Deconstructed Lemon Cheesecake ($11++) (Part 4 of 4) Note: All prices are subjected to 10% Service Charge and 7% GST - Lemon Cream Cheese Mousse, Almond Crumble, Mixed Berry Compote The dish turned out exactly as described. Strong lemon flavour from the mousse paired very well with the sweet almond crumble topping and base. The mousse was not too thick and very refreshing as well. However, the berry compote was literally ice-cold, bit into pieces of half-frozen berries and was a tad bit too tangy. So while it worked well with the almond crumble as well, when eating all the elements together, felt that the tartness feom the berries overwhelmed the dessert. Cheeseburger ($26++) (Part 3 of 4) Note: All prices are subjected to 10% Service Charge and 7% GST Served medium - House blend beef patty, Glazed bacon chop, Mushrooms, BBQ sauce, Fries, Slaw The Slaw had lots of mayo which may get a bit filling/'jelat' after awhile. The fries were crispy and above average. I don't really eat fries but I didn't mind nibbling on some of these. They were not overly salted as well. The burger came with a thick and juicy beef patty but when I bit into it, it was surprisingly flat and lacked much flavour. I would say for the beef patty alone, it's below average, at least based on what I've tried thus far. The brioche bun, whilst fluffy, could have been grilled/toasted slightly longer to make it crisp on the outside. Nevertheless, the sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, really THICK cuts (think the better word would be slabs) of bacon were really good. I felt like I was eating Western-style braised pork belly/kakuni. :) Overall, it's a good burger but the main component (beef patty), was slightly lacklustre. Smashed Avocado Toast ($15++) 19/10/19 (Part 2 of 4) Note: All prices are subjected to 10% Service Charge and 7% GST - Guacamole of tomatoes and corn, Poached eggs, Sourdough, Baby Radish, Furikake This was very clean tasting with creamy avocados and very well-cooked poached eggs. I particularly liked the sourdough, remaining a bit of crunch and crispiness though it had soaked up the juices from the avocados and the egg. 👉Casarecce with Truffle Pesto & Porcini Mushrooms👈 Located amongst the heritage-chic shophouses along Nankin Row (at @chinasquarecentral) is @sons.singapore, a buzzy rustic trattoria-style bar and restaurant that serves classic Italian fare with a touch of modernity. They also have a curated list of Italian wines🥂, craft beers🍻 & cocktails🍹 to enhance your dining experience. 。 It was my first time having this Sicilian twisted tube-shaped pasta which actually holds the truffle pesto sauce pretty well. However, I didn’t exactly like the texture of this pasta as it was kinda doughy for me. Overall, it was still a pretty decent meal. 。 Wanted to try their Spaghetti with Sea Urchin Carbonara but most reviews stated that the flavour was quite one-dimensional, with not much hint of sea urchin. 。 P.S. Magharita D.O.C. ($26) This new pizzeria's signature is a simple pizza, but less is more, especially for authentic Neapolitan pizza — the key is in fresh quality ingredients. The woodfire baked crust achieved an immaculate ratio between airy crispiness and chewiness, and their mozzarella, basil and cherry tomatoes are top notch (evident from the D.O.C. label).

Oh dear, the weekend is gonna fly PASTA again! ✈✈✈ Gotta treasure my Sunday! ❤ I am usually not a fan of cream-based PASTAs as they can get really heavy & surfeiting. 🤣 However, this Fettucine with shrimp in lemon cream sauce ($22++) at @pizza_logic_sg eased my worries! ✌🏻 . The tangy lemon zest 🍋 was pretty refreshing, making the cream sauce lighter on the palate. ✔ Coating every strand of pasta, the luscious sauce rendered an extremely creamy mouthfeel. Topped with springy prawns 🦐 & caviar for that luxurious touch, this was a winner! 💯 . Fans of tomato-based pastas 🍅 can try their Paccheri with Neapolitan meat sauce ($22++), which comes with a generous amount of meatballs & spare ribs! 🍝 The paccheri in tube shape was pretty new to me - reminded me of mee hoon kueh but thinner & smoother! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Albeit not fall-off-the-bone tender, the spare ribs were extremely flavourful & sufficiently succulent. 😋 . For meat-lovers or those on Keto, you can go for their Thin sliced Italian steak Tagliata ($32++), which features a slab of steak 🥩 topped with crisp Arugula & cherry tomatoes 🍅, drizzled with olive oil & balsamic vinegar. 👌🏻

Homemade cannoli cake stuffed with ricotta cheese, chocolate chips and mandarin orange zest And of course, I had to leave some space for dessert as no meal is complete without some sweet treats. The sole dessert on the limited-time only 'With love from Momma' menu, I couldn’t resist having the Homemade cannoli cake stuffed with ricotta cheese, chocolate chips and mandarin orange zest ($15++). It's my first cannoli cake and I am pleasantly surprised by the ricotta cheese filling - creamy with bits of citrusy zest and bittersweet chocolate chips. The mix of flavours were not at all cloying. The tangy sharpness from the pool of berry sauce also helped in cutting the richness. Everything was great, though it would be perfect if the crunchy Italian shell was slightly thinner in my opinion.

Orecchiette pasta in braised veal cheek ragout cooked in Manduria Primitivo red wine Available till 19 May, the special a la carte menu (With love from Momma) features authentic Southern Italian homestyle favourites prepared by Mrs. Maria Matera Carbotti - "Mamma Ria" - mother of Restaurant Manager Andreano Carbotti at Waterfall Ristorante Italiano. Hence, for something more indulgent, beefed up with the Orecchiette pasta in braised veal cheek ragout cooked in Manduria Primitivo red wine ($38++). Robust, succulent and meltingly tender, it is the dish to go for if you are looking for a meat-heavy pasta meal in my opinion. The shredded parmesan was also a nice touch to amp up the richness. Furthermore, the al dente homemade pasta acted like little scoops, holding the sauce and delivering burst of beefy goodness with each spoon.

From now till Sunday (19 May 2019), savour authentic Southern Italian homestyle favourites prepared by Mrs. Maria Matera Carbotti - mother of Restaurant Manager Andreano Carbotti at Waterfall Ristorante Italiano with the limited-time only 'With love from Momma' menu. The homemade Cavatelli pasta sautéed with mixed seafood in light tomato sauce ($36++) was a delight. Tangy with a tickle of spice, the flavours were surprisingly mild and leaned towards the sweet. Not over the top, the combination was homely and well-executed with the use of plump seafood - fresh mussels, clams and prawns.

But we loved the bright and unique combination of ingredients, which resulted in a pleasant contrast of vegetal sweet salty savoury meaty flavour. . Margherita DOP (SGD $25) @ Amò. This won our hearts with its clean-tasting, bright, simple vegetal sweet bready flavours. . Their signature pizza dough is made with natural leaven, semolina, a secret aged yeast starter, and extra virgin olive oil. . The result is a pizza crust with a beautiful, thin, crispy edge, however, the center tends to be soft, doughy, and limp, unable to support the ingredients. . In classic Italian style, this is garnished with fresh tender basil leaves, San Marzano tomato passata (which is light but juicy fresh), and creamy Denominazione Di Origine Protetta (DOP) buffalo mozzarella cheese. .
