Chinese Food
Have been wanting to try Niu Dian since it opened. We went on a weekday lunch and didn't even need to queue. The restaurant gave off casual vibes and it would be a great place to hang out with friends for either lunch or dinner. The menu had a variety of options of beef with either rice or noodles and a good selection of side dishes.
We got the spicy pepper dry beef noodles as well as the premium braised combination beef noodles. We paired it with some kimchi and cucumber as well as bubble tea from palace tea just directly beside it.
Spicy pepper dry beef noodles is a great option for those who are not too keen for the soup noodles and it comes with a small bowl of soup at the side. The pepper does pack a punch but it is very flavourful and goes well with the iced milk tea. I love being able to customize the firmness of the noodles to my liking. The portions are generous and the beef was mega tender.
Overall a great experience and will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!
Was a queue for the food but even with the long line, the staff was super patient and did not rush us throughout the meal. Portions were generous, the ngoh hiang was freshly fried and the claypot soup pipping hot. Strongly recommend trying the crispy prawn cracker. It is totally not something we were expecting for a prawn cracker but it was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered extra for takeaway.
The prawn soup was very rich and the prawns used were big and fresh. We ordered the dry noodles and it comes with fried shallots and pork lard which tasted amazing with the noodles. The sauce for the noodles were just right and not too salty to pair with the claypot soup. A great place for warm soup on a rainy day and will be back again if I’m in the area.
Dropped by on a weekday evening and did not have to wait at all. The décor is very unique and the ambience is great for hanging out with friends. Staff was polite and quick to respond whenever we needed assistance.
We ordered the fresh whole squid, crispy pork belly and Sichuan mala fish. The dishes were flavorful but not too heavy. The crispy pork belly goes really well with the mustard dipping they provided and I was pleasantly surprised that it remained crispy all the way towards the end of our meal.
The fresh whole squid is a must try! The dish looked relatively bland when served but I was surprised by the flavor when I tasted it. Love the savory sauce they drizzle in and the fried garlic gave it an extra fragrance.
They seem to have a great variety of cocktails too which I would love to try next time!
