Hailing from Saigon, this craft beer taproom has opened its very first outpost on Tras Street. Think rock music, Vietnamese-inspired bar snacks and more than 20 crafts beers on tap! Recommended by Burppler Jason Wong is the hoppy and potent Kurtz Insane IPA ($17 per pint) as well as the light and refreshing Futile Purpose Cucumber Pilsner ($15 per pint). If you're feeling peckish, get their Cha Gio ($12) for Vietnamese pork and seafood deep fried spring rolls.

If you feel a hole where The Coconut Club once was, have no fear! Their sister stall has moved in, serving up homely, authentic Peranakan nosh. Walk in, receive your number tag, get a seat then head to the counter to place your order (drink orders will be taken at your table). Come with your colleagues for the ultimate lunchtime indulgence. Share the Babi Pongteh ($6.50) which sees chunky pieces of pork, carrot and potatoes in a fermented soy bean sauce, Ayam Buah Keluak ($7.50), Chap Chye ($5) and crispy Prawn Rolls ($8 for 4 pieces).

Find this highly anticipated ramen joint (affiliated to two-star kaiseki eatery Seizan in Japan) in Picnic, a multi-food concept along Orchard Road. Order their thick and umami-rich Uni Ramen ($21) with springy ramen, cha shu, egg and Bafun uni in a dashi broth. For a non-seafood option, go for the Kumamoto Wagyu Ramen ($20) or fill up on their 6PC Gyoza ($10) filled with either pork or chicken.

Make a mental note of this chic joint in Shaw Centre for future tempura cravings. Order the Toku-Jo Bowl ($22.80) for a generous serving of tempura anago, crab leg, prawn, fish and egg heaped on top of pearly white rice. Choose between a spicy or non-spicy sauce — Burppler Veronica Phua recommends the former for extra oomph. Each order comes with a side of shredded cabbage salad and miso soup so you'll definitely leave feeling satisfied!
