The Bak Kut Teh here was rich in herbal flavour, offering a sense of comfort with every sip. The soup was generously filled with pork ribs, pork tripes, pork offals, vegetables, and mushrooms. The meat was tender and easily fell off the bone, while the tripes provided a chewy texture. However, the intestines weren't cleaned thoroughly, leaving a slightly funky taste.
Walking around, our stomachs growled with hunger, fueled by a craving for braised pork trotter. After passing several Bak Kut Teh shops, most on the verge of closing for the day, we finally found one that closes later than others, which also served pork trotter.
We placed our order, a Bak Kut Teh served in a piping hot claypot (RM 17/pax), a savoury bowl of Braised Pork Trotter (RM 17/pax), 2+1 bowls of Taro Rice (RM 1/bowl), You Tiao (RM 2/bowl), and a pot of hot tea (RM 3 - 12), totaling up to RM 72. Though the math didn't quite add up, we didn't bother to question it, given how tasty the food turned out to be.
