Unassuming yet amazing.. a must try Talk about good food & good vibes 🫶🥺 I just want to give a huge shoutout to the team for over-delivering on the menu choice & design. My date and I were blown away by the service! We absolutely loved the grilled octopus and the bite sized pieces. The octopus was sooo fresh and goes so well with the crunch of the lotus root. Top it off with the greens and it gave such a balanced flavour. The second item we absolutely loved (which is a must order) would be the tiger prawns. They were so fresh and it came peeled, yet grilled to perfection. Thinking about it now has got me salivating. 🥺🤤🤤 Will definitely bring my friends to try this place out in the future hehe

Heartwarming Herbal Soups This place was amazing! I got the white chicken and fish maw soups and they were so delicious. The fish maw soup was so rich and tasty, and the chicken was basically fall off the bone. Besides the soups, the side dishes were amazing as well. I really recommend getting the prawn roll. Also, the service here was really good. The staff were so attentive, and they gave us a free refill of the fish maw soup. I’ll definitely want to come back here again! (Esp since it’s so convenient and near Aljunied MRT)

MUST TRY Collagen Fish Maw Soup Ordered a couple of dishes but my favourite was the Collagen Fish Maw Soup — rich & flavourful with tender fish maw and abalone (plus 1x refill!! 🤤). Loved the Prawn Roll as well!! Crispy outside with juicy filling and whole prawns inside.

Good food at a good deal! Choose from your pick of burpple deals at this cafe bistro at the swanky new Guoco Midtown. We went with the Mains + Bar Bites combo, meaning from a selection we could get two sets of Mains + Bar Bites for the price of 1, worth! For Bar Bites, we got the Har Cheong Gai Winglets ($16.80) and Grilled Lamb Chops ($26.60). Winglets were crisp, juicer, but could use slight bit more intensity in flavour. Lamb chops came in such a large portion, but about a quarter of it were the fats haha! Otherwise, the lamb was grilled well and nicely seasoned, without the gamey taste but a tad too oily for my liking. As for the mains, we went with the Hokkaido Scallop Pesto ($24.80) and Miso Baked Salmon ($26.80). While the scallops weren't quite fresh the pesto pasta was quite addictive and paired nicely with the fusili. On the other hand, the baked salmon was a tad overcooked and underseasoned, with the only flavour being some kind of miso mayo squeezed on top of the salmon. At least marinate the salmon in miso! The saving grace was the mashed potatoes which was buttery and creamy. Overall, food was decent but there is room for improvement. Service given was also just passable. Ambience of the place was nice but somewhat stuffy and warm. But the burpple deal sweetened the meal, with the total for the 4 dishes plus a pint of beer coming up to just $76.

Japanese Restaurant from memory lane Used to work in Jurong and this was the go to place beside Jurong Hill Park, for a Japanese lunch. Surprised to see that the restaurant is still doing well after 20 years, even though all the other establishments around the same area have gone to the pits. Sure it needs a new coat of paint but something tells me it’s not going to happen. We ordered sashimi, tonkatsu don and grilled chicken set. Food still tastes good although prices have gone up a lot. The sashimi was fresh and thick cut, not the thin slivers of fish you get else where. The grilled chicken (salted, not teriyaki) was a little under cooked in some parts but mostly okay. The tonkatsu was crunchy with every bite and juicily tender inside. I strongly recommend this old school Japanese restaurant for a simple no frills Japanese meal.

Tuna Don Wasn't fantastic imo. Tuna soso... Salmon don tasted better. Serving size was a lil small too 🤔 Absolutely not filling. Felt like kids portion

Salmon belly Sashimi Gotta admit this was the thickest cut of salmon belly sashimi I’ve ever eaten! $20 for 6 slices. Pretty reasonable considering how thick the chunks are 😇

Perfect breakfast place for bonding activities I stayed at Lyf Farrer Park Singapore over the weekend for a staycation with my son and we decided to have breakfast at the Yeast Side café located at the lobby. The ambience was warm and lively, with soft background music and genuinely friendly staff who welcomed us with big smiles. Since it was our first visit, I asked the cashier for recommendations, and he suggested their popular focaccia sandwiches, highlighting the Sri Lankan Chicken and the Smashed Beef as signatures. They also offer a good range of salads and light bites, so we went with his advice and ordered the Smashed Beef Sandwich along with a Burrata Salad to share. For drinks, we tried their signature Form Series Matcha. The recommendations did not disappoint. The Smashed Beef Sandwich stood out with its perfectly toasted focaccia, which added just the right amount of crunch, holding together juicy Black Angus beef patties, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, and a flavorful onion marmalade. The Burrata Salad was equally impressive, balancing creamy burrata with peppery arugula, sweet-savory garlic-roasted tomatoes, and crunchy croutons, all elevated by a honey-thyme dressing that tied the flavors together beautifully. The iced matcha drink was refreshing and smooth, combining earthy matcha with creamy milk and a touch of sweetness which is a lighter yet energizing alternative to coffee. Overall, it was a delightful breakfast experience and I’d gladly recommend Yeast Side café to friends looking for a cozy spot with hearty food and great service.

