Pretty excited for the return of this one — possibly one of my favourites when it comes to the range of limited-time only soft serve that they have to offer. Really liked how the consistency of this particular flavour of soft serve is fairly different to the others; somehow holding up to the climate better given how it does not seem to melt so easily, yet carrying a pretty evident but subtle hint of sweetness amidst the earthiness of sweet potato without an aftertaste — all contained in a crisp waffle cone. Something which I would most certainly go for whenever it comes back on the menu.
This definitely raises the bar for Chocolate 🍦 at McDonalds.
We tasted both the Regular Sundae and the McFlurry!
Both are good but prefer the McFlurry because it has those SHAVED semi-dark chocolate!

For a $2.00 price point, it would be a value-for-money dessert for the not fussy matcha lovers. The ice cream is not too sweet, however the texture of the ice cream is just like your any MacDonald sundae.
Deliciousness: 5/10
Value for money: 10/10
I am a huge fan of local flavours in western fare so I was pretty excited to learn about this burger yesterday; after all, Nasi Lemak is one of my favourite dishes and it's not everyday you see Nasi Lemak being done in a form of a burger.
Being an avid Nasi Lemak fan, this was actually surprisingly well-executed by McDonald's — thought that it actually pulled off the "Lemak" pretty well in the crisp and tender Coconut-Flavoured Chicken Thigh patty (god knows what they did to it but I am impressed enough to not find out how they put everything together). I am also quite surprised how they didn't butcher the Nasi Lemak chili; a little sweet, a little savoury and a little spicy — just like how it should have been. Coming with other condiments such as the fried egg, cucumber and caramalised onions (😍), it's almost akin to having the real deal less the rice and with the Semolina buns. Quite glad that they didn't try to add in peanuts for this one (yes, I am the odd one out), but I thought it could have been done better with Ikan Bilis for some crispness. Still, it's actually a pretty good one coming out from the brand with the big, yellow M.
Apparently most of the focus is on the Prosperity Burger, the Twister Fries and that McFlurry with Gula Melaka and Rainbow Lapis bits, but there is also a Lychee Soft Serve and Lychee Twist that the big M is serving up too.
Quite unlike the different renditions of McFlurry that they had released where one can taste that lingering aftertaste that can somewhat feel artificial, they seem to have done quite a good job when it comes to this lychee soft serve — a light, rosy flavour profile that is pretty refreshing overall, and lacks all that powdery feel that the original soft serve sometimes carries. Would probably return again, though would opt for the usual cone instead; no doubt the waffle cone is prettier but let's just say I am not quite ready to sacrifice 40 cents over what seems to be a reduced volume of soft serve.
The highly anticipated Confirm Shiok set was a pure disappointment. Yes, they increased the salted egg portion but it didn't taste much. The twister fries were better alone than with the shaker powders. The only nice thing was the banana pie, I could eat many a day!
One of the latest promotions from McDonald's. Familiar components used here; eggs from the Big Breakfast set, the oh-so-familiar Sausage from the various breakfast sets and cheese. Found it interesting though nothing new; cheese was slightly overwhelming and could do with some vegetables for a healthier touch.
Drinking Thai Tea is boring but having it in Ice Cream form becomes pretty addictive! I say we have a winner here🏆

But when two different people asked me if I had tried it, I just felt compelled to get it. 😝 Why I was of two minds about it is (1) I would have preferred actually chicken (wings or drumsticks) like what you can find at the Mac's up north and (2) if it's fried chicken patty, it better be able to top the mcspicy which I hold to be the "gold standard" of chicken patties 😘
.
So how did this one fair? Ok yes it's crunchy and juicy and yes there's the dripping oil when I sunk my teeth into it. But it pales in comparison to the mcspicy patty 😒 What saved my meal were the curly fries and the chocolate pie 😋

The Sausage McGriddles with Egg of course. Was so excited that this was coming back and I couldn't wait to sink my teeth in it. The moment I unwrapped it, the familiar sweet fragrance of the maple-flavoured griddle cakes hit you. Sandwiched in between the sweet are the savouries: the sausage patty, a sunny side-up egg and melted cheese. I know some people may be crinkling their nose at the thought of the sweet and savoury coming together. But believe you me this is how breakfast should be enjoyed 😘 .
PSA: The McGriddles are available during breakfast hours only and not available at Lido Shaw Centre and Singapore Science Centre.
