Tao Kuro Special It’s been awhile since my last visit to Ippudo for their ramen. Was at River Valley area and decided to come here for some ramen craving. The Tao Kuro features a thick, chewy noodle; which you could choose the hardness. It is served in their original tonkotsu broth, topped with slices of pork belly chashu, flavoured black fungus, lots of spring onion and umami-dama (a special blend of miso paste and garlic oil).

Akamaru Shinaji ($16) Bought a chope voucher to try this at $9.90 nett. For tamago you would have to top up $3. Abit pricey. The noodle texture is great, but the soup is a bit salty. I would still prefer Santouka Shio for soup and Ichiran for best overall ramen.

Garlic-ky Yums!!! Taste: Garlic Pork Broth Ramen. The meat melted in my mouth and the wobbly egg just taste sooo good. Broth was rich and palatable. Simply yummy. Noodles were cooked to the right texture and hardness. Great combination of all the ingredients. Atmosphere: Clean and well-maintained store. Simple furnishing and soothing to the eyes. Service: Staff was very friendly and prompt to response. Food was served within 10 minutes. Great service! Price: ~$16 Where to find this place: Near UE Square

Tokusen Miso Those people in early days would familiar with this Sapporo style ramen place. Sapporo Ramen Miharu used to be at former Gallery Hotel before moving to Millenia Walk, and closed earlier. Moving forward to present day, they actually came back once again. Recently Meidi-Ya brought them back under their new food court at Millenia Walk. So now you could continue to enjoy their signature ramen, like the one I gotten; which is no.1 item on the menu for the past 25 years. This authentic flavours of Sapporo ramen was very tasty and rich taste of miso broth. Filled with lots of ingredients such as the egg, sliced pork and corns.

Shoyu Ramen (seafood & fish-based) Miharu boasts an extensive selection of ramen bases - I was spoilt for choice. I eventually chose seafood shoyu ramen while my friend picked fish shoyu ramen. Perhaps my order was confused with my friend’s, but the seafood shoyu ramen tasted heavily of bonito whereas the fish ramen was much lighter. I ended up swapping ramen bowls with my friend bc I preferred her lighter soup. I was a tad disappointed - I saw alot of reviews praising their food, but I thought it was pretty average. For their price point ($17-18), I could’ve tried places with better quality. Nonetheless, I still finished the entire bowl. A plus point would be their egg - a perfectly molten center with a salty touch from it’s marination.

Black Garlic Oil Ramen $18! Ramen was packed with garlic fragrance and soup was very rich. Noodles stayed firm throughout the meal. This new ramen is definitely worth a try!
