Took a break from the hip cafés for a cup of aromatic local "kopi". According to our cab driver, this stall inside Imbi Market is popular for authentic Hainanese-style coffee (although it says "Hainan Tea" on their signboard). He's right - it was packed to the gills. And my cup of "kopi" was awesome.
Watch wok wizardry at work along the pavement and taste the fruit of it seated indoors behind the cooking area. As we were approaching the end of our "makan" trail, we could only squeeze these two dishes into our almost-bursting bellies - the crunchy-wisped, flavour-packed butter prawn dish made with the roe of prawns and the slippery "lou shu fan" (rice noodles shaped like mouse tails, also known as "mee tai mak") The former was a big hit with all of us while the latter was pretty good too. But noodle to noodle, we felt it paled a bit in comparison to the famous Petaling Street Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Mee.

I have made a promise to myself that a pilgrimage to "Wong Mee Kee (王美记) Hai Lam Chicken Rice & Roast Pork" at 30, Jalan Nyonya, is a must anytime I am in KL.
Noodles are handmade on the spot. So springy! Sells out for lunch at 1pm. Highly recommended.
The star of Sri Hartamas, a rising success of two fairly young entrepreneurs have led this cafe to its name today. The highly experienced baristas pull off one of the best coffees around in KL, no overstating required. Their staples are the standard Eggs Benedict and also the chicken avocado sandwich. Its sophisticated decor with surrounding glass panels letting in natural light, needless to say, it's the brightest way to start your day.
The only way the Burpplers gonna do- a hip street side pre-dinner. Really quality oven cooked thin crusted margarita pizza. Definitely be back again.
