Big and springy with perfectly mixed fish sauce. The size is equal to half of your hand
Price: $1.9 per piece
One of the local street food that I enjoyed the most.
Price: 80 cents
It was a long queue on a Friday night but dont worry its moving fast especially if only 2 ppl. I ordered many types of meat, fish and scallop (1 portion 4 pieces), the marinade was up to my standard complemented with 2 kinds of chili sauce. Choose your own preference, no need to get the recommended portion for 2 as it's good price. Dont forget to try their chicken which is well marinated and importantly it's chicken thigh not breast
Damage: only $24 for 2 pax (we were so so full and happy)
Oh this was a disappointment. $9.5 before GST with a bit of noodle, cant fulfil my stomach at all.
Taste wise, wasnt that bad but overall I would rather opt for Pho Viet at Joo Chiat for Bun thit nuong, Bun bo Hue at Co Hai just 2 shops away from this ($9, huge serving), Bo Kho at Long Phung only $6.5 with lots of beef, Com Tam at either Pho Viet or Joo Chiat (cheaper and huge serving)
Everybody walking around Bugis street should try this as its so affordable considering the location. Try their roasted pork and char siew rice but their soup. Apart from that, white rice used is the long grain rice which is my favorite
Damage: $2.5 char siew rice
Ok so everything abt this place was disappointing
Veggies werent fresh, yellow yellow leaves some more. Fish, meat all still frozen
They cook the food until very soft, soggy
3 kinds of veggies, beef, bit of mushroom, 2 small bowls of rice costed $9.4 (expensive). Needed to go for second round after this
I'd rather go to Chinatown or Pasir Ris mrt for better ingredients and price
Relatively unique, for supper hunter, service was very fast even when its crowded
Their pork was well marinated with potato starch or corn starch, making it very soft when biting
The portion was very small, quite affordable given the atmosphere and decoration of the restaurant.
Should try their minced pork with basil leave that was cooked with pork oil, making it so creamy and tasty
One plus point was the rice, the long grain rice
Im very particular abt the white rice, here didnt disappoint
A mixture of watermelon, lemon, strawberry, etc. It was like drinking lemon tea
A bit pricey $5.8 but the staff was very polite
Pros: they have outdoor seats where u can chit chat with your fr until very late at orchard area
Service was a bit slow although there wasnt packed of customers. You can choose to opt for buffet or a la carte, I think buffet will be more value for money tho. Quite a variety of dishes, nice food presentation
What stood out was actually a variety of sushi, especially the mentai salmon sushi where you couldn't find at other Jap restaurant buffet. Also the complimentary tuna belly, scallop made it even more bang for the buck
End of your courses, they provided a dessert, mine was green tea ice cream
Damage: about $60 nett per pax (including 2 hot tea, not free of charge)
First impression: full of soy sauce smell. After mixing all together, the soup was way too thick to finish (right hand side). Noodle a bit thin and soft (ordered normal texture)
Warning: For those on first date, please stay away from this as it makes your teeth and mouth so black lol
Price: $15.9 subject to service charge and gst
Have been visiting this restaurant for a very long time whenever I crave frog porridge. From the photo in which you can picture a silky, smooth texture of their porridge, enjoying it in the cooling weather lately. Needless to say, the frog Gong Bao is their signature
Damage: 4 frogs-$22, small pot of porridge costs $2
This shop tastes much better than the one nearby at Geylang Lorong 9 and also more reasonable
