My go to place after my work outs every week. They serve delicious and high quality protein bowls (no cheap ingredients!) and I always build my own protein bowl with their flavourful cauliflower rice or zoodles as base. Portion is generous too and one portion can last me 2 meals!

Finally found a high tea place with delicious scones (now that Marriott Tangs no longer serves them). Plus at a one for one price point + excellent service, the high tea is worth returning for.

The traditional bubble & squeak is a delicious and savoury mix of hash brown and sausages in HP sauce, while the Heuvous Rancheros has an interesting Mediterranean flavour to it, would have been great with a little hummus. The buttermilk pancakes was a delicious end to a savoury meal and I really love how the pancakes were thick and fluffy.

If you still do not know about this place, you’re missing out. Serving affordable yet delicious tendon (which means tempura donburi), there is perpetually a queue at this place and I would advice that you start queuing at 5pm to beat the dinner crowd. The tempura batter is extremely light and fries up really well. The sweet and salty sauce which goes over the tendon is a key part of the whole experience and adds a dimension of flavours to the fluffy and sticky Japanese rice + simple tempura.

Perch has been my recent go to ever since they opened in Jewel because of their amazing food. Prices are decent and made even better with Burpple Beyond. Plus given that it’s a lesser known restaurant compared to its famous neighbours, you don’t have to queue for too long! Pictured here is a delicious duck confit— love the orange sauce which gave it an interesting twist.

I’ve always loved the high tea at lobby lounge and had visited a few times over the years. It’s one of the most value for money high tea (food was refillable) + quality food, especially the scones which was one of the best I’ve had. Sadly, it’s no longer refillable, which no longer makes it value for money given the little variety & common pastries. They’ve also removed scones from the lineup. The best item was probably the satay which I suspect isn’t really part of the usual high tea menu. From the high tea menu? Probably the egg mayo sandwich. But what really affected me was the service which really dropped. After being seated for 30 mins, no one came over to take our orders and I had to walk over to the counter and ask for the tea menu. When settling the bill, I again waited for a good 15-20 mins before I had to walk over to the counter to get my credit card back. As a five star hotel, I would expect service standards to be maintained at the very least if you’re going to cut cost via food.

Theirs pizzas are definitely better than their pastas which are pretty average. That being said, their vongole pasta comes with a delicious and interesting creamy buttery sauce, not your usual clear and spicy soup.

Their burrata pizza is simply heavenly. Spread some burrata all over your pizza slice and you get a creamy bite each time. The crust for their burrata pizza is medium thick and yet very crisp. It doesn’t fill you up like thick crust and it’s more satisfying than a thin.

Finally giving Good Time a try and featuring their popular dishes: chilli crab tofu with soft shell crab; chicken curry with charcoal you tiao (with a very cute name- hurry! Hurry! Chicken curry) and a sweet and savour sticky squid dish. .
.
Good Time serves nonya fusion and the best part of all nonya food is the gravy. The curry here doesn’t disappoint and it comes with a huge portion of chicken (half a chicken). The charcoal you tiao is a bit dry and it tastes like an ordinary you tiao. .
.
My fav dish is the chilli crab tofu because the Chili crab sauce is so damn shiok with lots of egg, and it was thick and sweet. I wished I had mantous with me. I found myself just having the sauce alone and it was so sinfully good.
.
.
The squid was really fresh and texture was bouncy. The sauce (kecup manis?) was sweet and savoury and a nice break from the chilli crab sauce if you find the latter cloying after a while.

Just had the chilli crab pasta and the pesto pasta. The former was a little pungent while the latter is just bland. Both pastas were soggy. Wouldn’t recommend this place even with the one for one.
