waffles w/ double scoop ($9.30 + $3.30) when I first tried Creamier a few years ago, I immediately fell in love with their waffles. eating it again today after a long time, I was glad that the waffles remained as yummy as I’d remembered. lightly crisp and golden on the outside while remaining warm and fluffy on the inside, it was already a joy to consume the waffles on their own. the buttery, milky fragrance of the waffles was distinct and comforting, accompanied with their textural lightness. meanwhile, I also managed to try their 4 basic ice cream flavours. my personal favourite was the chocolate; it had a hint of dark chocolate which I like along with a rich texture. the sea-salt gula melaka came a close second as I appreciated how the salty and sweet flavours balanced out to give a salted caramel-esque finish. as for the thai milk tea flavour, it was a well done ice cream rendition of the drink and was highly reminiscent of it, which makes it a safe choice for people who can’t decide between flavours. last but not least, the earl grey lavender boasted a floral fragrance throughout the dessert while maintaining a light flavour which is good as it does not weigh down one’s palate. all in all, I really like Creamier’s ice creams as they have really smooth yet substantial textures that are full of flavour while not being too sweet. also, the service staff were really friendly and helpful in assisting us with taste testing!

Waffle with Double Scoop Hopefully not my last visit to Creamier Toa Payoh! Was impressed with the root beer ice cream that came with popping candy to give the fizzy aftertaste. The chocolate banana was a let down though with barely a hint of banana. Waffle was great as usual- crispy outside and fluffy inside.

Genmisu ($10.80) Besides their mainstays of sliced cakes, belgium waffles and lava cakes, Hvala has also recently pushed out the concept of having limited-time only special desserts painstakingly curated by their in-house pastry chef. Being the matchaholic i am, i've definitely had my fair share of matcha tiramisu. Though green, this is not matcha flavoured, but genmaicha flavoured! The sweetness of the azuki layers paired really well with the generous amount of genmaicha mascarpone which had a pleasant toasty, nutty fragrance. I think i much prefer a genmaicha-azuki to a matcha-azuki pairing haha P.S. There's also the option of pairing the genmisu with genmaicha gelato for $13.80.

Mango Lavender ($7.80) A super light and refreshing cake option for after a heavy meal. Can definitely finish a slice on my own! Its sweet but doesn't feel overly laden with sugar, and there's actual chunks of mangoes which provides a refreshing flavourful burst. The mango flavoured mousse kind of reminds me of mango pudding! Would have liked for the lavender fragrance to be incorporated in some other way instead of having the floral bits on top of the cake, which had me grimacing at their much too strong perfumey flavour when i bit into them

BEST MONT BLANC tart?!?!?! 💯 〰️ Hvala’s NEW take on Mont Blanc tart: Black Sesame 💁🏻‍♀️ 1️⃣ Mont Noir - SGD 7.80 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Gorgeous nutty aroma in each bite, with subtle notes of white sesame whose intensity is super satisfactory, dusted with real bits of black sesame seeds, even coming with crumbles for that added oomph. Pastry crust had better flavour and texture. Love for it’s right amount of sweetness, and it’s not jelat as well. Perfectly reinforcing the black sesame flavours, SOOOOOO GOOD! Goma lovers would love this rendition, even those that might not! 🖤🖤🖤🖤 〰️ #burpple

Probably the place with the strongest alcoholic ice cream? The chocolate stout is definitely heavy on the stout flavours, but interestingly enough, the bitter chocolate actually complements it so well. Rum and raisin is so good as well, as the raisins are plump and the fragrance of the rum lingers. They have matchaya green tea as well, which is perfect with the Thai milk tea, to make it a semi sweet fragrant combination. A 4oz cup in the picture is $5, but once again #burpplebeyond is here to save your wallet.

[4oz Cup] Lei Cha/Dark Chocolate Sorbet & White Chocolate Miso Nori/Croc ($5) A few different deals available on Burpple Beyond at Tom’s Palette including 1-for-1 4oz cup, waffles and double scoop and a takeaway tub (750ml). We originally wanted the waffles and double scoop deal but we arrived just when they opened at 1pm on Sunday and were informed that the waffles weren’t ready yet, so we settled for the 4oz cup instead. We were excited by how many interesting and unique flavours Tom’s Palette had to offer like salted egg, lei cha, Parmesan cheese cracker. They do have the regular ‘safe’ flavours, as well as dairy-free flavours so you’re covered no matter how you like your ice cream. Thankfully, they do allow tastings and you’re also allowed to have two flavours in each cup (this is awesome!!!). We settled on the Lei Cha/Dark Chocolate sorbet for the first cup (front) and White Chocolate Miso Nori/Croc (or some chocolate name) for the second cup and loved all of them! The lei cha was surprisingly very good. It tasted somewhat like matcha, with a grassy taste and some herbal afternotes. The dark chocolate sorbet was amazing from start to end, and never got jelak. It’s rich and slightly bitter, but not so creamy that it overwhelms your tastebuds. I think my absolute fav was the white chocolate miso nori which comes with chunks of white chocolate glazed almonds and has a sweet yet complementary savoury taste. The almonds add a lovely crunch to the ice cream too, and you can see the little bits of seaweed in the ice cream. Whoever came up with this flavour is a mad genius, but this flavour combination works like a dream! I really can’t remember the name of the last flavour but it’s named after a wafer chocolate bar and it’s a chocolate-based ice cream with chunks of the chocolate bar inside. This was the sweetest out of the flavours, but it wasn’t overly sweet and these four flavours were a great combination overall. At $5 for a 4oz cup with two choices of flavours, Tom’s Palette is already very affordable. With Burpple Beyond’s 1-for-1 deal, it’s a steal! I’ll definitely be back for more awesome ice cream with or without the deal!

Seafood Roll Using Burpple 1 For 1 We ordered seafood roll (half lobster 🦞 half crab 🦀) 2 flavours 💸$23 + $2.30 service charge Maine-style: butter, lemon, mayo, celery salt, oregano, pepper & thyme - you can taste the freshness of the seafood since it’s not as heavily seasoned Chilli Crab sauce: crab, shrimp, anchovy, galangal, tomato, peanut, sesame & lemongrass - very flavourful, a great match with both seafood but slightly too salty for my tastebuds Waited 20min after ordering even though there were only a few orders before us. Since they changed move over from Chinatown, they only accept cash, paylah and paynow. Free flow of water.

Not Perfect. I don't think I can agree with some of the reviews below. I used the burpple beyond to redeem this and while I agree that the taste was good. I did not get the big chunks of lobster and seafood that was suggested by other reviewers. Without burpple beyond, I fear if may be a little too expensive. I would have liked that the buns got toasted a little longer and that the fillings were marinated better so that the filling would be more moist which can contrast better with a more toasted bun .

Fresh Lobster & Seafood Roll With Variety Of Sauces Ordered maine-style sauce and sg chill crab sauce. The latter sauce is more flavorful, definitely a must-try on your first visit. Do try their Whisky ice cream too! It’s refreshing and the alcohol taste is just right, not too strong. Special shout out about their $5 refillable fries too. It’s very value for money if you go in a group.
