I watch Anthony Bourdain’s “Layover”, “No Reservations” and “Parts Unknown” so I surprised myself when I could identify various food establishments vouched by the man himself when I explore Europe. Behind St James Bakery is someone Anthony respects and whom I remember to be paradoxically highly innovative with his menu yet a creature of habit. I came across 3 St James Bakery and/ Restaurant in London and it was finally time to get a loaf to take home when I spotted this garage like bakery shop. My white baguette was of impeccable standard- no artificial aftertaste but just simple ingredients done right. It was tough and crunchy when heated over a pan- good on its own or along with light artisan cheese.
