Not bad, reminiscent of a good laksa bowl! Dry Laksa ($18 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - though the noodles were abit too soft, the sauce is thick and very flavourful, just like a good bowl of laksa. They gave 4 pretty huge prawns which were all plump and fresh! Not bad can try.

Pretty delicious Mentai Don! Salmon Mentai Don ($18 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - mentaiko really can't go wrong and for this bowl they were pretty generous with the amount of sauce! As for the salmon pieces, it seems like it's lesser than that of Chirashi. I still love the rice in here! The onsen egg just pairs well with everything in here 😍

Chunky fresh pieces of sashimi, not bad Lecoq Chirashi ($16 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - pretty generous with the sashimi ingredients, the sashimi pieces were fresh and chunky! I must say they gave alot of rice, but I ain't complaining because their rice were well seasoned and pretty darn addictive. Love the onsen egg as well, as it acts as a good medium to combine everything together!

worth +++ 🎀 miso cream salmon ($22) - cauliflower mash & spinach cream that came with? top notch. otherwise, salmon was a little fishy & kind of dry. 6/10 for the dish - gonna be a pass for us ☹️ 💗 salmon mentaiko mac&cheese ($16) - an absolute smash. 10/10! definitely for sharing because the mentaiko + cheese pairing could definitely cause some jelak-ness 🙂‍↔️ still so yummy esp when warm. total flavour bomb 👛 matcha banana pancakes ($17) - HUGE serving! 3 entire pancakes, some bananas & strawberries + a huge scoop of matcha ice cream. ice cream had q a bitter note to it (means real matcha? 🤩) & pancakes had slight matcha+banana taste to it. 8/10! would be great if it came with a side of maple syrup to go w the leftover pancake once the toppings were finished 🤭 total bill $55, no ++, final bill $41.25 after burpple discount. could definitely feed 3 girlies w the portions above so super worth! v friendly staff, defo do give them a visit 👍🏻

Chicken Overload Got this twice! I really liked the mushroom soup and how the flavours and textures of the items in this dish complement each other :) I wonder if the fried lotus root could be less oily though.

Lotus Chips Thought I had to wait until CNY to get my hands on these chips, Himawari did a great job serving this as part of their menu!

Steak & Eggs ($16) My friend she didn't wanted to order this but she initally wanted to try tonkatsu one and I literally wanted to try it out too. So she decided to try this and we just spilt and shared instead. So the steak was well cooked but the overeasy egg is not runny at all :") but the sauce really nice to eat thru. I thought tonkatsu was really best selling on their menu but this steak & eggs was not bad tbh.

Tonkatsu ($15) I didn't really regretted to travel over from north east to south west for this. My friend just judged me so sliently most of time for this but I don't really care or bother abt it. But their sando was not that bad tbh was so worth to travel for trying once a while if you're bored with other brands out there also selling sando as their bread was not that dry as I expected and pork (tonkatsu) and napa cabbage was quite crispy and crunchy to chew through. The aonori mayo sauce was slightly too creamy for me and not much tbh.

Mushroom Fritters ($12) The batter was slightly too much and was quite crispy and crunchy to chew through. The sauce (used same as tonkatsu) complemented well with mushroom fritter too. It's slightly oil so it was good to share with family and friends.

Mazesoba 13.90++ There is medium or large sizes to choose from. This is medium portion and I have to say it’s a very delicious and filling bowl of noodles for me especially after having one of the hard boiled free flow egg as well. The savoury gravy and aburi cubed char siew mixed together with the crunchiness from the shimeiji mushrooms and the chewiness from the soba really makes this a very pleasurable bowl to devour with all the different textures playing with each mouthful. Will have to come back for it again.

