Perfect Choux Puffs Sharing my new find with you . A halal based dessert spot that started out from their home kitchen since 2012. I’m very impressed with their selection of choux pastries as they are not overly sweet and have rather intriguing flavours. . Do take note this is a takeaway place :) ❤️ . These three here are Blueberry cheesecake , Horlicks and Lychee rose . Not stingy on the cream, you get the burst of flavours just at the first bite ! Besides choux, they have bite size brownies and sliced cheesecakes too . Not a brownie fan but my other half likes it :) we are also a fan of their cheesecakes ! Swipe to see two other flavours - susu manis and oops I forgot the other 😅 Chou pastries are 3 for $10 or $3.50 each . Honestly would want to keep this place a secret 😂😅 as they are usually sold out everyday of the choux pastries. #EileeneatsBedok #shubbysweets pls don’t buy all ..leave some for me 🤣

Established since 2012, Shubby Sweets has finally opened a store in the East, taking orders and selling their signature artisanal brownies and other bakes. For my Christmas potluck gathering this year with my childhood friends and new additions into the family, I decided to get a box of Shubby Sweets’ brownies and was fortunate to snag one of their last available Christmas Brownies Platter. With flavours such as Magic Fudgy Squares, Sticky Chewy, Red Velvet Cream Cheese, Nutella Blondies and Christmas Blondies, these 30 pieces of handcrafted brownies were the perfect sweet treats after a meal. _________________ Shubby Sweets Address: 42, Chai Chee Street, Unit 01-68, Singapore 461042 • #yoursingapore #visitsingapore #singapore #burpproved #buzzfeast #buzzfeedfood #makansutra #cafehopping #cafesg #sgcafes

👉Crispy Chicken & Waffles👈 Focusing on waffles and chicken dishes, @cluckclucknafa is a fast-casual café that recently opened its doors in June at @nafa_sg. Playing it safe, we decided to go only for the chef’s recommendations 😌. 。 Is it just me, or their fried chicken actually kinda taste like KFC’s? Deep-fried to golden brown, the chicken thighs might be great on their own but eating with waffles and drenching in maple syrup made everything even more comforting. I wished the waffles were more fluffy though... 。 P.S. You can enjoy 1-for-1 deals here using Burpple Beyond! Super Worth!! Crispy Deep Fried Chicken, sufficiently thin and thoroughly cooked through. Would recommend the mash and coleslaw for sides. Super worth the money at ~$5 per pax 🤓💛 after BurppleBeyond. do note that the chicken slab is thin rather than thick and the mash potato’s also pretty generous. Wouldn’t recommend the pasta cause it comes in a small portion and it’s also pretty dry. If you’re craving some mid-week unhealthy fried chicken, this is the place to go. Will come back for it!

Crispy Chicken and Waffles Definitely worth the money, hands down, especially with Burpple's 1-for-1. The chicken was juicy and tender and fried to a nice crisp. A very good pairing with the syrup and waffles although I found the waffes to be a little dry. Overall it was a very pleasant and filling meal and the staff were very friendly as well.

Bao Makers 13/07/19 (Part 3/3) True to their name, the baos were what truly stood out in this restaurant. Now, if only they could be bigger... Chili Crab Bao ($4.50) 'Deep fried bun, fresh crabmeat with Singapore style chilli sauce' Simply comforting, deep-fried 'mantou' with loads of crabmeat drenched in a sweet and spicy chili crab sauce; Favourite bao. Taste: 10/10 Salted Egg Chicken Bao ($4.30) 'Steamed sesame bun, signature salted egg sauce, seasoned fried chicken' If you love salted egg, you will love this bun. Loaded with creamy salted egg goodness and a really juicy and crunchy slab of chicken. Taste: 10/10 Salmon Mentaiko Bao ($4.30) 'Steamed white bun, fried salmon, cod roe sauce, cheese, tobiko' This bao is essentially an elevated version of my salmon mentaiko bowl, with the rice being replaced by sweet fluffy buns and a rich cheese flavour to complement the mentaiko salmon. (Unfortunately, I do not remember the tobiko in the bun) Taste: 9/10 Overall, felt that this restaurant was a tad pricey without the discount but I guess I should be expecting that due to where its located. While the rice bowls are the ones that will fill you up here, I would strongly suggest skipping them and going straight for their baos. Personally, I will only come back again if I've another huge discount. See more at: https://www.instagram.com/p/B0I7iruAHEY/?igshid=1nd1dlal3h0a3

Bao Makers 13/07/19 (Part 2/3) Teriyaki Beef Steak ($17.80) 'Pan seared beef steak, house blend teriyaki sauce, onsen egg' This main was a lot better mainly because the rice was drenched in their house blend teriyaki sauce which was not too sweet. In fact, the rice was so flavourful that I did not mind eating it on its own. The beef steak itself was nicely seared and provided a nice slightly saltish contrast to the dish; Strong beefy flavour as well. I think my only gripe with this bowl would be that more beef could have been given. Taste: 8/10 See more at: https://www.instagram.com/p/B0I67_2gf3Y/?igshid=1059j7pdpylvj

