Ok to try once but nothing so special. The discount 1 for 1 using POSB is even better than Burpple deal. Still, I think the food is rather overpriced.

The only thing is this is the first time I’ve tried Ice Plant which is something new.

This is the type of wanton mee using “real” charsiew. The star of it is no doubt charsiew with a combination of sweet, fatty and savoury. Surprisingly, it’s not too chao ta to be good charsiew, still it’s not lacking any flavour. Thanks God I did not need to remove all the burnt parts before enjoying. Nothing to shout out about the noodle tho but come here to have good and affordable charsiew. Another ingredient that stands out is its sambal chili with tons of dried shrimp. I even took away $10 charsiew and my father said it was not only super good but also value for money. $10 for 4 persons to share is worth every penny.
It’s located at a small coffee shop, next to the popular Holland Drive Food Centre.

Went to Colony on a Friday night dinner. All the staff are very professional, taking orders promptly with 5 star service level. Atmosphere is romantic under dim light and elegant furnishings.
Lobster meat is perfectly firm and charred to perfection. Oyster is a little small but it’s understandable given the price paid. Tandoori fish is worth to try, creamy and crispy on the outside. Beef steak is tender and juicy.
Price: $102 per pax, exclusive of service charge and gst. Using Citibank for payment to enjoy 10% discount.

Price is affordable. Taste wise: authentic Vietnamese.
Damage: from $4.5 to 6.5
Other stalls worth to try: famous Yong Tau Foo with springy prawn with multiple branches, one at Albert Food Centre; 888 mookata opened by a Singapore actor. At the adjacent blk 505A, another mala cozy restaurant is packed with patrons as well.

If you want to taste real beef in beef balls, here is a place for you. As a person who loves to make all types of balls: fish balls, pork balls..., I can say the ratio of beef to flour is higher than other beef balls you have ever tasted in Singapore, at least for me. Not only that, it’s also springy to perfection. A downside is the dried noodle is tasteless with some fatty minced pork.

On a side note, dont forget to couple it with Milo peng $1.5. It’s good.

Small noodle with beef balls: $4
Small noodle with yong tau too: $3
Big mixed beef balls and tendon balls: $5

Price: $4
Ordered dried prawn mee. It’s a mixture of sourness, creamy from pork lard, savoury from dried shrimp. What stands out is their soup which is strong in prawn taste, giving you the feeling of ah ma’s prawn mee.

I ordered:
Prawn Cake: 4 pcs for $10
Pork with Basil leaves: $10
Seafood Tomyam: $10
Kangkong with chili and garlic: $8 (claimed chili but no chili at all)
Thai Milk Tea: $1.8
Everything was on point except that the rice was kinda wet, suitable for my ah ma. Normally I wont have milk tea with main course but since it’s only $1.8, I decided to give it a try. Turning out it’s not up to my liking, which is a little diluted. Besides, I have a feeling they follow healthy concept, seasoning is not as savoury as at other Thai restaurants.

Price: $5.9 Nett
This is the most bang for every penny. It comes with plenty of lala. Thick gravy is cooked with fresh tomato and maybe chicken broth which enhances the taste. Always in my first list when I have craving for a simple plate of spaghetti. What’s more, they provide free plain water at the self-service area. Can ask the friendly staff there if you couldnt locate it.
Do not forget to try out their other items, including the famous Oven Grilled Escargots.
