren't really a fan of milk, the almond will be there to add on texture and extra nutty taste to the milk!
The pic doesn’t justify it, though the quality is utterly telling. Its velvety smooth creaminess provides a pleasant mouthfeel, with interesting tinge of saltiness from the cheese. This is made using premium ingredients such as Jersey Milk, cream cheese and gouda cheese from Hokkaido. Just what you need on a sunny afternoon.
Serves the best pancakes in Singapore. They are originally from “Hawaii”, the first thing that attracted me to this, and btw they didn’t disappoint, the freshly prepared strawberry cream topped over the fluffy and soft pancakes 🥞, just the thing you need to end a good day. Moreover they have variety of flavours to top it with which is an added bonus (I just loved the coconut sauce and became
an instant fan).
