The BBQ Short Ribs is really flavourful and tender with a sizeable portion of grilled asparagus.
The cuts of beef at Fat Belly are unheard of (for me) but are richly marbled with beefy flavor. Both the Flat Iron Steak and Onglet Steak are recommended but go for the Onglet one if you like your steak to be real tender. More often than not, I find that eating a piece of steak is like an exercise session for the jaw. However, I truly enjoyed the Onglet steak at Fat Belly; it was like a cheat day for my jaw!
One side-dish that I ordered was Creamed Kale, which was a VERY pleasant surprise! It is basically fresh and crispy kale coated with goodness of liquid cheese/milk! Even my friend who isn't a fan of vegetable AND cheese couldn't stop munching on it! Definitely a must-try if you are keen on tasting innovative dishes.
There are 2 level in the restaurant and the first level was almost filled by the time I arrived. Level 1 has a more buzzing vibe with constant movement of customers in and out of the restaurant while level 2 give off a laid-back atmosphere, very good for group gatherings and catch-up sessions. The staffs are also very welcoming, polite and attentive; impeccable service.
Personally, buffalo wings are usually my to-go appetizer but I can't take food that are too spicy. Hence, I am pleasantly surprised when their buffalo wings are marinated with mild spiciness. Additionally, to satisfied individuals with greater craving for spice, the wings are served with spicy chili sauce at the side. I tried once and it is good but I do not want my tongue to go numb before I get to the main dish!
I had grain-fed ribeye for the main after seeking advice from the staff. I really wanted a steak that is more tender than chewy (blame it on the braces). And hooray, the 200g grain-fed ribeye exceed my expectations of tenderness. The steak was VERY, VERY juicy and cooked perfectly. Honestly, it is possible to eat the steak even without the sauce and it wouldn't even be dry. Before I stepped out of the restaurant, I decided to pledge my loyalty to grain-fed steak (or maybe to Meat N Chill). I'm definitely coming back for more dosage of their meat!
