Looked really appetising before I dug in but the battered chicken got soggy quite quickly in the sauce, which also lacked any substantial pepper punch. Satisfactory in a merely perfunctory way.

Mindblowingly spicy basil chicken spiked with chilli padi, but oh so good, well-seasoned with fish sauce and the right ratio of salty to sweet, plus the crunchiness of long beans and sliced onion adds to the enjoyment. This tastes pretty authentic and I would definitely order it again.

This dry version of YTF comes with their special minced meat fried with garlic which I've never seen anywhere else. I personally dislike the pungent smell and taste that garlic gives off but the way they managed it is 👍! What's also different about their YTF is that they don't have fanciful choices (i.e. you don't have to pick what you want, it comes fixed). $3 for 5 pcs with bee hoon - I think it's pretty reasonable!
I usually eat laksa or YTF from specific stalls and this is definitely one stall I always patronise when I'm in this area. Laksa YTF with cockles at only $3 thick and savoury gravy! Try their YTF with beehoon or kway teow dry. You'll be impressed! (At least I am!)
It's said that this nasi briyani stall has a main branch at Katong. It's enough to feed 2 small eaters and you get a choice of fish, chicken or mutton. This plate of chicken briyani costs about $5 and rightfully comes with 2 pieces of crackers (but was sold out).
