The rice itself is also nicely seasoned, though I did find it a little too mushy for my liking. If spice is your thing and this doesnt satisfy you, feel free to add in that small saucer of chilli which I found quite potent.

Didn't need to think twice before ordering this and I'm glad to say that I have no regrets at all! The pufflet is dusted generously in matcha powder and theres also matcha sauce served at the side, all of which served to heighten the intensity of the matcha experience. The pufflet was served hot and crisp, and the insides were moist, dense and surprised me with the strong bittersweet notes of matcha! The pufflet's also served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream so if your tastebuds are hankering for something sweeter, pair it with the pufflet!

You can choose up to 2 additions to your noodles, which i opted for the roast duck and steamed dumplings. Quite an underwhelming dish though, with the noodles being limp and missing any eggy fragrance. Dumplings and duck were pretty average too.

Perhaps its just me, but my tastebuds did not quite agree with the savoury ham in combination with the otherwise sweet plate.

Loved the pillowy soft and buttery brioche bread though, which was warm and simply comforting together with the scoop of cold vanilla ice cream, though the ice cream was unfortunately a little icy.

These Suji Cookies are unlike the ones I usually have during chinese new year. They were pretty huge, around half the size of my palm and so I was expecting it to be really heavy but I was quite surprised when I bit into one and the insides were hollow! I actually preferred it like that though! They tasted really good too, crisp, buttery and crumbly and not too overwhelmingly sweet either.

Not the best picture, but there was actually quite a substantial amount of fillings in this sardine puff! The puff had a nice flaky and crisp exterior. Perhaps because its an Indian bakery, but the puff's fillings tasted strongly of spices that I couldn't quite put a finger to.🤔

The first bite was pure bliss, with the strong, buttery fragrance of the bread. However, it gets rather flat and boring to eat, and gets a tad heavy towards the end as you can see that its quite a big and thick bun. Apart from the first layer which was nicely crisp and flaky, the inside of the puff had a very dense texture, much like a prata thats exceptionally thick. That being said, this makes quite a filling breakfast for just RM 2.

Both the matcha and goma were prominent and strong, none particularly losing out/overshadowing the other. The goma was really fragrant and the layers of matcha cream, sponge and thick coat of matcha powder finishing on the cake really satisfied the matchaholic in me 😋 The cake was really smooth and light too! Best of all the price is so affordable (even by JB standards i feel). Can I have cakes of such affordability and quality everyday please? 😝

P.S. Was actually in Austin Heights area in JB yesterday and intially planned to @urbanartisan_official but unfortunately they were closed?? Why leh??They were supposed to be opened 2PM-10PM on thursdays right!!!😫 Idk but well I guess its a blessing in disguise because then I walked around and discovered this Cocorico cafe, a quiet cafe selling cakes, cookies, brownies etc! There was not a single soul when I visited and didn't hear anything about this cafe before but so glad I made the choice to give it a chance when I did?? The fried chicken was crisp and well seasoned, and kind of reminded me of kfc popcorn chicken😂
Overall the dish was a little too salty and definitely more suitable for those with heavier tastebuds.

In between the 2 sponge layers was a thin layer of raspberry jam.
The cream was light and buttery, but i felt that the entire cake lacked a certain wow factor and was rather ordinary.
The Rose/Pistachio taste did not stand out and was not as distinct and strong as i would have liked. I would've liked if the taste was infused into the cream or cake layers rather than just the flavours coming from the toppings itself.

I went for the smoked duck option and thankfully, it was not too overwhelmingly salty. I liked that the noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, and the onsen egg went quite well with the dish as a whole, though i felt that it may have resulted in the lowered spice factor of the dish which can either be good or bad depending on your personal preference.The dish was also garnished with chopped nuts, which gave a nice crunchy, contrasting texture.

First time i've had a "burger" like this and i'm glad to say that it worked pretty well for me! 😋

The unagi came with mentaiko sauce and ikura. The unagi was nicely done and the mentaiko sauce greatly complemented the unagi and the buns.

That orange coloured sauce you see there is wasabi mayo sauce, which you can dip your side of fries in, or in my case i also slathered some on my buns. The wasabi taste was barely there, though the sauce is a pretty good condiment.
