Tonkotsu Ramen - with all the toppings Oh the broth was amazing and lovely. It was very rich, and I chose the normal seasoning it was a bit on the salty side for me, but still ok I just couldn’t finish all the soup it was a lot. As usual I slurped up the noodles as is the traditional way of eating ramen.

Black Tonkotsu Ramen Special | $15.90 Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King was my go-to ramen place a long time ago when there were much fewer ramen restaurants around, and it has been a while since I have been back. The Black Tonkotsu Ramen special is meant to be tonkotsu broth with black garlic flavour, and the more decadent option with flavoured egg, seaweed, and more chashu. I however thought that the tonkotsu broth was not as rich as I remembered it to be, and the garlic — both in aroma and taste was underwhelming. Disappointing especially since I got the black tonkotsu for the garlic punch. The egg was also sorely lacking in flavour, and the chashu was on the drier side. Rate:🌟

Eggs Benedict Started 2024 with a promise to wake up early for breakfast every Sundays/PB holidays. No more lunch time sunday wake ups for this guy here. And eggs benedicts was of coz the most Atas of all breakfast to reward myself for waking up at 6am on New Year's day. Extra reward for waking up when it's raining too. Custard Chou Chou Basically an awesome Custard filled donut. They have a variety of French pastries here, and all look damn awesome. The chou chou is Sinful and a must have here at choupinette. Which are basically donuts.

3-Course Dinner \\ Escargot Clean, tender and juicy escargot cooked in garlic parsley butter then served warm. The garlicky sauce is almost as delicious as the escargot themselves! \\ Chicken Fricassee Pieces of chicken meat braised at low temperature with white cream sauce. Served with a side of potato gratin and salad. The chicken was breast meat hence they are a little tough in texture but the light and creamy sauce sort of compensates for the dryness. The rich and creamy potato gratin was good and I wished it came in a slightly bigger share. \\ Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream Warm and nutty chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This dessert fell short of expectations. The size of the brownie is quite small in comparison with the scoop of ice cream. The ice cream was icier and lacks a creamy texture. Thanks to Burpple Beyond, we get to enjoy 2 sets of $70 3-Course Dinner Menu for the price of 1 ✌

This is a #throwback to DOC! Really awesome and quality food serve here.. By far the best scramble eggs I ever tried! I And waffle is very excellent as well! I would give the waffle and the egg a perfect score! Really well done! Unfortunately this place is close! Hopfully they will be back!Pls! Come back!!!!

Quality Food DOC always delivering and never disappointing! this pull pork sandwich was delicious mmm well seasoned pork with the creamiest scrambled eggs. Not forgetting good ass coffee!

Valhorna Chocolate Waffles with butterscotch ice cream, maple syrup, raspberry sauce, fresh strawberries ($20). Due to the dark chocolate batter, the waffles turn out to be thick and dense but love the butterscotch ice cream that goes well with it. Sourish raspberry sauce and sweet strawberries prevent you from chocolate overdose.

Ginger Lemonade / Iced Lemon Tea The ginger lemonade is made using actual fresh ginger juice. I like how the zing of fresh ginger plays off that sweet-tart base 》$6 Each

Miso Pork Belly Bowl The miso pork belly bowl comes with homemade pickled cabbage, yakiniku sauce, onsen egg, sesame seed, spring onion and chunky slices of pork belly laid on top. The pork belly was thick and slightly charred to a nice burnt flavour. It was tender and juicy but I couldn’t taste the miso. Dipping it with the yakinuku sauce helps with the flavouring 》$17.90

Chilli Crab Pasta Spaghetti cooked with homemade chilli crab sauce and curry leaves, presented with a crunchy soft shell crab on top. The pasta was al-dente with a chewy bite. The sauce was done with the right amount of sweetness and a tinge of spiciness 》$18.90

The food is to die for Love everything about this cafe/bar. The ambience, the food, the drinks, it’s all amazing. The shakshouka and the waffles are probably the best ones I have tried in sg. It’s amazing and the portions are huge. Though pricey, I would say it’s worth it.

Taste worth trying The mains come in halves so it’s easy to share with a friend. The meat was tender and flavourful, and e toast was buttery and amazing on its own. Enjoyed the eggs benedict and the pork confit. Will definite come again with more people to try out more stuff!

Berry waffles Waffles thick and crispy. Berry yogurt flavoured ice cream not too sweet. Medley of flavours and textures with crunchy granola too

Crab cake Benedict Benedict (poached egg with creamy cheese) on in-house crab cake (texture a little like hash brown but more seafood creamy taste) on sour dough. Sided with some salad veg. $20. Good creamy egg as breakfast.

Pulled Pork and Avocado Eggs Benedict Should be better in terms of flavour. Ordered this dish because of good reviews. However, when taking a bite, the taste of food was overpowering. Had to dabble with egg to balance out the flavour of pulled pork. To put it simply, it was salty. Cost: $20

Truffle Eggs & Mushroom Do you willing to be the early bird on the weekend to come and in the early morning and get their breakfast? They opened at 8:30am on weekend to offer their breakfast menu until 10:30am, before they change to brunch menu afterward. You would get to enjoy the morning scenery here and see the sun slowly rise up. Their truffle eggs & mushroom is definitely a great meal to begin the day. The sourdough toast is topped with truffle scrambled egg, creamy mushroom, arugula and parmesan cheese. The truffle is strong but not too overwhelmed, good mix of taste as you eat them together with the mushroom. Portion is good enough.

Thick Doesn't Mean Better I didn't expect any wok hey from the Hokkien Mee ($29++), & that indeed was the case. Love how generous the portion is & how plentiful the ingredients are.. .. But the sauce was too thick & so salty that I couldn't finish my last bite of noodles. This rarely happens, but it was just too much. Ultimately, I wouldn't order this again. Their western food options have tended to fair better in my books, but I was really craving local cuisine having just spent 3 weeks in Europe.. TCS High Tea🍵 Went to TCS a few days ago and had their High Tea Set for 3 ($19/pax) and a Fried Fish with Avocado side ($17)!😇 Food was not bad (charsiew and otah, puffs, bread with salami and mushrooms, anddd cakes and macaroons were sweet) Vibes were greattt tho😍 Really chill n cozy date spot but sadly its very far... Overall ratings 8/10! Would head back in the future for special occasions and to try other menu items😋

For An All-Day English Affair Good British food is hard to come by in Singapore, and The Ascot has happily answered that. With quintessential British gastropub fare, you're in for a really fun meal here. Grab a shuttle bus from Botanic Gardens or Newton station to The Grandstand with a few good friends for some cider, scotch eggs, cold cuts, bangers n mash, bread pudding and fried Mars bars. Early Mornings in Joo Chiat with One of the Best Pratas in Singapore Whenever I find myself in Joo Chiat in the morning, I’m always spoilt for choice. But one dish usually reigns supreme—Mr and Mrs Mohgan’s Super Crispy Prata. As the name suggests, the crisp factor is unreal, and trust me, one is never enough. My go-to order? A kosong + telur combo. The default comes with fish curry, but here’s a pro tip: ask for a side of sambal with ikan bilis. The combination of fish curry + sambal with prata? Absolutely next-level comfort food.

Extended hours? We were strolling in Joo Chiat and saw them open. It was a surprise but we just ordered two slices. Still very good to me, but the fiancee felt the standard has dropped since Mr Mohgan passed away.

Plain & Plaster Prata Back to Mr and Mrs Mohgan's for their crispy prata. Although missing Mr Mohgan now, their prata is still as crispy as before. Everything else feels the same.
