A long winding alleyway, almost claustrophobic with wires and lanterns and decorations and buildings, surrounded on both sides with smokey bbq filled eateries. Each restaurant, just one room for maybe 10-12 people sat together around the cooking station. We picked the only one that seemed to have any spaces and perched on stools whilst ladies prepared our kushiyaki (skewers of veg, seafood and meat for huzbo). One of the most atmospheric meals I’ve ever had. As there weren’t tonnes of veggie options I had garlic skewers (literally cloves on a stick, grilled!), green peppers, and mushrooms. Washed down with plum wine which was worth the next day’s headache 😹