Tong Luo Wan 铜锣湾 Dishing out limited portions of roast meats to the neighbourhood of Potong Pasir, Tong Luo Wan is a new charcoal roasts stall that operates from 7am till sell out. Think the classic offerings of Roast Duck, Soy Sauce Chicken, Roast Pork, and Char Siew which the chef had learnt to prepare from someone who honed his craft in Hong Kong. My favourite of the lot, the Soy Sauce Chicken 油鸡 ($8/lower quarter & $7/upper quarter) was succulent, savoury and saucey - perfect with a steaming bowl of rice. The Char Siew 叉烧 ($10 portion) was also well-executed though they were sliced much thinner than I preferred in order to cater to the more elderly customers that they get at the coffeeshop. Similarly, the Roast Duck 当归烤鸭 ($12/lower quarter & $11/upper quarter), which was initially done with a more pungent hit of dang gui was toned down with the feedback of the diners. Yet as one who loves a stronger herbal flavour, I am still able to appreciate the subtleness and the pairing with the natural sweetness of the meat. The mee kia too, was cooked to a springy perfection. Thank you @alhsx for the kind invitation and @jthejon for the hospitality! . 📌Tong Luo Wan 铜锣湾 Jin Biao Coffee Shop 锦标咖啡店 Block 136 Potong Pasir Ave 3

Roast Meats Roast Meats . For affordable roast meats, Tong Luo Wan charcoal roasts serves up an array of roast duck ($12/lower quarter), char siew ($40/kg), roast pork ($40/kg) and soy sauce chicken ($7/lower quarter). TLW specializes in herbal roast duck prepared with dang gui. Amongst the meats we sampled, all the roast were above average though I prefer my roast duck with a stronger herbal flavour. The char siew was nicely charred but could be sliced thicker for a stronger flavour. The stall sells out after lunch and is quite a popular spot for the folks in the neighbourhood. . Thank you @alhsx for the invitation and @jthejon for the hospitality.

🎶You treat me like a ROAST~ You give me room to grow~🎶 Nestled in the friendly neighbourhood of Potong Pasir is Tong Luo Wan Charcoal ROAST, a humble 3-month-old stall serving up beautiful roasts at reasonable prices! 👌🏻 You can lay your hands on their Soy Sauce Chicken Noodles at just $3 😉, or go for their Roasted Pork or Char Siew Noodles at $3.50! Roasted Duck Noodles are priced at $4 but this would be my recommended! 💕 . My favourite has got to be their Dang Gui Duck 🦆, which exudes a soothing herbal taste without being overwhelming. ✔ The lean slices of duck meats were thick but remained tender, which deserves a round of applause! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Having absorbed all the essence from the marinade & ingredients, the meats were moist & bursting with juices in every bite. 🤤 . Their soy sauce chicken 🐓 was pretty succulent & the savoury notes of the braising liquid won me over. 😋 Crowned with a nice crackling which I enjoyed is their roasted pork, with a balanced lean-fat ratio. 🐖 While the char siew is sufficiently tender, the sauce leaned on the sweet side for me. . Itching to try all of them? 😍😍😍 Sure - you can enjoy 3 meats at $9 or even a platter of 4 meats at $12! 😉

Grilled Crabs🦀 Pre-steaming/blanching the crabs before finishing it on the grill (sprinkled with that crack salt) may result in not super juicy crabs, but the ridiculous amount of roe more than made up for it.

crab ($48 onwards, seasonal price) @ 568 eating house don't be fooled by the lack thereof, the red hard shell is actually salt and spices rubbed all over 3427 times. you then want to pick off the shells with your fingers brusquely and coat them liberally with the salty concoction before pinching the sweetest crab flesh with roe aplenty. by design and chance, the explosive culmination of dead salty and sea sweetness in your mouth shocks you momentarily and leaves in a state of blank and ecstasy. you helplessly proceed to repeat all proceedings, prolonged and more physical, licking clean your fingers like a cat at its paws and pursing your lips continously like a dying man at a desert. experience this at a phone call away; Yang Jun at 9127 9846 ($48 onwards, seasonal price).

Happy Crab Extra 🦀($48/crab, seasonal) Slurp slurp! Omg, one of the juiciest, biggest crabs I've had in recent times. And ALL DAT ROE 😍. Ridonkculous! Simply seasoned in what we termed 'crack salt', it was peppery, salty and all around good licking, especially alternating between the sweet crab flesh and licking the MSG off your lips. 👅💦💦 Surprisingly, they even have other awesome BBQ items like squid and satay (which we ordered another round of cause it was just that shiok!). Call Yang Jun (9127 9846) before heading down if you're having the crab withdrawals and need to get your fix! 🤤
