Had the Jalapeno Beef Ragu ($18.90) and I loved it! The plate was filled with salad, some mini pieces of fruits, 4 pieces of waffles with a sunny side egg atop (with a molten centre😋) and the beef ragu siting in between the waffles and generous huge pieces of tortilla chips! Love the flavours and the taste of the waffles which were airy and good even on its own; although towards the ending it got really heavy and i was struggling a bit to finish the entire plate. Special shoutout to them for making their own honey, I was never a fan of honey but I would gladly have theirs again👍

My friends had the Chili Cheese w Chicken and it was also not bad and the Guacamole which is more basic and healthier i guess. Overall not a bad place with memorable waffles and honey 🧇🍯

Went here some time back for the 1 for 1 burpple deal. Never tried German food before so why not? The interior is beautiful with three storeys; first being a drinking area, second the main dining area and third the brewery. We sat on the second floor and felt like we were on a ship. I can’t remember much about the food but I’m defiantly not cut out for German food😅 their food is definitely on the salty side and the pork knuckle despite it being huge and crunch which I appreciate, just taste too porky. The sauce that came with it was pretty bitter and overwhelming i disliked it. The sauerkraut is too much for me but hey i finally tried it.

Back again at TMBH, this time their Novena outlet. Found out they were having a weekend special of Philly Cheesesteak hence I knew I had to head down just for it! I mean how many places do you know in Singapore that does Philly Cheesesteak and pretty good bagels (had their lamb & Steak n Eggs from the Tanjong Pagar outlet awhile back and they were 👌)

So I headed down on a Sunday morning, extra early at 10am so I wouldn’t miss the bagels. Already had a queue (expected) and saw some changes to their menu. I decided to get myself the special ($14) with the all sorts bagel as well as a Warthog ($14) with additional cheddar (+$1) with a garlic bagel.

I felt like my overall experience this time was greatly affected by the fact that I ate the bagels an hour later as I had them to go hence they weren’t as fresh and hot. So i shall be slightly less stringent with my reviews.

That being said, it was overall pretty disappointing 😞 The cheesesteak’s visual was pretty meh (due to leaving it for an hour) so I wouldn’t really blame them as it is supposed to look like the picture tagged or so it seems (cr. TMBH IG) But the taste did not make up for the visual and the price tag I believe. It was nothing special and tasted more like black pepper beef that was just dry ... Maybe gotta add in other stuff together to make it better? The all sorts bagel that I got with it was pretty good though.

Moving on to the Warthog which is smoked pork belly with cucumbers, onions, coriander and Char Siew sauce. This was the more flavourful one and also too oily I have to say. The taste was not bad but felt that the Char Siew sauce did not really come through and felt the need to have an acidic component to cut through the oiliness. Gotta say the garlic bagel paired with it had the garlic seeds too burnt that it was quite bitter.

Honestly this time round, I’m not impressed but I am hopeful as this place always keeps their menus changing to bring something new and unique to the table, plus they provide excellent service 💯 I’ll be back but just not anytime soon and definitely would not make my way to wake up early on a Sunday just to get their bagels. But if I am craving for some, then yes I’ll be back 😌

Ordered platter for 2 ($90) which comes with a pickle platter, nashville fries with an add on of yuzu slaw ($4). First of all, why call it yuzu slaw when you can’t taste yuzu? 🤔 And the pickle platter is a joke; with musty jalapenos and soft cucumbers...everything seemed to have been brined by the same mixture. Cornbread was ok but the honey on top .. what is that?? 🤢 Fries was nicely seasoned but i felt like breaking my jaw eating the fries, it was super hard 😠

On the platter, 2 brisket spring rolls were given and it was ok, better with the sauce. Still bearable. 2 small portion of pork belly was a tad too soft and mushy despite the nice seasoning. The alleged favourite of many, the burnt ends pastrami was not bad but quite charred and left and undesirable burnt taste. The buffalo wings was pretty good but nothing to shout about.

Onto the major stuff, the brisket was soft. But too soft. The pork ribs was also soft to the point it was appalling to eat it due to the overly soft texture🤮 The flavour was nice though.

Moral of the story: don’t bother eating here. May sound harsh but i was expecting quality food. Extremely disappointed after looking forward to eating at one of the best barbecue place in SG but only left with regrets, despite using my Chope vouchers. Sigh...

Finally here after all the good things I’ve heard about this place. Headed down to their old outlet 2 years back and when we were there, it was closed. So am back at the new outlet trying it for the first time. That’s two years of built up expectations!

Sadly, i was extremely disappointed. Ordered the Carne Asada Burrito ($13.50) and Pescador Quesadilla ($12) which is the fish. Burrito kinda reminded me of stuff’d .. there was nothing spectacular about it despite people saying this burrito is amazing and the best in SG. Mehh no flavour at all, the beef was really tasteless and it was all mushy with no apparent taste and crunch of salsa I was hoping for. Dipping in the sauces barely salvaged the dish. Just plain bad and if i wanted burrito, I can just get it from stuff’d next time at half the price seriously.

The fish quesadilla was a tad better but too oily. It was literally dripping each time I took a bite and the greasy aftertaste was appalling. Taste was also mediocre and nothing to rave about. First and last time I’ll be back at Muchachos.

Had the Grilled Chicken ($8) some time ago that sits atop a pool of mashed potato, garden salad and garlic bread. Have to say for its price point, it is super worth it! Tender meat and generous with the serving, creamy mashed potato and flavourful bread. Also ordered the Onion Rings (not in picture) which had a generous serving and tasted good albeit a tad too oily and too much for me to finish on my own.

Only thing is it’s not that near to the MRT hence had to take a bus ride. I purposely traveled to try the recommended item and was left feeling super full. For this price point, i was satisfied and couldn’t ask for more.

Fried Chicken portion was really huge and would be best to share among 2 pax. It was definitely moist, even the breast however it was lacking in taste on its own. The hot sauce was too runny and didn’t do much to elevate the taste. Honestly was a bit of a letdown ...

The waffle that came with it was nothing spectacular and the bourbon maple syrup tasted like regular syrup with little bourbon taste honestly.

BUT i must say the star of the dish was the watermelon. ⭐️ Serves as a palate cleanser between the savoury chicken and sweet waffles which definitely is so refreshing with the striking mint taste and had a mild heat at the end with the paprika used. This is what I call taking something so simple to the next level, brilliant! 👍👍

The Mac n Cheese was so jelak and bad. Skip this. Overall, it was a very full yet not satisfying meal but the watermelon deserves a shoutout!

Another foodie that loves to eat and share all the good stuff so nobody misses out! 😊
