Located in Sri Petaling, I never heard of this restaurant before as usually Thai Thai, Absolute Thai, Mr Tuk Tuk, etc are my always go to place for Thai food. After today, Thai U Up is automatically entered inside my list of delicious Thai food that I will visit them again!
The restaurant is decorated in such way that you feel like you're in Thailand, with all those Thai songs and Thailand King pictures all over the wall. The chef does come from Thai (as I heard them speaking Thailand language), so we're talking about real authentic Thai gem here..
I personally have an unconditional love for Pad Thai, so i decided to give their Pad Thai (RM13.9) a try. Wrapped in a thin layer of egg, served with extra lime and taugeh by its side. I'm totally sold off by their Pad Thai! It's one of the best Pad Thai in Malaysia that taste exactly like the one in Bangkok. The trick here is they never serve it with all the condiments, instead they'll give you a bucket of condiments containing sugar, fish sauce, peanuts and dried chili flakes which you would have to put it according to your taste before eating. Their Pad Thai doesn't bear the chef "thumbs" inside the menu, but I would say it is worth to try and you won't regret it!
Next is the Steamed Tilapia with Lime and Chili (RM 52), the flesh is so smooth and the fish complement very well with the garlic, tangy lime and hot chili. The spicy mango salad (RM12.9) is one of their chef special dish that you also should try. Warn you, eat carefully and better not choke on those mango salad because it's quite spicy compared to other mango salad out there..
Their Red Ruby dessert (RM6.9) is also a must try in here! It's also the best tasting Red Ruby that I ever had in Malaysia, plus point is it can help you to cool down the spiciness in your mouth.
Tip: Air conditioned, cash and credit card payment available
Opening hours: 11 am- 11 pm
Parking: relatively easy to find parking in this side of Sri Petaling :)
Quite a nice balance of flavour. Nice to cool off after the spicy meal.
Mum says it's better than Absolute Thai's curry, but I beg to differ. Flavour was okay, though the curry could be richer.
This was not what I expected it will be. Tasted just like ordinary stir fried kuey teow. No dried shrimp, peanuts, tofu etc, common ingredients you'll find in a pad thai.
Meant to be an appetiser but it was the last fish that was served. You can op for seafood or fish otak otak. An okay dish.
