Waffle gelato set. Signature waffle with single scoop gelato ($8.50), premium flavour (+$0.70), ice lemon tea ($3.50). 1-for-1 with #burpplebeyond! Just a few doors away from Geometry, Carrara cafe is another neighborhood minimalistic cafe that serves homemade gelato and western cuisine in the Bukit Merah estate. Their signature Bluepea Lemongrass Pandan gelato flavour, or the “Little Nyonya” flavour, was one of the flavours that earned them recognition at the Singapore Gelato Championship 2019. If you like a herbal aftertaste, then you should definitely give it a try. We had a crowd favourite, milk and honey, which was simple but comforting. I liked that it was creamy without the heavy milk fat taste (which can be quite a turn-off), and paired harmoniously with the honey floral flavour. Also went for a comparatively light flavour, oolong osmanthus. A pleasant, full-bodied, toasted black tea flavour with a hint of floral fruitiness. Waffles here were soft and fluffy, though I would have preferred an additional crispiness. Pretty disappointing ice lemon tea that was strongly flavoured and diluted. Thanks to #burpplebeyond, we enjoyed 2 waffles gelato set at the price of 1!

Chicken Chop Aglio Olio [$12.90] A little disappointed since the chicken has too much fats (and it's those really disgusting jelly kind of fats sobs). However I must say the portion is quite huge for this price. Usually cafes outside won't give you so much pasta 😂 The Aglio Olio just tasted normal. Would love to try other pasta if I ever walk past this cafe again. The chili crab pasta is not too bad. It has this tomyum flavour which is pretty nice (tasted one mouth since my friend ordered it). Must say that at least it's not a CRABBY pasta HAHA. I love the shop's deco btw since it's filled with marble hehe.

@carraracafesg Earl Grey Lavender Gelato 🍦 Pleasantly surprised by how rich the earl grey taste is! It is not too sweet but yet the flavour is there. It's actually quite refreshing eating it. I guess it has officially become my favourite earl grey in Singapore 😛 However the downside is that the flavour is so strong it kinda overpower the waffle cone. Nevertheless the cone is really crispy which is a good thing. #myheartapprove for sure! - 🤑: SGD: 3.20 + $0.80 for cone - 👅: 4.5/5

Get The Roasted Grouper One thing I knew I had to order was the Roasted Black Grouper w Vichyssoise ($28) What’s not to love about the combination; shimeji mushrooms, potato based soup, dehydrated mussels, dill infused oil and garam masala?! It sounds like a lot of experiments was done to come to this combination. And oohh I love it when all the components have been mixed, it bring out tons of flavour to the dish. The grouper however was a tad letdown with it being too firm :/ Good dish nonetheless!

Not For Everyone Heard so much reviews and praises for their Seabass Pasta ($22) that I just had to order it to try for myself. Honestly, the visuals of the dish made me apprehensive about the taste and even hearing about the dish which is tagliatelle in seaweed cream? 🤔 Hmmm ... unfortunately my fear was true. The first bite of the tagliatelle and i can already feel the jelak-ness. Well we were warned it is on the heavier side if flavour. But, it just wasn’t the good kind of heaviness. Eating it with the daikon did help to lighten the flavour but for us, this dish was just not for us. For me and my partner, we found the taste peculiar and the tagliatelle was brittle as well which further dampened our hope to like this dish. Only saving grace I can say is the freshness of the seabass

Flavourful Curry w Mussels Undoubtedly the most popular dish in Scaled by Ah Hua Kelong is the Curry Mussels w Mantou ($16) & I can see why. Juicy plump mussels with a fresh seafood flavour paired with the curry which was full of spices and had a nice kick to it. Mopped the entire bowl clean that we ordered additional serving of mantous (3 for $2) Just simple food but done right 👍

Korean Spicy Meat Plate from @masizzimsg . Go for this if you are the type who loves your food rich and mildly-spicy. Choose from squid, sliced beef or pork to be stir-fried with onion and carrot slivers, served with mixed-grain rice and fried sunny side up. I had the shiny stir-fried pork in in-house Korean red pepper sauce, which was actually not as spicy as imagined, though was still rather addictive with nice smoky flavour. NEW weekday lunch menu that is pretty affordable, starting from $10.90++ for a set. bit.ly/masizzimsingapore

If you have craving for Korean Kimchi Fried Rice, Bibimbap and Bulgogi Rice, look no further. Masizzim located at [email protected] and Westgate, has introduced a NEW weekday lunch menu that is pretty affordable, starting from $10.90++ for a set. For the Masizzim Lunch Sets, each includes a main course, a bowl of seaweed soup and two pieces of Korean pancakes. The highlight to me is the Kimchi Fried Rice, which includes fragrant mixed-grain rice fried with kimchi for the slight spicy-tangy flavour within. While most versions of fried rice come with egg fried within, the Masizzim Kimchi Fried Rice is served on a hotplate with rice in the middle surrounded by a ring of egg.
