Hawker Eats ร Roasted Delight ็ง่ ๐๐๐ฆ
Tender, juicy and not too fatty roasted duck over a plate of rice drizzled with braised gravy. The skin is thin and crispy which goes well with the flavourful roast duck meat. It also does not have any gamey taste. It gets crowded during the peak lunch hours on weekdays so it's advisable to go slightly earlier/later to get a table ใ$7
Thick cuts of char siew with Hakka noodles. The char siew is made from pork belly hence the slightly fattier cuts. The fat-to-meat ratio of a pork belly results in a tender juicy bite with a slightly charred and caramelised exterior. I chose to skip the rice and went for their Hakka noodles which looks plain but turned out surprisingly good. The noodle was a perfect match, cooked till al-dente and drizzled with lard oil ใ$5.80
Everyone knows they are one of the more popular chicken rice in SG and they now have an electronic queue number system where diners can place orders at the kiosk machine.
I ordered a quarter chicken with a mix of roasted and steamed chicken. The steamed chicken is tender and juicy with jelly-like skin while the roasted chicken is also succulent and more flavourful with nice crisp skin. It tasted even more delicious with the umami soy sauce and fried garlic bits. Each order also comes with free-flow soup and achar that makes it a fulfilling and hearty meal ใ$13.30 + $1 Rice
LFKN needs little introduction for serving soya sauce chicken since 1968. One thing I first noticed was they did not have a menu in-store. We went ahead to order their most popular soya sauce chicken, double mix of roast pork & char siew, dumpling soup and rice/noodles to go with the meats.
The tender and succulent soya sauce chicken was so soft and flavourful. I like how the braised sauce is thick and savoury yet not too overpowering. The roasted pork was done to a nice crisp with a good ratio of fat to meat while the dumpling soup turns out pretty average. I preferred noodles over rice for its al-dente springy bite without the strong alkaline taste as the oil rice somehow lacks fragrance.

The roast meat over here is highly raved and we ordered all meat available so that we donโt miss out on any. Our combo platter includes roast pork, char siew and roast duck drumstick.
The roast pork is thickly sliced with layers of tender, juicy meat and fats with crispy crackling skin. The char siew was chunky and juicy with a nice caramelised glaze and a charred exterior. I read reviews that their cuts are usually fatty hence I requested mine to be less fat and leaner cut. It was extremely soft and tender, not dry and tough at all. The roast duck drumstick was well seasoned, not gamey, tender and juicy with a crispy golden brown skin.
I would suggest pairing those meats with noodles over rice. The noodles are cooked al-dente, well flavoured with hints of pepper, pork lard oil and crispy pork lard. Itโs just too difficult to decide which is the best but Iโll say the porky wins the ducky.

Trio of caramelised char siew, roasted sio bak and roasted duck with aย choice of mee pok / mee kiaย ใ$11.80
I love char siew and this is definitely one of the better ones out there. There is a nice distribution of fats & meat with the outer layer nicely charred and caramelisedย that melts in my mouth.ย Although the sio bak is not as attractive, it was also done well with tender meat and crispy crackling skin.ย The roasted duck came with a light and crispy skin that looked quite similar to their char siew. The meat was tender and flavourful with the use of herbs and spices.
Last but not least, the mee pok was cooked al-dente with the right texture. It was very springy and not clumpy at all. Do not be deceived with this plain looking bowl of noodles that turned out very flavourful with their special sauce, chilli, bak chor and onsen egg. It was so good that I will come back just to have a bowl of their noodles.

After glancing at the bowl next to me, I decided to order with 'less fat' and it turns out perfect with well-balanced ratio of lean meat to fats.
I had a difficult time dealing with the uncut bok choy using disposable utensils. Char siew came with crispy exterior while maintaining tender, juicy and tasty inner lean meat.
Char siew has the right amount of lean meat with a little bit of fats that melts in your mouth. Not to mention the sauce was quite delish.
They offer 2 types of char siew - Dark Char Siew & Honey Glazed Char Siew. I chose the latterย ใ$4.50

A simple lunch nearby as everyone is too lazy to get out for a good meal. 1/2 Duck + $5 Roasted Pork and 1 Tau Kwa for the family of 4 on a Sunday afternoon is definitely worth the portion for the price paid.
I was contemplating between Boon Tong Fatt hainanese chicken ๐ and this roasted chicken ๐ rice. Ended up with roasted chicken rice as I was curious about why is everyone queueing for it. Its indeed worth the time to queue for this fragrant and tender chicken ๐ drenched with tasty soy sauce. Their chilli sauce is very spicy but shiok! ๐ใ$3

It was past 7:30pm and what was left at this roasted stall was just char siew. No more duck, no more sio bak. Gotten the smaller portion of char siew rice which turns out quite good. It was love at first bite but I lost my appetite 3/4 into my meal. The sauce is on the sweeter side which I think that it's too overpowering. It would be better if it came with lesser gravy ใ$3.30

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
