Complete in both taste and texture, must try for chocolate lovers!
Crisp from the base, smooth velvety chocolate mousse, spongy genoise, luscious caramel, everything is very balanced in terms of flavors too, love the quite intense chocolate that goes well with the caramel. definitely one of the best modern chocolate cakes I’ve ever had!

Prepare to be dazzled by their pastry case as everything looks so pretty and you just can’t decide which to have.
Here are the two that I decided to try out (“Bananier” was sold out :( )
Fluffy consist of white chocolate mousse, strawberry cremeux, passionfruit jelly and almond genoise (sponge cake). The white chocolate mousse had real good smooth texture and wasn’t as sweet as expected (which is perfect!) however it is too monotonous on its own. The existence of the strawberry cremeux really leveled the cake up! Love how tart and delicious the cremeux was! The almond genoise also played a good role to add some texture without diminishing ‘fluffiness’ of the cake. Indeed the ‘fluffiest’ pastry I’ve ever had 🥰

While literal ‘Es Alpukat’ consist of Avocado Juice mixed with coffee and topped chocolate condensed milk, Union’s cake consist of avocado mousse and jelly layered in between coffee sponge cakes, with coffee biscuit bottom, glazed with avocado glaze and completed with coffee crumble.
Liked how the avocado flavor stands out in the mousse since I can still taste that lil-bitter avocado flavor. The coffee sponge has notable coffee flavor and the biscuit at the bottom still has that bitter coffee powder taste. The cake truly resembles ‘Es Alpukat’ and is a must try for es alpukat lovers!
Their chocolate pudding tasted nice especially the vla 😍. Vla had the right sweetness and when the cake & pudding is drenched in it, it just makes a really good dessert!
P.s. chocolate pudding is currently only available in Union Cafe Senayan City

Tried LOTS of their choux + entremets {last picture serves for proof HAHA I’ve had more than that too} but for now I’ll just discuss their newest creation, the Honey Matcha dessert jar. I decided to try it out because they ran out of apple crumble choux; my initial target, during my visit. {i’ll visit again for those next time and on that post I will also be more specific about their other creations}
The dessert jar is IMPRESSIVE. A lot of elements are incorporated in the jar, each having their own texture and flavor.
Honey jelly, matcha cremeux, matcha chiffon crumble, Valrhona Opalys white chocolate crumble, all plays distinct roles in creating the perfect taste of this whole dessert jar.
Crunchy then smooth, unsweet then sweet; the ‘play’ that this dessert jar creates is just genius!
Totally looking forward for more flavors in their dessert jar series!

❤️ the thing I found outstanding from Dopa Dopa is how they can balance the sweetness of their gelato(s). I sampled their coconut pandan flavor which I thought would be too sweet but, it’s just gently sweet!
I really recommend their pistachio gelato! So good!
p.s. they have croissants to go with your gelato which I am very curious to try out next time

Love the pistachio tart filling, the tart base, the pistachio chantily, caramelized pistachio, custard cream, whatever is in the tart are all magnificent. Furthermore,
the strawberries blend really well to the gently sweet pistachio elements! DELICIOUS! 🍰💕

In frame is the Pandan cake, pandan sponge cakes with caramelized coconut gula melaka layer and coconut cream, then covered in crumbles. Another cake I tried is the Jagung Bakar cake and Nougat cake.
The incorporation of savory bbq corn flavor in the jagung bakar 🌽 cake is something very unique to my palate but somehow addictive (maybe micin¿ 😂)
I also tried their nougat and I LOVE their caramelized nuts.
What makes me love their cakes is that they are smaller in size so there’s more crumble to cake ratio (the smaller the volume the larger the surface are to volume ratio) and let me tell you that their crumbles, whichever flavor, is AMAZING!
From the food menu my mom ordered Bubur Ayam and Tahu Lada Garam
Bubur Ayam 🍲 was good, the only thing I would like to suggest is that the kerupuk and emping (crackers) should really be put seperately so it won’t get soggy before we eat it.
Tahu Lada Garam had great flavors but I’d like to see more tofu because when you bite through it it’s 50% batter.
Conclusion: I LOVE 💕 this place and would definitely come back to try out their sandwich selections and of course, more of their cakes! Staffs were also nice and service was great ❤️

Apple Chiboust {2} was one of the most interesting looking cakes on the display; flaky tart filled with caramelized apples, baked custard, topped with gently brûléed Chiboust cream; a mix of light pastry cream and meringue. This one is totally recommended! Lots of textures incorporated, all with the right flavors.
For the chocoholics; “Yatsura” {3} is of Pantler’s signatures which consists of hazelnut dacquoise, dark chocolate mousse, and crunchy feuilletine. The feuilletine was too die for 😍. As an intense flavor lover I’d prefer stronger dark chocolate in the mousse but “Yatsura” is still a very good cake and something I recommend. YOU WILL LOVE IT
Last but not least is the strawberry shortcake I bought for my mom, which uses strawberries from Chitose, Japan. The sponge cake was quite fluffy, I LOVE the cake altogether! The fluffy sponge, the tart strawberries, the acceptably sweet fresh cream 🤤. To be honest it was better than my expectation!
To conclude, pantler is a must visit dessert heaven when strolling around Telok Ayer!

Melon Pan Ice;crunchy biscuit layer over a super fluffy bread, eaten warm with ice cream sandwiched in the middle, what’s not to love?
Wonder why they’re called Melon Pan although no melons are actually incorporated? It’s because the crunchy biscuit top was lined in such way that it resembles a melon.
This one I tried is just one of the several melon pan shops in Asakusa. Wasn’t my initial shop in plan to visit but it has brought me so much joy (no lebai se enak itu apalagi if u love breadddd). Featured is the Melon Pan メロンパン with Matcha 抹茶 soft serve. Melon pans are a MUST TRY when visiting Asakusa!

They have matcha from level 1 to 7 as well as other flavors like houjicha and black sesame
At first I was quite scared but here goes nothing so I had a scoop of level 7 and a scoop of level 3 as recommended by the cashier.
The level 7 was indeed bitter but acceptable, I actually loved it! In contrast to the sweet level 3 matcha, the combination of both was really impressive.
Another thing I’d like to mention is the cone. The cone tasted really GOOD like so good it makes you notice the significance of having a great cone!

but this time when the ban ban x ovaltine hype is occuring in Jakarta, I was quite interested, so here is me trying a super similar thing in Singapore.
Heytea’s “ovaltine bobo shake” had existed a longer time ago but I’ve just tried it recently. It was GOOD! Really liked the whole thing. My favorite part? Hmm I think it’s the crunch on top, or maybe the crunchy chocolate spread on the inner surface of cup? Or the shake? Idk I just think the drink as a whole was great!
Ever since I’ve first tried Hey Tea’s tapioca pearls, it became my favorite because it was lightly chewy, the lightest from all I’ve tried, but still chewy.
I opt for ‘skinny sugar’ that’s available at Hey Tea which is a great thing used to replace regular sugar as to reduce calories. I still reduce the skinny sugar tho, so the drink wouldn’t be overly sweet.
Last picture is their Taro bobo shake. With purple taro tapioca instead of the regular tapioca pearls, taro cubes, and taro shake, the whole drink was okay. My favorite part was the taro cubes.
To end this I recommend the ovaltine bobo shake! I’m sure you’ll love it!
