10 tiny ones, it's pricey but we dont really have a choice when good madeleines are so damn hard to Find here. This is literally only the second time in my life ive had crispy ones

And crispy they were. I got the orange flavour and the zest comes thru, mostly aroma so thats great. Interior texture was not bad too

They freshly bake it, literally. You have to pay before you order, then wait 10mins for them to bake. Or you can try calling ahead as well, it worked for me but thats not the usual SOP apparently

H20 dessert was rly great! Decadent dark chocolate coupled with yuzu sorbet and chocolate mouse. Was a rly layered & complex flavour that I enjoyed

Been a long time since I last came here, I remember the menu being a bit fancier last time. The range of desserts is rather limited now. Most of the desserts and cocktails and quite reasonably priced, $12 for a small cocktail, $20 for a full glass, this chocolate dessert was $22. (Theres a min spend of $20/person)

The chocolate was really good, light and fluffy, doesn’t get jelak. They even gave us 2 chocolate truffles on the house at the end of the night!

The ambiance was nice, pretty spacious and doesn’t get too noisy, a great place to chill and chat.

✨Yuzu Cheesecake and Mango✨
This is my favourite dessert from this place. The cheesecake was light yet creamy, but also not too jelak. The yuzu on top was sweet and sour, matches perfectly with the not-so-sweet cheesecake below. Mango and yuzu are two flavours that goes really well together, as they are both fruity yet they do not have a strong flavour. I recommend eating everything together; mango ice cream, yuzu cheesecake and the crunchy bits. It will be a mix of multiple flavours and textures, but somehow they complement one another. 💯

💰: $18

✨”Twix”✨
The whole dessert is rich and heavy, with the dark chocolate overpowering the dessert. The bottom is crunchy, just like a twix. This goes well with the creamy chocolate ice cream, but I wish the ice cream was a lighter flavour like vanilla. I’m usually a fan of light and fluffy dessert, but this is a good dessert if you are a dark chocolate lover!

[ Dessert Review ] Was very sullenly sitting in my room still feeling very under the weather and lamenting the lack of sweets at home, when a certain someone came to the rescue with these teeny toothsome treats from 2am:deseertbar!

He sent over two boxes: One was filled with adorable matcha madeleines, and the other with dainty strawberry financiers, with each set containing ten bite-sized, freshly baked — yes you read that right — little cakes (bonus: they don’t have cream on them too ahhh!). At 9pm. Love the modern conveniences of living in a city!

You know how even when you’re dining out, you rarely get the luxury of warm, made-to-order dessert? Now you can get that delivered to your doorstep! What bliss!

The madeleines were fluffy and light without feeling too porous nor spongey; these aren’t like the Japanese variants that are heavy with butter, and overly honeyed — they were sweet enough to satisfy my craving while still letting the slight bitter tinge of matcha shine through!

The financiers — which I tend to prefer, heh — were gorgeous! The strawberry was prominent in every bite without overpowering the cake’s innate almond fragrance; the edges were browned crisp and gave great texture contrast against the moist centre — I struggled to not eat all ten at a go because of how satisfying the eating experience was!

As someone who never found a reason to go to 2am:db, this just tipped my ambivalence over. I’m totally up for paying for well-made sweets (or any food really, heh), I was mainly swayed by naysayers claiming the items here are overpriced and subpar. When we can finally dine out again, you bet a certain someone and I are making a special trip down to enjoy their more elaborate creations!
