Have been hearing quite a fair bit of the new Partage Patisserie that has recently made its move into Cavan Suites along Cavan Road in Jalan Besar; for those whom are not too familiar with the area, other notable F&B establishments that are situated around the same stretch of shophouses as Partage Patisserie would include that of Just Julia, Rya Bakehouse and Red Eye Smokehouse. Partage Patisserie occupies a hole-in-the-wall shop space; a tightly-packed space, Partage Patisserie does have a small dine-in space with a single high table that seats one (1) pax; the display chiller and cases of which stocks the Danishes and cakes that they have to offer are situated behind the lone dine-in chair β€” the orders counter being just right beside the display chiller, while the mini espresso bar sits towards the right slightly behind the counter. Considering the set-up of Partage Patisserie, we did find it pretty surprising that Partage Patisserie does offer a decent variety of dessert tarts, danishes and entremets β€” the main selection is being listed in the printed menu at the counter, though we did notice a number of specials that were being offered during our visit made to the premises. Beverages that Partage Patisserie offers mainly involves espresso-based specialty coffee in their form of a Black and a White, available in both iced and hot formats.

During our visit to Partage Patisserie, we found out that they were serving up a small line-up of special patisseries and Danishes which are outside of their usual offerings β€” seemingly introduced in-line with the Christmas season. Whilst the elements included in the Snowflake is not being described in the menu nor the description card placed in front of the item in the display chiller, we note from the introduction of the item on its social media accounts that the Snowflakes features elements such as coconut chiffon sponge, cinnamon vanilla cremeaux, blueberry gel, coconut mousse, and a hazelnut crunch base. Slicing into the cake, the different layers of the cake can be found neatly stacked within; the first layer on the top would be the cinnamon vanilla cremeaux which comes already with a twist from the usual vanilla cremeaux that we are used to seeing in other entremets that are being served elsewhere β€” there is definitely a distinct hint of cinnamon that it carries which gives the cake a nice hint of spice totally in the mood of the festive season for the cake itself. The use of coconut mousse and coconut chiffon sponge does give the cake somewhat of a tropical and refreshing feel with the cake not being overly rich from creaminess as a result, while the blueberry gel offers a bit of a tang for an added contrast. The inclusion of the hazelnut crunch base is also yet another festive touch that gives the Snowflake a chocolate-y, nutty crunch that gives yet another dimension of flavours and textures to the cake.

We also noticed that Partage Patisserie was also carrying a Pistachio Roll as a part of its Viennoiserie line-up during the day of our visit β€” this was being described as something similar to that of a cinnamon roll in its conception when it was introduced to us by the folks behind the counter. Whilst inspired from the Cinnamon Roll, what we found interesting is how the Pistachio Roll is being made from pastry dough that is similar to that of a croissant β€” this also makes the Pistachio Roll feel less dense with a lighter texture; crisp, noticeably buttery and flaky. Inside, the Pistachio Roll does feature a nut paste mixed with butter that also features very finely chopped nuts which is almost similar to that of the Cinnamon Roll; this being a much more savoury flavour as compared to that of the pistachio paste piped on top of the pastry itself that carried a much more distinct note of the nut that further enhanced the flavours of the pastry. We paired all of the bakes that we have ordered with the Iced Black. The Iced Black here does come with a light body; one in which that carried a nutty and earthy flavour profile that was actually pretty easy to drink β€” makes for a good mid-day casually cuppa to have.

Partage Patisserie is an establishment that is full of promise based on the items that we had tried and for good reason β€” the establishment is one that is founded by the winner of the Global Pastry Chef Challenge 2022; we did feel that the items that were being served up at Partage Patisserie does live up to those expectations set for an establishment with such a background. It seems that it’s small and earnest set-up is intentionally done to keep things manageable for themselves β€” allows them to upkeep the quality of their bakes, while making their cakes still wallet-friendly that helps them as a newly-established brand to gain market visibility. A brand with earnest roots that not only puts in the effort to showcase their skills in the craft to present their very best for its patrons, Partage Patisserie is also eager to gather critical feedback on what they serve up β€” ensuring that the patrons do get the same feel and vibe as what they intend to be presenting in their various offerings. With prices of their Viennoiserie line-up priced from $2 to $4.50 and the prices of their cakes / tarts being set at $9 a piece, Partage Patisserie is definitely a spot worthy to check out for those whom fancy delicate contemporary cakes and French pastries made with a heart!
