Absolutely lovely coffee If you are looking for solid coffee in an aesthetic environment, look no further as @alchemist.sg had done it right. They have repurposed the old Khong Guan factory as their cafe, giving it a good mix of both retro and modern vibes! I ordered the Iced Latte ($7) and it was such an enjoyable cup. It was not too acidic, yet strong enough with deep hazelnut and chocolate notes. It had the perfect amount of milk for the strength of coffee. I loved that it was smooth and rich, perfectly for a long sip throughout the afternoon. If I'm around the area, I'm definitely coming back to Alchemist for a good coffee break!

Chocolate Hazelnut Danish Gotten this pastry to go with my cup of mocha. And I must say the chocolate is definitely very creamy and sticky. Fluffy danish with messy chocolate and hazelnut on the top. Just love the combination of flavour and texture.

Mocha Housed under the heritage industrial building at Tai Seng, surprisingly a very peaceful vibe on Sunday morning. Here for a cup of warm mocha to begin my day.

My Favourite Neighbourhood Coffee Place! ✨White✨ This coffee is more bitter than sour, which is the kind I prefer. This coffee is actually quite strong, so do order one less shot if you get headaches from coffee🥸 💰: $5.50 📈: 9/10 ✨Mocha✨ Their mocha tastes quite like dark chocolate, which is abit too much for me, but I still enjoyed it. The chocolate-y taste overpowers the coffee, hence it tastes more like a hot chocolate than a mocha (or maybe I just like my coffee strong😜) 💰: $7 📈: 8/10

Coffee on a Sunday Afternoon An Oat Chai ($7) and a White ($5.50). There’s a shared dining space between Glass Roasters and the neighbouring ice cream place. It was not open for seating when we came around 11am-12pm. The chai was good, not too sweet and spicy enough. Could be more spicy for my preference. Service was meh.

Iced White A cozy cafe in the west. Tucked in a quiet neighbourhood, together with @gelatolabo in a 2-in-1 shop concept, a fairly chill place to spend my lazy afternoon.

Afternoon tea set Upscale casual restaurant that celebrates Southeast Asian flavours and crossroads. Starting with savory, we enjoyed the 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐓𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰/ 𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐫, an indulgent buttery and creamy bite. The 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐄𝐠𝐠 was a mix of rendang with oozy egg and a crispy breading. Rich and flavourful with a strong spicy kick. The 𝐊𝐮𝐞𝐡 𝐏𝐢𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐞 was generously packed and balanced but did wish for the shell to be more crisp. Moving on to sweet, 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐣𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞 & 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐡’𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞 was a delightful sweet and savory mix of feta cheese and date encased in crispy and flaky pastry. Our personal favourite was the mango sticky rice. Also had the classic traditional kuehs of 𝐊𝐮𝐞𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐭 and 𝐊𝐮𝐞𝐡 𝐊𝐨 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞. Comes with free flow tea or coffee. Spicy vodka rigatoni ($35) 🍝 9/10 If you're an indecisive person like me, opt for this! The red pasta was giving me both tart and creamy. The spiciness wasn't overwhelming but complemented the al dente rigatoni. Overall a really amazing dish and I had a hard time deciding between choosing this and the cacio e Pepe as my favourite!

Cacio e Pepe ($35) 🍜 10/10 It's a wonder how the sauce was only made of cheese and pepper, and no heavy cream! The pasta was so decadent and creamy that I completely forgot what a simple dish this was. This dish inspired me to try making it myself but of course I came nowhere close.

Tagliatelle Al Granchio Crabmeat stirred into a creamy tomato sauce what’s not to love?? They could’ve been abit more generous with the crabmeat but there was still a decent amount in every bite and it was fresh as well. The sauce really won me over in this dish as the cream partnered perfectly with the slightly tangy tomato sauce and lusciously coated the pasta. Portion of pasta was generous too and would order this again if I come back!!

Bosco d’Inverno This pizza came topped with truffled mascarpone, mushrooms and shaved truffles and drizzled with truffle oil. It seemed like a lot of truffle components but thankfully the flavor wasn’t too overpowering. I especially liked the crisp crust with slight charred bits which gave the pizza a slight bitterness that complemented the creamy and rich toppings. I didn’t quite like the mushrooms however as they seemed to be cooked in a way that didn’t really pair well with the cheeses.

