BEST PRAWN NOODLE SG
The prawn dishes were flavorful and comforting, and the ngoh hiong added that extra something to the meal. Whether you’re in the mood for noodles or a soupy dish like 泡é¥, this place has something that will hit the spot. Definitely worth coming back for more!
I recently visited Zhup Zhup and had a wonderful meal that left me feeling truly satisfied. I decided to try their prawn noodles (dry with soup on the side), prawn 泡é¥, and ngoh hiong, and I’m so excited to share my experience.
Prawn Noodles (Dry)
The dry prawn noodles were a treat. The noodles had a lovely bounce to them, and they were perfectly coated in the sauce—just the right amount, not overly oily. The fried shallots on top added a delightful crunch, and the bean sprouts were fresh and crisp, balancing the richness of the noodles beautifully. I also appreciated the little kick of spiciness from the chilli, which gave the dish an exciting twist. The soup was light yet flavorful, with the prawn essence really shining through. It was comforting and warm, especially on the side of the more intense dry noodles.
Prawn 泡é¥
If you’re looking for comfort food, this is it! The prawn æ³¡é¥ came bubbling in a claypot, and the aroma was heavenly. The prawns were plump and juicy, and the soup had such a deep, rich flavor that you could tell it had been simmered to perfection. The rice soaked up the broth beautifully, creating a soft, comforting dish that warms you from the inside out. It’s the kind of dish that makes you feel cozy and happy with each spoonful.
Ngoh Hiong Platter
The ngoh hiong was an enjoyable side dish to complement the prawn-focused meal. Each piece was crispy and golden brown on the outside with a lovely, flavorful filling. My favorite was the prawn paste—it had the perfect balance of texture and taste. Paired with the dipping sauces, each bite was so satisfying and indulgent without feeling too heavy.
Final Thoughts: Zhup Zhup was such a pleasant discovery. Their prawn dishes were comforting, flavorful, and full of heart. Whether you're craving the hearty prawn noodles or the soothing prawn 泡é¥, both dishes will leave you with that warm, fuzzy feeling. And the ngoh hiong was the perfect side to add some extra texture and variety. Definitely a place I’ll return to when I want a comforting, prawn-filled meal!
Food was simply amazing. I had the noodles served in the claypot. The sauce was super tasty and the prawns were nice and sweet. The table set up was also super well planned, with all the sauces and seasoning neatly at the side of the table, and also with a small bin for the prawn shells. I would definitely come back here.
Tried their seafood pao fan, which came with their prawn broth. I don’t usually choose prawn broth, but it was very good. Texture was nicely balanced as well; neither too thick not too fluid
Hei Hei Hei, I’ve found one of the most intense Wok Hei Hokkien Mee, well balanced Hei Mee Soup, tons of pork lard dry Hei Mee & the nicest fried Ngoh Hiang! Made a reservation at 6pm, was surprised to see the queue starts to form at around 6:30pm. So make sure to make a reservation before heading down!
One of the wok hei-rich Hokkien mee I've had, with a portion that seems small but is surprisingly filling, thanks to a generous amount of lala and prawns!
The ngoh hiang tasting platter is impressive too—freshly fried and not oily at all.
