visited on a tuesday night around 7:30pm and the place was almost fully packed. by the time we left at about 8:30pm, it was still crowded, would recommend making a reservation.
the ambience was lovely - great spot for date nights or small gatherings. staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was genuinely good.
food-wise, we tried a couple of their new menu items: the truffle mushroom pizza and the prawn caesar salad. i really enjoyed the pizza - nice balance of flavours without the truffle being overpowering. the prawn caesar was interesting too - the prawns were battered and fried, then topped with cheese, which made it quite unique. we also ordered the chicken wings, which were really good. dessert was a nice finish to the meal - the sea-salt vanilla ice cream with olive oil was something that i’ve never tried before, and surprisingly, i quite liked it even though i’m not usually a fan of vanilla.
overall, we had a pleasant dinner and would definitely come back to try more of their menu.
shukuu has a nice ambience, be it for a date night or gathering with friends. personally enjoyed the scallop mentai and chirashi inari the most, it was flavourful and fresh. the hot soba was light on the palette and comforting to have. staffs were nice and attentive too, helped to adjust the aircon temperature.
