Before coming to Toronto, I compiled a food list for different cuisines and Sugo was at the top of my Italian food list for their huge portions and affordable pricing.

We got the spaghetti bolognese with a gigantic meatball added on, which seems to be what most people get because well, it looks great. The spaghetti was cooked al dente and I liked the tomato sauce - totally mopped it up. It was nice and herby, although on the thinner side, which was actually good in this case because it made finishing the mountain of pasta easier. The meat chunks were also pretty generous, and I particularly liked the sprinkle of chopped basil leaves on top because it gave the pasta a more complex flavour. The meatball was huge and coated in a layer of cheese, which I can’t say no to. Quite liked it, although it was a little bit dry inside, and felt like it was a bit too much with the pasta. (I’m a small eater though lol, I couldn’t walk properly after this meal because I was too full.)

The service here was quite good too, the waitstaff are all so happy and explain the menu to you nicely if it’s your first time. Needless to say, we had a severe food coma after eating this. Completely wiped out. But before that, we still managed to get a slice of shawarma pizza from Chito’s pizza to go. ($3 and so much shawarma, what more could you ask for? You have to try it!)