Good vibes!! Wanted to sit at a chill cafe and stumbled upon this gem! 🤤🫶 My partner and I ordered the crispy mid wings and the crab sandwich 🥪 We each got a drink as well - matcha sea foam and chocolate sea foam. The drinks were so amazing & honestly worth the price. It reminded me of liho’s and koi’s macchiato!! The mid wings were super juicy and crispy… while the crab sandwich added a refreshing touch to the entire meal. We went the cafe at Farrer Park which was in the lobby of Lyf Hotel and we absolutely loved the vibes. Will defo be back to try the other dishes~

From the ’70s Vibes to Durian Delights—What a Meal! My wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner when we stumbled upon this restaurant along Tanjong Katong Road. Curious, we decided to give it a try and we’re so glad we did. The interior took us on a nostalgic trip back to the ’70s, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made us feel very welcomed. After a few recommendations from the person in charge, we decided on two main courses and a dessert. I ordered the Double Bacon Smash Burger, and it was absolutely fantastic. The homemade brioche bun was soft and buttery, and the Wagyu patties were cooked to perfection. Both my wife and I agreed it tastes better than Shake Shack’s version any day. My wife went with the Homemade Spaghetti with Fresh Crab Meat in Special Chili Sauce. The flavors were bold and unique, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A word of advice: go with the normal spice level because it already packs quite a punch! :) For dessert, we tried the Durian Crème Brûlée, and it was the highlight of the evening. Topped with pure durian pengat and served with fresh blueberries and strawberries, it was one of the best crème brûlées we’ve ever had. A must-try for durian lovers!

A Gem @ Tanjong Katong A nice and chill spot in the Katong neighbourhood, Seng House truly surprised me with its quality food. We had the Double Bacon Mash Burger and Spaghetti Al Granchio, followed by their Durian Crème Brûlée. The burger was juicy and tender, while the spaghetti was incredibly delicious — a must-try for crab lovers who enjoy a little spice. To end the meal, the crème brûlée was rich, creamy, and absolutely satisfying. We’ll definitely be back again!

Chill bar with great food Very chill bar in a very chill neighbourhood. Their fusion of chinese flavours with a western twist will leave you speechless. Definitely will be back again.

Eonyang Bulgogi From ilmiri Marinated beef in soy based sauce and cooked on charcoal grill. Served with various veggie. Not bad indeed.

Hearty Korean Crunchy Potato ($17.90): Visually impressive, great portion, and first bite was full of flavour and crunch. However, you start to realise the outer part is the nicest, towards the middle the potato became more clumpy and one-dimensional. Korean Tofu Stew ($16.90): Flavourful and chockful of tofu, veges, and beef slices. Perfect with rice (+$3). Honeycomb Makgeoli ($13): Less honeycomb and more just-honey, but still very enjoyable. Banchan: Trio of seaweed, braised quail eggs, and kimchi. Quail eggs were so so good. But they seemed to only refill once; the staff proactively helped us to refill the first time but seemd to ignore the empty banchan tray after that. With Burpple, the stew was free which made this a really value-for-money place in the heart of Clarke Quay. Will return again to try the other dishes!

Char Siew Chicken Wanton Mee A main that came with the buffet. I've never loved wanton mee but picked this because the menu said roast duck and roast meat. Where are they? Conversely, the noodle wowed me. It's al dente, no trace of alkaline, and superb seasoning.

Amazing ambience, food and service! Love the restaurant's ambience. Their staff were also extremely friendly and helpful in explaining the menu and food we ordered. We had their sourdough with fermented butter for starters, along with oysters, and hokkaido scallops. Aboslutely love the scallops with the dressing. The picanha beef was absolutely amazing. Super fragrant from the firewood and very tender. Their iberico is probably the best pork we have had. Went perfectly with their homemade Marsala wine sauce! Everything washed down with a refreshing home- made ginger lemon spritz. The whole experience was wonderful and we would definitely recommend coming here.

Salmon Tartare with caviar that melts in your mouth OBSESSED. The salmon tartare tartelette with caviar was insanely good. It was fresh, buttery, and just so moreish. The lamb loin was cooked to tender, flavour-packed perfection. Even the butter with the bread was divine?! I’m already planning my return. 10/10 recommend all to come here for a nice dinner occasion!

Perfect place for dry-aged meat! Started the dinner with fresh sourdough bread perfectly paired with fermented miso butter. Lampino Ibérico Chuletero was incredibly nutty and rich, greatly impressed by the their pairing of marsala sauce and potato skin puree — a must try! Wagyu Picanha was served with a side of salt which brought out the rich natural flavour of the beef that was also surprisingly tender.