Loved the food here! Ever tried Eastern European cuisine before? @kapitan.sg is a great place to start, with its chill ambience and great food 😍 My favourite out of all got to be the Salo ($14.90), which was some kind of cold pork belly which was super addictive. The slices were very tender and succulent, and I loved the savoury cured flavour. Pair them with mustard and their sourdough, and you got yourself a fancy appetiser! Their Dumpling Combo Platter ($17.90) was also a great sharing dish. I love how the dumpling skin was bouncy with a great mouthfeel. The meat within was pretty succulent as well. Loved the beef one with mayo! The Zharkoe ($27.90) came in a big bread bowl, and it was filled with cheese, potato and a very hearty pork stew. This is one good dish to share and can be very filling. If you need a drink, the Triple Vodka Martini ($25) is one option. This was quite strong and the Lemon flavour didn't taste too artificial! we tried slavic cuisine! my friends and i headed down to kapitan.sg recently after seeing their tiktok! (i’ve actually been itching to try their food since the dumpling.ru days but i never got around to it..) - salmon bliny (salmon crepes) $17.90 - draniki (rosti with salmon) $24.90 not in picture: - shashlyk (chicken skewers) $23.90 - tarhun (green slavic soft drink) $9.50 - carbonara pelmeni with lamb (dumplings) my order was the salmon bliny! i loooved the taste of the salmon with the hot crepes and the sour cream at the side.. too bad there were only 2 pieces of it 😭 portion was a little small in my opinion but maybe i just don’t get bougie food my friend got the draniki! she was kinda disappointed bc it came cold and it wasn’t really appetising by then.. i tried some of the salmon and i slurped it up tho (free food alw the best 😅) didn’t try the others so i can’t comment on those! but personally would like to try the desserts next time (if i can make the effort to go down…..)

Duck Confit Tagliatelle Their signature pasta - a very unique taste that felt like a blend of local asian and french flavours. Duck confit was rly tender and we liked that the hazelnuts added a nice crunch.

Seafood Risotto Pretty big portion with a generous amount of clams, prawns and mussels. Tried this at their sister cafe Eleven Strands and the quality is consistent

Duck Confit Hash An interesting and unique mix of tater tots, sous vide eggs, shreds of duck confit, spinach and red wine sauce, topped with parmesan and parsley. The duck confit is soft and tender. The flavours came together beautifully with the sauce. I recommend not leaving this dish for too long as the tater tots tend to get soggy over time from the eggs and sauce. Thanks to Burpple Beyond, we get to enjoy 2 Main Dish for the price of 1 ✌ (U.P. $23)

Teriyaki Salmon Rice Bowl Grilled teriyaki salmon, quinoa, Japanese rice, black rice, spinach, corn, mushroom, onsen egg, blistered tomato, zucchini pickle, edamame, sautéed carrots I was surprised at the generous portion of quinoa and rice with a variety of colourful ingredients. The slab of salmon was done perfectly with crispy skin and flesh without being too dry lightly drizzled with teriyaki sauce and sprinkles of sesame seed 》$18.50

Bad service if you get any!! It is one of the worse places for just coffee! No service and if at all bad. Staff came in and out as waiting for a table. When being served by one, whom walked away to say he will get us the table and he never came back. It’s a madhouse. Had to also wait for clean cups for water. Took over 10 mins to get attention of staff. Would not recommend it. Better places elsewhere.

Sunday Brunch Came here for brunch with 2 other friends thinking we could use the 1 for 1 main dish but because we ordered waffles together, only the waffles were waived. Overall food was great and ambiance was amazing. Would come back again, just got to be wiser with their 1 for 1 deals.

Alright Food And Ambience Got the smoked salmon and all day breakfast. Salmon was quite salty and we couldn’t finish the whole thing. Their sausage in the all day breakfast was nice. Overall, an alright experience and alright food, some chill music in the background.

Egglet with Ice Cream Egglet - freshly made, slightly crispy on the outside. Will be good if the insides can be more fluffy. Also has pasta and all!

Stracciatella ($5) milk with chocolate shavings ~ taste like vanilla w chocolate shaving lol. got really nice and crunchy sweet chocolate shaving tbh.

Waffles + Ice Cream Decided to comeback for their waffles mainly because previously I tried their ice cream alr. So i a bit hesitated to come back because its too far for me to go back to home during night time. Waffles got crispy and crunchy texture as it's really high recommended for sharing with 2 to 3 people if you all really wanted to order waffles.

Ube It is very surprise to see them open pretty early in the morning as a gelato shop in this quiet neighbourhood. But they also offered drinks options here. Could be a good spot to chill in between meal and gathering. The ube which is the yam flavour attracted me for its super purple colouring. Tasted creamy and tasty.
