Smashed Avocado Toast (SGD $15) @ Rookery. . New brunch item!. . This was better than we expected. . The difference here is they've mixed the mashed avocado with corn kernels, creating a creamy grainy guacamole. . Served over crisp toasted sourdough bread, with bright cherry tomatoes, soft avocado slices, nicely poached eggs, crisp red radish, and sprinkled with crunchy furikake bits. . Has lovely vegetal eggy sweet bready sour flavours. Would order again. . Drop by if you're in the CBD! They also have a good range of drinks for an evening tipple. . Invited tasting courtesy of @rookerysg, @jeremeliang, @msginginly. . . . Rookery More details in profile & blog
Chocolate Lava Cake (SGD $14) @ Rookery. . Served with a rich creamy scoop of French vanilla bean gelato, plated with a mixed berry compote (strawberry and blueberry), and grainy almond crumble. . The dark chocolate lava cake has a moist, warm, soft spongy texture, with bold chocolatey bitter sweet flavour. . However, the filling of chocolate sauce could be more generous, as it barely flows out when cut. Still, a tasty dessert. . Invited tasting. . . . Rookery More details in profile & blog
Grilled Mackerel In Garlic, Tomato, White Wine Stew (SGD $24) @ Rookery. . New seasonal special !. . Large fillets of grilled mackerel fish are served with a lovely gravy of tomatoes, garlic, and white wine, along with tender roasted baby potatoes. . The fish is flaky and moist with good salty savoury smoky flavour, complementing the bright vegetal sweet notes of the gravy. Portion is meant to be shared. . Invited tasting. . . . I think even Zac EFRON would approve of this SAFFRON cream pasta! 😉😉😉 . If you do not already know, saffron is a luxurious spice that makes rare appearances in dishes due to its high cost. 💰 To be honest, I still cannot pinpoint how saffron tastes like, but if the saffron is the main star in achieving the taste of this creamy pasta, I can safely say that I LOVE IT! ❤❤❤ . This plate of Stracci Ai Gamberi E Capesante ($27++) was really the star of the table! ⭐⭐⭐ My first time trying a saffron cream base! Features fresh handmade pasta with scallops, prawns, green peppercorn with saffron cream sauce. 😍 . I applaud the homemade pasta that is thin but with a good texture & chew so it doesn’t feel overly starchy. 😋😋😋 Smooth & luscious cream sauce coating every slice of this chewy pasta is simply heavenly. The green peppercorns are no longer spicy but add a pleasant popping sensation when you bite into them. 👍🏻 . There is room for improvement in the seafood though! Both the textures of the prawns & scallops were decent but I could not taste any natural sweetness from both of them at all. 😔 It was quite a disappointment compared to the pasta & sauce that really shone! . My advice is to SHARE this plate with someone as its 100% richness might burden your palate a bit. No matter how good a food item is, it’s always best to keep it at a small portion. Otherwise, this is a MUST-TRY at Pasta Brava in my opinion! 💕 What’s more - you can enjoy this at 1-for-1 for a 3-course meal using #BurppleBeyond - so worth it! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Satisfying Meal Beef raviolis , Burrata cheese - highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 worthy of a return visit soon!
So So Experience Service: 3/5 Food: 3/5 Ambience : 3/5 We were seated at their sister company because our reserved table wasn't ready After 15 past our reservation time Lagsane was good Carbonara is poorly done Vongole was under cooked Waffles are too sweet Apple cake & key lime was not bad Tiramisu worth the try Dessert was half its usual size due to burpple promo All in all: not worth using beyond promotion We had lobster bisque & minestrone, which both was below expectations Mushroom soup was much better

Found this Italian gem tucked in the private estate of Seletar Hills. Surprisingly, their Ali di Pollo Fritte ($19) was a winner. It's their rendition of the American buffalo wings, and the lemon juice was well balanced with the BBQ sauce and herbs - neither overpowered the other. . Their pizzas were made in house and I liked that they were made in a traditional wood fired oven. The crust was just nice, crispy with a slight chew. It was one of those rare times that two of us could really finish one whole pizza without feeling bloated. Our Pizza Carnivora ($26) also saw generous servings of the toppings, making it absolutely delightful. The Ravioli al Granchio e Aragosta ($26) was disappointing nevertheless. There was a strong fishy smell the the filling of crabmeat and lobster and it didn't really taste fresh . It's a humble Italian restaurant that does serve us traditional Italian food and I'll definitely be back again, but I'll be sure to give the ravioli a miss. . Capellini Al Granchio Ordered the capellini with crabmeat in pink sauce which was real worth it after using the 1 for 1 on burpple beyond. The pasta was slightly over cooked unfortunately but the flavor made up for it. The crabmeat was quite sweet and there were nice kicks of spiciness from the sauce that coated the pasta really well. The sauce was garlicky as well and I love garlic. Portions here are very generous and could easily be a sharing portion but service here can be improved, our food seemed to take quite awhile to arrive at most tables.
Crabmeat Linguine in Pink Sauce from Pietro! One of my favourite dishes here. It's so well executed. There are strands of crabmeat covering every al dente pasta noodle, all held together by a delicious tomato cream sauce. Price: $25 #halfeatenblog #pietro #pasta #crabmeat #burpple

Starting your day right with chicken and waffles at @lavosingapore ! The crispy chicken breast wasn’t dry and I asked for a non-spicy version, the menu advertised it as spiced chicken breast. The staff were very friendly to accommodate my order. The waffles were abit more nua that expect but still the fluffy kind! It might not look like it, but it was very filling! Didn’t manage to finish it! Even planned to get the 20 layers devils chocolate cake but I had underestimated their chicken and waffles!!🤣 🍗 The view from Lavo is so refreshing! My parents usually hated the sun but they spent some time looking through the telescopes to spot buildings in the CBD area. 🍗 Will be back to try more food soon!

Lovely evening Came as it was on burpple beyond. Service was abit slow but their food made it all worth it! Had their Ravioli and Gnocchi first which was so delicious we savoured every bit of it. Also ordered two more pizzas, Primavera and Buffalina. And we felt that the Primavera was more unique and more flavorful. Was really full with 2 pastas and 2 pizzas for 4 pax, but it was so satisfying we will return again even without burpple beyond. Only downside was service was slow and we had to wait long even though it was quite empty on a friday night.

Primavera $22, Buffalina $22, 2 Peroni draft $10 The top pic is the primavera, its flavorful and rich. The bottom pic is juicier and tasty. Personally i prefer the Buffalina if u asked me to choose. Both pizza are yummy actually. The peroni draft $10 for 2 its a steal. Definitely i will revisit this place, will try out their pasta.
Ravioli & Buffalina Pizza We ordered the Buffalina pizza and Ravioli! Loved the bread cover of the ravioli, which was a good match w the creamy base of the ravioli. However, you can get sick of the cream base if you have too much of it, as we usually do with all creamy food. The bread was served warm, and not to mention its complimentary. The portion was huge and we couldn’t finish with just 2 of us, so we kindly got the staff to pack the remaining pizza for us. It was a quiet restaurant with few diners, the ambience’s pretty nice. As we came by public transport, we had to walk a bit before we reached the yacht club. Will probably take the car/cab the next time I visit this place! Damage done was only $25 before GST with Burpple Beyond! Yum!!
