For Pan Mee There’s something about pan mee that's quite irresistible, and Jojo’s Little Kitchen serves several versions from soup to dry. A popular favourite is served dry, commonly known as Chilli Pan Mee or Lat Jiu Pan Mee (RM7.80), and comes with minced pork, dried chilli, ikan billis, fried onions and a poached egg to bring everything together. Alternatively, warm your belly with the Curry Laksa Pan Mee (RM8.50) served with tender pieces of chicken and pan mee soaking up all that gravy. This spot is both big enough and great for a fuss-free lunch with a group, where there's something for everyone! You might even consider getting some extra bowls to share if you can't decide what to order.

Smoked Salmon Pasta (RM32.9) Went here for a group lunch before our assignment discussion meet up with my friends. We’re looking for a good lunch spot that is close by in Subang area, so here we are! Located in SS15 Courtyard, just right next Naj and Belle. I ordered their Smoked Salmon Pasta (RM32.90), it’s a quite pricey dish but it didn’t disappoint me. Plated nicely in a big ceramic plate, served with cherry tomatoes and asparagus. I kinda like how they prepare the asparagus, it tasted firm but not too ‘woody’ and slightly salted. The cream taste with like a mixture between salty, little creamy, tangy and sweet at the same time, definitely not a pasta that will make you “jelak” ;D Little did I know they serves good pasta dish, definitely will come back and try out their other dishes and desserts!

For Hokkaido Toast Mornings Signature Hokkaido toasts take the spotlight here at Yesterday so come in a group to share the delightfully thick, buttered bread. Go for the scrumptious, Japanese-influenced Breakfast Box (RM22.90), which serves thick toast slathered with garlic butter, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and shiitake mushrooms with bonito flakes. The casual food goes surprisingly well with the classy decor here. If you prefer to enjoy thick toast as a dessert, there's the lovable Yesterday's Toast (RM15.90) that comes with maple honey, vanilla ice cream and crushed nuts. Avg Price: RM30

All-day Yesterday Yesterday is a quaint cafe nestled in Courtyard SS15. With its English styled interior & British-Japanese fusion cuisine, what's there not to love about this place? Signature Yesterday's toast (RM15.90) which is a Shibuya toast, a dish that Yesterday provides with different toppings to choose from for you to enjoy as a dessert and there's even a breakfast box option, which is a toast served with ingredients of a big breakfast. For the salted egg lovers, they have Golden Satsuma Fries (RM8.90) which are crispy sweet potato fries with a side of salted egg dip. They serve a variety of food on their menu such as salads and pasta, they also have a Kids menu that comes with a cup of Babycino together with every meal. Plus points to Yesterday for paying attention to the mixing and matching of high quality tableware and utensils. Pair your meal with a cup of coffee or tea and all in all, this is a pretty nice place for weekend catch-ups and hang outs.

For A Thai Special Named 'Bang Cock' Enjoy a good laugh over brunch here with a few friends after class. You may get over the mischief of its name, but Bang Cock's (RM25) robust flavours will not be easy to forget. The extremely tasty pasta is a blend of tom yum and green curry, served next to two tantalising Thai-style chicken skewers. Also recommended is The Three Way (RM21) — a foolproof dish of slow-cooked oxtail and beef served with mash and pan fried mantou — perfect on rainy mornings. Avg Price: RM30

For Cheeky Dishes and Coffee Browsing through Morningwood's cheeky menu might make you giggle, what with dishes like "Bang Cock" (RM25), a Thai-style chicken skewer pasta. This dish is even poetically described as a “milky divergent of spicy Thai spices and lemony flavours, escorted by sexy succulent thighs” on their menu. For something lighter, go for a Skinny Dip (RM20), eggs baked into a sweet and tangy tomato sauce, complete with Brioche toast to mop it all up. This is one of those spots you can depend on for excellent espresso-based coffees, but remember to also ask the barista for the available filtered coffees that day!

My James Blunt-esque obsession with all things spicy brought me to Bang Cock at Morningwood (😏😏) - Thai-style chicken skewer pasta with spicy Thai spices, lemony flavours and minced chicken. The flavour is essentially tomyum and green curry's very attractive dual-ethnicity baby, with strong and diverse support from the strongly basil-fied meat, crunchy bell peppers and the sweet pineapple chunks. I gotta say, this is my favourite café item from the #BurppleSGxKL food expedition trip yet.

For Brunch With A Porky Punch Flingstones is the place to be if you're looking for a hearty, porky Malaysian brunch. Accessibly located opposite Taylor's College, swing by with a friend (or your laptop) and order the sinful but irresistible Porky Fat Rice XL (RM20) — a better-plated version of nasi lemak with lots of grilled pork. Alternatively, get a spicy wok-fried spaghetti called "Chu Yao Char" (pork lard) Angel Hair (RM18). It's every pork lover's dream dish and we think you know why. For a cuppa to wake you from an imminent food coma, get the Dirty (RM13), a dark, aromatic coffee. Avg Price: RM30

For Comfort Food While Studying Hearty meals come in the form of big breakfasts, sandwiches and pastas in this pork-centric cafe. Flingstones is one of the latest additions to the cafes in this student-populated neighbourhood, capturing the attention of passers-by with its attractive tiles by the entrance. Complete with power points for you to work on your assignment, this is an excellent spot to fuel up with a comforting meal as you tackle those lecture notes. Burpple Tastemaker Foodroll recommends the Big Breakfast (RM25) with crispy hashbrowns and bacon-infused baked beans. For something a little lighter, there’s always B.E.L.T. (bacon, eggs, lettuce and tomatoes, RM15) but you know you actually want that “chu yok char” angel hair pasta (RM18) way more!

