Nary was there ever a more perfect match than mushroom and beef. Hon Shimeiji mushrooms' earthiness further accentuated with the perfume of truffle oil, perfectly complementing the bite sized slices of succulent and slightly sweet Tare marinated skirt steak. Also, obligatory praise for 72 degree onsen egg - "such wobble, so oozy, wow."

Fact: salted egg is the new bacon. Salted egg makes everything taste better. EVERYTHING. This was everything I hoped for and more. The onion rings were encased in a beautifully crunchy golden brown thin batter that shatter resoundingly as you bite down. It's accompanying salted egg yolk custard sauce had the right balance of salty, tart and sweet, I only wish there had been more of it. Share with at least 2 friends as it can get quite filling.

I don't usually take coffee on the weekdays but some caffeine boost would do wonders right now. Love the rustic and old school vibe at Tian Kee & Co. and even more so with their Nuts About U ($7) coffee drink that has Nutella served with espresso ice cubes and a pot of fresh milk. This is such a great way to enjoy iced coffee without worrying that it might get diluted from the melting of the ice cubes.

I can't say this is the best gula melaka dessert, but it's definitely hands down one of the best cheesecakes I've had. So damn sinful my body hasn't gotten over eating it; yet my mind's not letting go of it.

Interesting creation and was no doubt pretty tasty. However as the char kuey is fried, it gets quite "jelat" after a while. We tried the dry laksa too but preferred this as that was also abit too oily.

One of the signs that I have serious issues with self control. Even though this cake is a seasonal cake and is not available in stores currently, the manager was ever so kind as to do a special order for me ☺ Compared to the first time that I had this cake, the Crêpe layers definitely hold together much better now and the same can be said for their Vanilla Mille Crêpe. The Green Tea Mille Crêpe is such an absolute delight, I really hope that it will become a permanent fixture on the Lady M menu. Also, for Lady M lovers, you'll be pleased to know that Lady M will be opening a second outlet at One Fullerton in less than a month's time!

This starter is served with sautéed mushrooms and drizzled with truffle oil. The beef is marinated with shoyu and sesame oil. It didn't look fantastic, but to my surprise, it tasted fantastic. It was very tender and the combination of mushroom further enhanced the beef.

Hotplate baked rice doused in sweet-spicy Japanese curry, with a runny egg, cheese, and pork sausage. Looks exactly like the one at Hoshino Coffee, and tastes pretty similar as well.
