New Head Chef and a new Japanese-Italian menu, and this beef tartare uses Miyazaki beef, topped along with crispy fried Japanese leek. The beef is quite well-marinated and flavourful after mixing it with the quail egg!

Hai Tien Lo has quite a number of set menus for different party sizes this year, have you decided where to go for your reunion dinner?

The first cafe we checked out this year, and it is a promising one. We checked out Baristart Coffee which officially opened at Tras Street today. The brand hails from Hokkaido and this is their first overseas outlet!

Here’s the Shiro Kuma Hokkaido Shaved Ice, one of the desserts on the menu (though the coffee is the other highlight). Go easy on the syrup if you prefer it to be less sweet, otherwise the milk ice cream should impress, made from a special Brown Jersey cows’ milk!

It is a Duo of Deep-fried Pork Knuckle and Slow-baked Honey Butter Ribs as part of the CNY specials this year, available as a takeaway at Min Jiang @GoodWoodParkHotelSG. We love the crispy pork knuckle, which is served with homemade pickled cabbage too!

We love this Cheese Baked Mentaiko King Prawn from Jumbo Seafood’s newest outlet in town at Ion Orchard! Well-balanced flavours there with the fresh prawn, and it’s great to enjoy the dish without dirtying our hands.

We checked it the revamped MO Bar recently, and here’s the Mother of dragon drink, inspired by Vietnam’s Halong Bay! Other than the bold cocktails, there are some good bar bites on the menu like this Japanese Somen Noodles which we wouldn’t mind having for supper now.

The litmus test is always the viscosity of the lava flow, and this certainly makes the cut. Not too sweet, and comes in three buns per basket.

There will be a 50% off this 19 and 20 January at the Wisma outlet, details in our previous post!

Meet the two months old @Preludio.SG at Frasers Tower.

This is one of the fun dish in the 8-course degustation menu, the Peek-a-boo is a beautiful surprise. The ingredients beneath are covered completely by the white rice cracker, where you get a delicious mix of Chinese and Jerusalem artichoke on a bed of egg yolk emulsion with subtle hints of yuzu flavour.
