must-eat hong kong
my version of hk fastfood. if you want some good old 1960s HK, this is quite it. no frills but heartiest homiest tomato beef instant noodles ever
do not belittle this unassuming plate of . toss the wet mein with grilled spring onions, tasty prawns, crispy garlic crumble and enjoy the intense flavor from the shellfish oil. ho leek fook meaning, "good fortune in your mouth” is an old school chaa chan tengs with modern twists. awesome awesome chill out vibe for some asian tapas and alcoholic drinks. pricy but expected price dining in central, HK
this dainty matcha cheese cake ought to be made mandatory as the official friday's chill pill. accquired matcha taste is not a sure hit with everybody but this is a game changer i assure you. so much love for this unpretentious cafe and if weather allows, please take the seats outside and just zone out.
sometimes not able to find some wayout cafes in the city, or making a big detour because of a wrong turn, i question myself why the trouble and energy to find yet, just another cafe.
but is because places like teakha and taking a sip of this keemun rose tea with locally grown honey makes me realise that such gems are really worth unearthing for. that mellow aromatics of keemun tea is so calming and welcoming that all weariness of a big detour or wrong turn simply just disappear at the very first sip.
you rejoice in that needed break, that spiritual replenishment if i may and embrace the cafe vibe wholesale. i think that's the spirit of cafe hunting isnt it. is not about another ig worthy post but because is bout being there to bask in the cafe mood and celebrate their sincere offerings made with passion. just saying.
the moment they showed me the porridge cooking below the steam plate with all the seafood essence and chicken oil dripping into it, i went high and felt dizzy. the first look was sheer organic beauty - a golden lace of chicken oil on the surface of the milky stained porridge water that came from nothing but the sweet discharge of our seafood selection. then, stir in the complimentary lettuce as finishing touch for that additional texture and veg sweetness. i never ever know porridge can make me so excited. we only had this small portion of seafood and the porridge was already heavenly. cannot imagine folks coming in a big group with even more seafood to charge the porridge! here's a big thank you to @hkpetersg for introducing this place to us!
thats how we roll at HK's 7 degrees. steamed egg noodles tossed with fatty marinated chopped chickens was rustic but oh so darn good in that simplicity. again, take a moment to imagine all these essence of seafood goodness that we ordered (flower crab, deep sea prawns, red grouper), sauce of marinated chicken and finally the chicken oil of its own flowing down below the steam plate as they steam to cook up something even more hearty. aww, later that view that greeted me when the plate was lifted up....
your context of regular steamboat may not apply here because this is literally a steam pot. and none is a better testament of how fresh a seafood is than to plain steam it. like we were not convinced when the chooped crustacean was still moving on the plate before steaming. anyway, the roe sweetness was so clearly pronounced that my eyes rolled and toes curled. it was just purely organic orgasmic without any other condiments.

there you go, i cant helped it. witness that lucious pink on the patty! love the light creamy raclette cheese and tame diced pickles to let patty take centre stage. grass fed patty was juicy wet clean taste but definitely more flavors
medium rare raclette cheese burger with bacon. patty only uses hormone-free, grass-fed beef from the cape grim region of tasmania.
tea break on sunday at ridiculous 3 degrees. glad to have this socks tea to warms things up. for some good authentic HK socks tea, this is the da place to be.
the almighty makers above gave puny humans eggs, but did not give the recipe. they did however give it to australia diary co. this is da bestest scrambled eggs in da friggin universe.
little bao with nano technology to make burgers miscrosopic. some aweome matcha ice cream on crispiest fried bun you can ever imagine. condensed milk a little overkill but otherwise, consider this your tempura ice cream reinvented.