Spaghetti Vongole Classic pasta dish done pretty well!! but not sure whether I would fork out close to $30 for this as they weren’t super generous with the clams. The olive oil, chili, garlic and white wine emulsified really nicely and coated the pasta making it rather addictive. Pasta was cooked al dente as well but you might wanna check out their 2 course lunch sets at $20 nett!!

Hay & Apples I was pretty excited to pay @nosleepclubsg a visit as they’d received the Campari One To Watch Award 2020 from the organisers of Asia’s 50 Best Bars. I ordered a 𝐇𝐚𝐲 & 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬, which is a highball made of scotch whisky sous vide with toasted hay and served with fermented apple chamomile honey. This drink is smoky and sweet, with a hint of earthiness from the toasted hay. What I enjoy about this drink is that it’s not too sweet, and it’s boozy but doesn't hit you as hard as some whisky-based drinks do. Super easy and enjoyable to drink! The cosy interior makes @nosleepclubsg perfect for good conversations over some tasty interesting tipples🥂!

Basque Cheesecake 16.0(Inclusive Of Gst) So it's 14.95+(gst). The service was really good(this dashing 20yo Swedish? who spoke perfect English) and you're supposed to tip but the quality of the food really made that difficult It tastes exactly like an NY to me, idk why. First of all the cheesecake doesn't flow AT ALL. Though they explained it's meant to be that way, to go with the ice cream. Cheesecake itself was executed decently but it's nothing special about it at all. Take note this is 16 before service charge(tips in this case). Olivia's one is 14 lol Salted caramel ice cream was more like shoyu ice cream, it's watery and very salty. Come here for the service team. Srsly though, they're pretty cool

An absolutely stunning Sunday Roast It’s been awhile since I had a Sunday roast (complete with Yorkshire pudding and gravy mind you), so when I saw this on No Sleep Club’s weekend offerings it earned an immediate “HELL YEAH!!!” from us. If you could say no to this beautiful plate of food, well shame on you. That’s all I have to say. You’ve got a choice between roast pork or beef ($35), and while I’m sure the pork would make a fab option as well I was mighty pleased we got the beef. Thicc, tender, absolutely succulent, and perfectly seasoned too with a wonderfully smokey and charred crust. The accompanying gravy was on point as well: rich and aromatic, thick and nicely reduced without any starchy fillers. Put that with sides of roasted potatoes, sautéed spinach and shrooms, and some crisp puffy Yorkshire puddings, and you’ve got yourself a Sunday deliciously spent 🤤🤤🤤

Mee kia - Broth was cloudy, very flavourful and murky with floating bits of savoury minced pork fat and fragrant fried garlic without an overwhelming porky taste, could tell it’s been simmered for long! - Noodles were soft probably from the boiling hot soup, like a comforting bowl of slightly overcooked instant noodles, absorbing the deep flavour of the broth. - Wontons had a silky smooth skin containing peppery minced meat 😋 - Meatballs had a firm bite and seemed to be handmade, but could’ve given more.

Soup Bak Chor Mee Located in an old kopitiam opposite Shake Shack, this stall only sell soup version of Bak Chor Mee. So die hard fans of dry Bak Chor Mee can stop reading this review now. Arrived at 1pm and found a queue with 8 in front of me. Waited for about 15 mins. Ordered mee kia, large portion for $6 and added a half boiled egg for $0.70. You can add pepper, spring onions and sliced chilli but there was no lard to be found. Cook will add fried garlic for you. The soup is legit good, full of meat flavour and not from salt or MSG. Inside you get three dumplings, couple of meat balls and loads of Bak Chor. Break the egg yolk and stir into the soup to give it a more silky taste. Imagine a Tai Hwa Pork Noodles soup version with egg. Kopitiam can be very crowded during lunch time as the roast meat and handmade noodles stalls are equally popular. Go earlier if possible.

Soup Bak Chor Mee This place is a hidden gem considering most of the soup bak chor mee are located in the east. I ordered the large bowl($5.50), which had a quite few meatballs and wantons! The soup was heavenly and I'm certain I'll be coming back soon to have this again!
