Review: I've never had many lamb dishes in my life. Simply because quality Lamb meat dishes in SG or there are just too expensive. Well New Zealand is a different ball game altogether. After you visit them, you get to eat them in a posh setting at a very reasonable price. This lamb rack is succulent, well seasoned with a crusted finish. Best thing is, you can't taste any sour lamb taste that usually accompany local Coffeeshop lamb steaks. My tsstebuds were sprouting rainbows with each bite. It's not cheap yet it tastes really good. Now I'm so confused. Either way. Drop by if you are in Queenstown!

Costs: 75nzd for 2. Tastes like: 90nzd for 2. Review: Soft and tender medium rare beef. Fresh tomatoes roasted off the fine. Beetroot salad. Truffle mash potatoes. I don't even need to say much for you to know this is seriously yummy. The bunker isn't cheap, but trust me when I say the dishes here are very well made. Highly recommended.

Review: Shoyu always make for a nice salty base with a hint of zingy sweetness. Soup base here was decent and you can top up for set meals with their fantastic gyozas. They use the thin yellow noodles which isn't my preferred choice but it still made for a hearty meal. Do check them out when you're in town for an affordable and definitely filling meal.

Review: Let's not kid ourselves shall we. This plate may have more vegetables and no pork lard in it but it ain't no salad. The funny thing is, I actually enjoyed it more than the usual plate I get around my place. There was crunch from the vegetables and the sauce was mildly sweet and not too oily. Portion size is on the smaller side so do get the $4 portion if you're feeling hungry.

Review: Snow waffles... Yum. These waffles definitely have a fluffy crunch that is pretty satisfying. Good presentation on a rock slab like thing but portion size wise was a little dismal for the price. I was barely halfway through the ice cream and my waffles just died on me.
As for the ice cream, I took Dutch chocolate and hazelnut which costed me $1 extra each. Dutch chocolate was pretty good with a rich creamy texture and some bittersweet nuances. Hazelnut was just so so for me, as I'm not fond of overly sweet ice cream that just overwhelms the entire palate.

Their waffles go for $9.50 with a single scoop with an option to add $3 for the second.

Paid: $4.65. Tastes like: $5.90. Review: O Hark all ye Burpplers! Finally something tastes more than it actually costs! Interesting concept of having coffee in the form of ice cubes which melts into a cup of milk. Great way to keep your iced coffee from diluting but guess what? You actually want the ice cubes to melt completely before you, more likely than not, finish the milk in the cup. Not quite sure if it's ingenious or just gimmicky but the place sure is beautiful and great place to store some Instagram photos. Quite a steal at this price don't you think? *P.S. Review: I call this the luxury grade ice kachang. Imagine insanely soft and fluffy ice shavings that melts like clouds instead of your usual sandy ice textures. I liked the cheesecakes but honestly the vanilla ice cream and ice flavours were quite tasteless and average. A* for the presentation though. being brand obsessed Singaporeans, this dessert probably looks at home next to you in your "me and my high life" Instagram post. But if you're looking for a really tasty treat, there's nary a bang for your buck here, only a whimper.

Paid: $5.50. Tastes like: $5.50. Review: This bowl of noodles is cleverly hidden amongst the piggy stuff (bak kut teh). But don't be fooled! The noodles here are springy and smooth, and that generous portion of minced meat and pig organs pack a formidable punch to any seasoned noodlers. Not exactly the cheapest but I'd say it's definitely one of the better alternatives in Hougang central. Give them a try if you drop by (maybe at the next WP rally when we get visitors ;D)

Costs: $7.50. Tastes like: $12.90. Review: What you get is a large plate of various spiced ingredients such as fried potato ball, brinjal, cuttlefish and so on all doused in a delicious Chilli paste that gets your blood and tummy pumping hard in no time. Portion size was generous and check out that bowl of chicken curry (you can opt for beef too) which was the highlight for me. Chicken was tender and the curry was fragrant and plentiful. I couldn't quite believe I only paid $7.50 for the amount of satisfaction and fullness at the end of the meal. Highly recommended for Malay food lovers!

The Risotto itself was decent, and the Aragula added a nice tangy feel. Portion size was moderate, but probably not enough for a hungry biker. I liked the dish, I just didn't think it was worth that much money, or the long walk for bike-less folks.

Review: They call it 太空包! I don't quite see where's the semblance except for the fact it's really airy and fluffeh! Careful with these extra 'taste'-restrial babies cause you literally can't stop with just one Kaya butter bun. Drinks were above sea level but nothing stratospheric (lol). For the regular citizen of Hougang, I must say these buns definitely help to make your morning sun shine a little brighter. Go try them out!

叉烧烧肉饭 was its name. Just like the picture, it was a dark and delicious mess of roasted meat laid on a bed of rice and a careless splash of sauce. I would call this a simple plate of goodness. Unpretentious, tasty, simple. The soups here are pretty good too, I had salted veg duck soup and the flavours contrasted against each other very well. Highly recommended if you're around the area looking for a meaty fix.