Food Therapy on a hump day? (NON-HALAL) My top picks at Flingstones are always the big breakfast and pasta. Little did I know their sandwiches are a perfect comfort food too! What goes wrong with bacon anyway. I had the BELT - bacon, eggs, lettuce, tomato. A hearty breakfast to cheer you up with crispy hashBrowns and bacon infused baked beans. Yum! Eggs were not placed on the bread. So brownie points for a toasty toast! Good: 8/10 Price: 8/10 (Big breakfast - RM 25; B.E.L.T - RM 15; coffee - RM 10)

Pork Chop Noodles They serve pork chop with buns, rice and noodles! I’d recommend the noodles too! Tasted a lot like wantan mee; springy and flavourful, paired very well with the juicy meat!

Pork Chop Bun Ever since Tai Lei Lou Kei cease to exist in Malaysia, I’ve been craving for a good pork chop bun. So imagine my happiness when I found this in Lot 10! Although not as delicious as TLLK’s rendition, I’m still happy with this; buttered buns and tender (VERY!) pork chop. Pair it with a glass of HK milk tea and you’re set for a satisfying meal.

For Various Hawker Fare Under One Roof If you've somehow only got time for ONE place to eat at when you're in town, journey to this food hall in Lot 10 along Bukit Bintang. You'll be able to check many dishes off your eat-list here, from stellar Penang Duck Egg Char Kuey Teow (RM12.50) to Kim Lian Kee's signature Hokkien Mee (RM14.20) and Wanton Mee with Char Siew (from RM11.50). To share, go for the BBQ Combo (from RM28) – a platter of roasted duck and pork which Burppler Jaden Loh enjoyed both for its crunchy skin and savoury meat. A corner away from the touristy stretch of Jalan Alor, this old little stall offered delicious local beef noodles. Made with the Wanton Mee kind of noodles, it was springy and topped with flavourful minced meat in dark sauce. Paired with a small bowl of mixed beef parts, the meal was humble but nothing less from satisfying. It just tasted better with every bite. A small claypot of chilli could be seen on every table and it was a must to lift up the taste of the noodles. Of cos, directly opposite in the dark alley of the road hid another gem of Malaysian street food which we would share separately.

For Beef Noodles Off The Streets The night is always young at drinking destination Changkat, which also boasts a fit-for-king beef noodle stall. Situated by the streets is this indistinct setup, pegged only by the old uncle cooking up the area's best bet for a stellar local supper. Each bowl of Beef Noodles (RM10) sees a healthy portion of springy egg noodles, topped with a dark, delicious minced beef sauce. Served on the side, beef balls and tasty, tender sliced beef swim in a clear but deeply flavoured broth. Open till 4am, Ngau Kee is an excellent excursion to get fed and sobered up on your way home. For Beef Noodles This humble street stall serves one of the best beef noodles in town! Ngau Kee serves each bowl of minced beef-topped dry noodles for just RM 7.50, and comes with a bowl of broth with beefballs and tender beef slices. The thin, springy egg noodle is Ngau Kee's specialty, complimenting their dark sauce concoction in every way. This is one addictive bowl that's perfect for late nights!

Nyonya Food Hidden in a centre of the city, opened by a happy Nyonya. Price is reasonable, portion is quite big too. Nice place to reminisce the past and it's just beside Feeka !!

For Fried Rice That Hits The Spot Uncle Soon fires up one solid plate of Prawn and Char Siew Fried Rice (RM9.50) that'll leave you craving for more. It's usually busy for lunch, so swing by for dinner instead. Expect fragrant wok hei-laden rice studded with pieces of char siew, best paired with a dollop of the salty and spicy sambal for more oomph. Finally tried the renowned Uncle Soon Fried Rice that I've heard so much about 🍚⁣ ⁣📷 In frame: ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Prawn + Char Siew + Egg Fried Rice [RM9.50] ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ✨: Portions were pretty generous, with each bite bound to contain a piece of meat. I particularly enjoyed the combination of the crispy fried egg, soy sauce, and the fragrant rice.⁣ ⁣ 💬:⁣⁣ However, the price tag is pretty hefty for a hawker meal. Also have to add that the char siew pieces tasted quite old and unfresh (not sure if it's a one-off thing). ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ In short, a sinful and satisfying meal but certainly not the best fried rice I've had. ⁣

Uncle Soon Fried Rice | A plate of this Char Siu fried rice is good enough to keep you wanting for more. Make sure to add an egg, especially if runny eggs are your fetishes. Have it with their sambal and voile'. But if you're rushing for time, you might want to reconsider, because the crowd gets cray cray during lunch sometimes. Don't worry, aunty will tell you the ETA of your fried rice if there's a long queue. 💸 RM10
