More Reviews of good food at Old Street Bak Kut Teh (Kallang Wave Mall)

Female staff was utterly rude. Pulled the table apart to prevent us using two tables (pre-arranged) even though the entire restaurant was literally empty and filled with empty seats. Meat and you tiao was cold and it is nothing compared to its other outlets. I would not recommend eating this

Chicken feet & Bak Kut Teh lunch was really yummy! Tender feet and ribs.

Apparently different outlet might have different standard of bkt. Luckily the soup here is good! The set was unfortunately too much for me to finish. Came with a huge basket of fried youtiao and the tau huay was not bad too.

This was not nice. Far inferior to the one at Seletar Mall (not Old St). The sauce was watery and the pork slices had a porky taste. It was strange, cos I first tasted this at their Terminal 4 branch and I liked it. On a side note, their tenderloin today also had a porky taste, which I didn’t detect the last time I had it at this same branch.

I was slightly aghast at the price. Almost double the normal pork ribs! But I noticed the diff in quality of the normal one and the premium one at Founder’s BKT, so I decided to splurge. Best decision ever. Well marbled and meaty. Each bite was melt in the mouth tender. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ it! I dunno how to go back to normal pork ribs now.

I loved that Old street offered a variety of sauces. Besides dousing my rice with soup and adding spicy black sauce, a dollop of garlic and sesame sauce made the rice so savory and flavorful. Soup was not as peppery as the others so I could finish one whole bowl.

Always curious abt the no-bone version of BKT and I must say this was a winner for me. The pork slices were quite big and extremely tender. Not exactly melt in the mouth, but not tough. More expensive than the normal pork ribs but totally worth it.

This was smooth as silk and felt lighter than rice. Great for soothing sensitive stomach, or if you just want sthg easier to digest.

Had a sudden craving for bak kut teh, so my friend and I went to Old Street to eat the dry and soup bak kut teh. The you tiao and the lu dan are the two must-have, not forgetting the chilli sauce! 😊

Premium pork ribs for him, and non-premium ribs for me. We had to wait a bit for the you tiao (fried dough sticks) but I did not mind it a bit because we get to have freshly fried ones!

back again within the same week but no pork ribs soup this time. we just got the side dishes because we love the braised beancurd skin and you tiao so much. mum loves the chicken feet that I'm not much a fan of but everything's still good.
