Tried the ones in Singapore and I loved it already but this one in Hong Kong? EVEN BETTER✨ the crust has just the right amount of crumbly texture to it. And I like how there’s a balance between the savoury (and buttery) pastry crust and the soft and sweet custard. A TRUE INDULGENCE that left me craving for more💯👍🏼

This was recommended by my uncle. The polo bun itself was light, crisp with a slight buttery sweet fragrance. A large piece of succulent pork chop and some lettuce and tomato were sandwiched in the middle of the bun. It might look light but trust me, it was quite filling as the piece of meat was HUGE. This is one of the best polo buns I’d ever have, though I didn’t really like the fats in the meat and so it took me a while to remove them HAHA (maybe I don’t know how to appreciate such a delicacy but, well, that’s me!) slightly sinful but a total indulgence that’s worth the calories. .

Sitting area was on the 2nd floor and though there were quite a few tables occupied, the space felt spacious and rather quiet, unlike other cafés.
Got a French toast which was recommended. The toast was fried till a perfect golden brown, drenched with a generous amount of maple syrup and topped with a small slab of butter. The maple syrup was a good complement with the toast, and since I’m a person with a VERY sweet tooth, this was something which I enjoyed.
I also ordered a cup of Milk Tea (YES MY FIRST IN HONG KONG). Not much comments bout it, as I found it only slightly above average, to be honest. I think what stood out is the fact that it’s unsweetened and so you can taste the flavour of the strong tea, but that’s bout it.
Got an Egg & Lotus Seeds Sweet Soup. For some reason, I had an image in my head that it would be a thick soup but when it came, it TOTALLY WASN’T WHAT I EXPECTED IT TO BE. Tastes exactly like what they said on the menu, “sweet soup”, I personally feel it’s like sugar water with pieces of egg and lotus seeds in between. Not impressed with this and it wouldn’t be something I recommend.
Overall, I guess you could visit this place for the French toast. They have lunch/dinner food on their menu too but I didn’t try so no comments for that. It’s not a must go, but a place worth considering if u happen to stop by the area and you wanna take a break from walking. Do note that like many other cafés and restaurants in Hong Kong, Mido Café also has a min spending per person, which I THINK is bout HK$20. .

The café was bustling with people talking over tea. As all the tables were occupied, we were arranged to sit at a table in a corner. We ordered quickly as the person taking order was rather impatient. Got scrambled eggs (which was recommended), a peanut butter toast and an almond egg custard. After ordering, we saw a group of people moving off from another table and requested to change seats. They grudgingly allowed us to do so. After the ordering and swapping seats incidences, it made me think twice bout their service.
Anyways, on to the food.
The scrambled eggs were not bad, on the saltier side though. Peanut butter toast was average, there are definitely better ones in Singapore. The best was the almond egg custard which was warm and smooth. The almond flavour complemented really well with the egg custard and as such, we didn’t feel that the almond flavouring was too strong it that it was too eggy.
So overall.. Food was ok I guess.. but more needs to be done about the quality of their service.

The food was delicious. I had the Hainanese Chicken Rice set. The chicken was well marinated and cooked and the soup that came with it was tasty. Got a bowl of Fish Combination & Seaweed in Fish Soup too. The fish combination includes fish and squid balls, fish spring rolls and fish paste puffs. The soup was tasty and the fish combination and seaweed were really filling. Ordered a plate of vegetables too and they were fresh and good. Reminds me of home when I was abroad!
The portions here were considered big and honestly I couldn’t finish my food. There was a dinner crowd but the service was still better than many other places and they were quick in serving the food too. We had a pleasant experience here:)

I got a Mango Sago with Ice Cream. Sinful indulgence but every bit of it was a mouthful of sweet happiness. The mango purée itself wasn’t very sweet, and there were mango pulps in between which added a hint of sourness to the overall taste. But as the ice cream melted, it did make the entire thing slightly sweeter but still not too sweet. This was a refreshing delight that’s worth every single calorie. But honestly, if you ask me if it’s worth the money, i would say not really, because it’s really quite pricey given the serving and I believe you might be able to get mango sago of this quality elsewhere for a better price.

The food here was delicious and we enjoyed it so much.
1. I got the Soup Rice with Duck Leg and Dried Tangerine Peel which was lightly flavoured but yet still delicious. The duck leg was well cooked and gave the soup it’s tastiness, along with the other ingredients. The tangerine peel also gave the soup a mild, refreshing citrusy aroma. Having this large bowl of soup rice gave me a good break from days of oily food.
2. My dad had rice with 2 types of roast meat items. The rice was fragrant and the roast meats were delicious. This is one place we will return for roast meats in future. His set came with a bowl of soup too (we paid a little extra for this Borscht Soup). Personally I felt that the tomato flavour was a little too strong and so I felt it was a bit like ketchup or pasta sauce OOPS
3. My mom had a bowl of Oyster and White Gourd with Rice in Soup. Well don’t judge the presentation of the food because what matters was the taste of it. The soup was really tasty, and it felt like it had the “taste of the sea” because of the generous amount of oyster added. The oysters were really fresh. For the quality and portion size, this bowl was a goodness that was worth every cent.
Apart from the food, I also got a milk tea and I felt that it wasn’t as aromatic as the others we had previously.. But looking back, I must say that this was one of our best meals in Hong Kong. Price was reasonable, food was good. Would return in future to try other food (and for the roast meats) again!

Got this as part of a combo on @klooktravel which included the entry tickets to Ocean Park.
1. Egg puff from @mammypancake_hk. It was my first time trying an egg puff and previously for some reason, I have always thought it to be similar to waffle. But this one was soft and the batter was rather thick, making it quite heavy. Well not sure if it’s supposed to be like this, but if it is, I would prefer waffles, and this is not my thing.. thought it would be something light but ended up feeling very very full from just this.
2. Spicy fishball and steamed fish dumpling from Mei Lam Kee. Not too bad, just feel like it’s the typical fish ball/fish paste kinda food, not very impressed but still ok with it.
3. Pan-fried Trio from Happy Snack. Coz this was an offer from Klook, instead of a trio, it’s a duo(can i say that haha). Honestly this just reminds me of the fried Yong tau foo we have in Singapore. Nothing very special bout it.
4. Cold Hong Kong milk tea from KamCha. All the milk tea I had previous were unsweetened and this one was different coz it was sweet, maybe because of condensed milk (but I’m not too sure). Just reminds me of iced teh.
Overall, yes if you wanna grab something in Ocean Park coz ur hungry after all the walking/queuing you can give this a try. Or if u r thinking bout having street snacks for lunch, this might be able to fill you up if you’re not really a big eater. But quality wise, it isn’t as good, it’s rather average tasting food.

Honestly, IT WAS A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT. For one, the food presentation was rather meh. Ordered a plate of vegetables but they looked really unappetising I didn’t take a photo of it. And just like how it looked, it tasted really really bland, like they just boiled it without salt or any seasoning.
Also had a bit of the Pork Rib Rice which I found it to be average.
The Baked BBQ Pork Buns, which is their well known specialty was not fantastic too, in fact, just ok.
What’s more, their service was so bad, it was not a good experience dining here.
I honestly feel that with such a standard (in terms of food and service), the branches in Singapore fare WAY BETTER. I seldom give bad reviews but this was one that was VERY DISAPPOINTING given how it is expected to be a popular chain.
