The BKT here is hearty and deeply herbal with a broth that feels both comforting and robust. The ribs are tender, soaking up all that rich flavour. Pairing it with salted vegetables helps to cut through the richness and keeping things balanced.

A place to visit if you are looking for Malaysian-style BKT with herbal flavours served in a bubbling claypot that includes pork ribs, lettuce and beancurd skin. Similar to my previous visits, the pork ribs were as usual tender and went well with the herbal soup, which they only allowed to refill once.

The lunch buddy set is a hearty spread with 2 mains, 1 side, 2 rice and drinks. I picked the dry BKT, which came sizzling in a claypot with tender pork belly coated in a chilli and dark soy sauce that packed a nice kick. The claypot BKT was the opposite. It’s warm and herbal broth loaded with pork ribs, belly, pig stomach, meatballs, tau pok, tau kee, enoki and button mushrooms. Together, they made a good balance of bold and comforting.

The tau kee side dish added a bite, while the fragrant shallot rice tied everything together. A satisfying set that covers both dry and soupy cravings in one go 》$23.90

BKT served in claypot and piping hot herbal broth. I ordered the claypot bak kut teh with enoki and rice set that came with pork ribs, lettuce, button mushrooms, tau pok and enoki cooked and served in claypot. The pork ribs were tender and fall off the bone easily. I find the herbal flavour of broth too subtle and light for my taste buds and definitely not for those who are used to the strong herbal flavoured broth. The broth is also not overly salty which may be a hit for the folks who prefer something clean and light.

The pig trotters were well-braised and flavourful. The meat was so tender that it fell apart easily using chopsticks. I also add on a portion of tau kee (beancurd skin) soaked in a salty braising liquid that makes it the perfect combination with white rice.

Claypot BKT + Enoki + Rice 》$7.70
Braised Pig Trotter 》$5
Tau Kee 》$1.20

The BKT consists of pork ribs, pig stomach, fried beancurd skin, straw mushroom and baby corn. The soup is like a fusion of herbal and pepper BKT, a combination of Malaysian and local styles. While the ribs were tender, the broth was not as flavourful and tasted more like soy sauce based. Soups are refillable upon request 》$10 / Small

This place serves Hokkien style BKT soup that uses soy sauce and herbs served in a traditional claypot. The meat is tender and fall-off-the-bone, served along with a hearty and flavourful herbal soup. This isn't a bad choice if you are looking for something light and herbal but I prefer to have soup with a stronger herbal taste and flavour 》$8 / Medium

Peppery Teochew style BKT with fresh and tenderly juicy pork ribs. The soup has a good balance of pepper and savouriness, robust, not overly peppery and blends well with the herbs. The pork ribs come with a choice of lean or fatty meat and although we chose lean meat, they were still moist and tender.

The braised tau pok was soft and fluffy but it may get a little salty to be eaten on its own. It is best to have the tau pok with rice while the crunchy salted vegetables help to break away from the salty braised sauce and oily soup. The seafood ball is fragrant, served piping hot, crispy on the outside and soft inside.

Handmade Fried Crispy Seafood Ball 》$3.50 (4 Pcs)

Sizzling hot and intensively flavourful with its thick and dark sauce, cuttlefish, slices of okra and chilli. A little salty and spicy yet shiok at the same time. The strips of cuttlefish give out a very nice aroma and make it very addictive to chew with the sauce. The pork ribs were tender and evenly coated with the sauce. The portion of meat given was more compared to the soup version. All we had to do is to drizzle the sauce over a bowl of white rice and it will be gone in no time 》$10.50

This place serves Klang, Malaysia-style BKT which is the herbal type. The broth was robust and pork ribs were tender that fell off the bone easily. We added a portion of beancurd skin which comes in large pieces and soaked up the flavours from the herbal soup. Not forgetting their dark sauce with chilli and lots of garlic. If you love garlic, you would definitely love how generous they are with the portion of minced garlic in there. There is nothing more comforting than having a piping hot claypot of BKT on a cold day 》$7

The soup version consists of a mix of pork ribs, pork belly, tau pok, pig's tail, stomach and intestine in a herbal broth that is boiled using 10 different herbs and spices. Despite using so many herbs and spices, it has a light herbal taste with some sweetness in there 》$8.80/small

The dry version comes with a mix of pork cuts, pig's stomach, intestine, dried cuttlefish and dried chilli stir-fried in their thick and special dark soy sauce. It has a tinge of sweetness with a hint of spiciness from the dried chilli. The meat was tender and the sauce paired well with rice 》$8.80/small

A BKT stall located in a very old school coffeeshop that serves BKT with a distinct peppery soup. They also offer a variety of dishes such as pig trotter, intestines, liver, steamed fish, salted vegetables and free soup refill. The pork ribs was not as tender but their pig trotter was nice and it helps to compensate a little. Salted vegs were quite crunchy too! 》$6.50 + $6 Pig Trotter + $4 Veg + $0.50 Rice

Tender pork ribs coated in dark soy sauce. It comes with dried chilli, thinly sliced cuttlefish, lady’s finger and pig stomach 》$7.50 / Small

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
