will be back for sure 🤤
baked rigatoni chorizo was the STAR 🌟 of the show that dinner!!! the pasta retained it's al dante texture (which alot of baked pastas don't) yet still had the dried, chewy exterior you get from baking. was such an easy eat 💗
in second place was the mafaladine slow cooked beef. again, super good pasta texture & flavour! the curvy wurly shape of the pasta was also so fun to slurp & helped to catch alot of sauce. 🍝🍝🍝
in last place & actually won't recommend - tagliatelle white pork ragu. the pasta was too thin & flat causing it to lose the good bite. also the white sauce was kind of clumpy and dried onto the pasta even after stirring. it wasn't terrible but you have so many better things on the menu!!!!
special mention for the pistachio tiramisu (not pictured). chicco actually has posters dubbing it as the tiktok viral tiramisu WHICH IT ACTUALLY DID LIVE UP TO THE HYPE 😮💨😮💨😮💨 the mascarpone was incredibly light & flowy!!! still dreaming about this 1 week later
recommend score 8/10! total damage post tax $88.73 for 3 pastas & 1 dessert
most places in sg do lu rou fan with a little singaporean twist - the lu rou is cooked in dark soy sauce and comes as distinct drier pieces on top of rice (almost like black sauce minced pork/lean pork cooked in five spice).
i've been looking for a lu rou fan that recreates the one i had in taiwan - creamy, fatty without the sg black-sauce-five-spice flavour. and i incidentally found it at this bistro! highly recommend the lu rou fan i could NOT stop eating it!!!! 🤤🤤🤤🤤
the beef noodles were q clean tasting with a good bite to the noodles. enoki mushrooms were also a tasty snack to pair - came sufficiently crispy & not overly oily which made it easy to go for one after another 🍄🟫🍄🟫
if you're around the area, rly recommend u to check this out! and for the price point of $37.05 for these 3 items, i'd say it's a steal~
will def be back to try their bobba that was sold out the last time we went! 💗
went there for the truffle pasta but decided last min to try the crab linguine instead. wasn't expecting much for a "clean" pasta - thought it would just taste salty & maybe a little spicy but WOW the al dante texture... the flavour... a little sourish & sufficiently spicy... had me clearing out the whole dish so quickly!!! pasta had such a good bite.
the french toast was not bad too - thick enough and had abit of a custard-like consistency/flavour inside with slightly crispy edges (slightly crispy probably because we drenched it in the maple provided)
the highly raved about black sesame latte didn't disappoint either!!! sufficiently creamy and gao.
will definitely be back to try the other items! (my truffle pasta...) 🤍
the matcha pistachio & caramel biscoff lattes were SO freaking good 😋😋😋😋 absolutely loved them!! & for only $7, they come with double expresso shots for your caffeine fix. the banana bread was only $4 but was incredibly chunky & huge. was served warm & was rly good except for a little but of a bread-y taste. other than that we also had the nutty donut (hazelnut) for ~$5.50 - was kinda mid but passable. would rly come again!
also would like to special mention the rly great service!!! young crowd~
wasn't expecting such a pretty & classy interior for the price that they are charging - thought it was gonna be more like a isteaks steakhouse type of environment but so glad that i was wrong! this place is totally date-worthy. they have cocktails going for 2 for $20 (wtf right? only $10 per cup) and mocktails for 2 for $12! the mocktails we had were grapefruit fizz and lychee lemonade, both of which were super yums but grapefruit >>>>!! the flat iron steak ($24++) was very delicious and juicy, but multiple pieces had tendons/veins that made it hard to cut up or chew at times which was a pity - 8/10. really great service, welcoming to burpple beyond users. you get to choose a side & a sauce with your steak. i chose the cream spinach based on many good reviews but found it rather mid in terms of flavour, although the spinach was very soft. my friend got the mash and i found it very fluffy & yummy but she found it just average because she preferred one that was more buttery (so personal preference?). super recommend this location & will defoooo be back again!
v underrated place! the burrata tarte flambe (thin crust pizza) was honestly pretty well done & the burrata was a solid yums/10. the pork ribs was well balanced with sufficient fattiness to make it tender but also enough meat. generous portion of the pork ribs too! these 2 mains fed 3 of us and came up to a total of $33.26 after burpple 1 for 1, a v affordable amount. would rly recommend this place - it's so sad that we were the only customers there throughout, rly hope they can get abit more popular ⭐️
great option if you're craving lotsa carbs! got the hot & spicy sichuan pork belly noodles ($12.50++) & dry beef noodles with mushroom sauce ($12.90++). the sichuan pork belly noodles had generous servings of pork belly & the soup had a small kick with the right amount off suan cai (picked veg) flavour. the dry beef noodles came with tomato soup on the side that tasted v similar to HDL's! can help yourself to their chilli oil also. staff were v attentive & welcoming to burpple users. total final damage was $15.18 nett for both bowls! would be back to try more 🫶🏻
we got the ratchada pork bowl ($9.80+) & the pork came cooked till crispy! personally i enjoyed it v much & would totally return for it, esp at this price point after burpple 1 for 1. the bowl also contained a good variety of ingredients and the rice was fluffy and drizzled with gravy. portions were generous too. however, my friend didn't enjoy it as much as the crispiness of the meat didn't suit her palate. all in all, it really boils down to personal preference but it's not expensive to give it a try anyway!
rly enjoyed the nice & crispy waffles ($7)! staff told us we could have the 1 for 1 single scoop gelato only (not sure why 1 for 1 waffles not applicable) but that's ok! the aphrodite flavoured ice cream (has blue cheese & chocolate) was super bold & chocolatey, while the sunset lavender was really flowery & creamy. each scoop was $5 so we spent a total of $12 for this & we rly loved it! we wanted the croffles ($6) too but they only sell that on sundays :-( can also guess the mystery flavour of the month for a free scoop of ice cream!!
was craving indian food so we decided to try out manam as it was near my dad's office. a little hesitant at first because we were afraid that the food would be too westernized/commercialised but it turned out to be extremely mouthwatering and tantalizing! the mutton biryani ($24+) used good quality basmati grains that were fluffy & not dry, and the mutton was only very slightly gamey! as a non-mutton eater, i thoroughly enjoyed the flavour & went back for more. the butter chicken ($20+) was decently portioned and the sauce was just so flavourful. would order with garlic naan when i go back again 🤭 highly recommend!! great service by anitha too 🫶🏻 the interior of the restaurant is dimly lit & gave off mbs hotel restaurant vibes so that is 😍😍😍 so happy to have found this
didn't have high expectations for this place but we were pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the food! we ordered one duck noodle soup ($8.90+) (bun) & one pho bo (beef pho) ($8.90+). the noodles were simple but tasted just like the ones we had in vietnam. we also ordered a kampung chicken ($24.90+) that isn't included in the burpple beyond menu but that really impressed us! the chicken was well charred yet retained its juiciness and tenderness. highly recommend the chicken! the viet coffee was alright ($3.50+). would come back again even without the promo!
priced competitively, khao hom by rung mama offers a wide range of authentic thai food that really impressed us! although many items on their menu were excluded from burpple beyond, we were totally willing to pay for the ala carte prices of the exclusion items, like the green curry (must try). total after discount was $49 for 4 items & 2 rice. the only thing is that we had the grilled squid (not pictured) as well but that was quite meh (not bad, quite fresh but meh - didn't feel like it was worth $18). the beef was super flavourful but a little tough for us. still!!! super recommend the pork knuckle & green curry. would be back to try other items for sure!
