Price:$13++. Verdict: YES. Pls go if u r in the area (and if u have the time to queue). Priced at $13++, this tempura don is arguably one of the most affordable tempura don I've had. Despite being so affordably priced, the serving size remains very generous. The special set had tempura prawn, chicken (albeit the chicken is a little weird), mushroom, corn, and several other vegetable. The runny tempura egg is really the icing on the cake!! Loved it. And besides the tempura don itself, you will also get chawamushi (which was really well made too!!) and miso soup. Be warned though, the drinks there are quite expensive. The green tea (that's not refillable) is about $4 per cup. So perhaps you r better off getting iced water if you are on a budget. Another issue I had with this establishment is the queue. My friends and I queued for about 1 hour on a weekday afternoon!!! And it was after the usual working crowd lunch period (we started queuing at about 130pm)! So be warned and do not expect to be able to casually stroll into this restaurant like you would in any other restaurants. I would likely visit this establishment again, but perhaps not so soon because it seems like it has only 2 food options - vegetable set tempura don, or special set tempura don. I guess it's an inevitable trade off between variety and quality.

Price: spent about $50 for 3 people. Verdict: yes, I would revisit. Despite having read other reviews that gave the bak kut teh scathing criticism, I would say that it really isn't that bad and I had really enjoyed myself while drinking the soup. My great at gripe with the bak kut teh is that the pot is really really small and shallow thereby requiring us to refill it many many times over(like 5 times?); so much so that we felt a little paiseh. The other dish worth trying is the An Pang Yong tau foo. I thought it was quite well made. Though I can't quite remember now what's so special about it because it happened quite a while ago lol. I would totally revisit it if I'm in a shopping mall and craving some bak kut teh. However, I don't think I would go out of my way to visit it because there are other more famous bak kut teh establishments that deserve the 'special visit' treatment.

Price: $12 (I had it on a Wednesday afternoon so there was 1-for-1 discount; otherwise it would be about $20 ish). Verdict: okok, I didn't really like it that much. This wagyu beef burger is less awesome than the siracha burger that wildfire also offers. On its own, there's really nothing much to complain about the wagyu beef burger, but when compared with the siracha burger, I would say that this wagyu beef burger really loses its lustre. Unless you totally dig beef and can't stand chicken, I would recommend the siracha burger instead of this. I wouldn't specially revisit wildfire just for this dish even though it's really not bad.

Price:~$17. Verdict: YES! Really loved it. This siracha burger is like an upgraded mcspicy (though I would have to say it's more like a ultra upgraded mcspicy). Loved the bread and the chicken. Although the bread is really good as well, the thing that really stone the show was the chicken. They gave a generous portion, and it's really tender! The taste is really good as well. Perhaps my only gripe with it is that it is slightly burnt on the edges. But that is really not a biggie. Would totally revisit it if theY have 1 for 1 for it. At $17 however, I would be slightly more hesitant.

Price: $17.90 for a 250g striploin steak (comes with 2 sides). Verdict: would visit again if I'm at holland V and crave for some meat. Isteaks is a Aston-like concept establishment in holland v. I would say the food quality is slightly superior to what one would find at astons. The steak was okok nothing very special. The sides are also ok. Nothing much to complain about either of them, but nothing much to rave about either. Perhaps their biggest selling point is that they are relatively cheaper to what one would find at the other similar-cuisine establishments in holland V. If you don't dig steak, Isteak can still satisfy you in another way because isteak also serves chicken dishes and pasta at an even more affordable price of ~$9+-. Wouldn't find visiting again with friends!

Price: about $9 for single waffle, $12 for double waffle. Verdict: would TOTALLY go back for it (to try the other soft serve flavor). Loved the soft serve earl grey lavender. It had a good aroma and it leaves a pleasant after taste. The waffles are also fluffy without being overly soft. We have also tried their gula Melaka soft serve but my friends and I unanimously thought that it tasted slightly weird. After all the gula Melaka taste is hard to grapple with. Can't wait to try the other flavor!

Price: 18 wings and drumlets at $22.90. Verdict: recommended.
Wings in bugolgi sauce can't go quite wrong and indeed this particular dish served by nene chicken met expectations. The chicken meat was tender and the bugolgi sauce was well-mixed. My only gripe with this is probably the waiting time and the lack of seats. Nene chicken at start vista is an extremely small outlet with only about 4-5 tables. So if u r looking to enjoy a meal comfortably and have a prolonged catchup with ur friend over meal, you might want to look elsewhere.

Price: $8.90. Verdict: recommended if you can stomach the after-meal spiciness.
This asam laksa is unlike the usual singapore laksa. It is a Penang style asam laksa with distinctive 'asam' taste. If you are looking to have a good o' laksa with extra 'hum', you might want to look elsewhere. This laksa has asam and fish based broth and not your usual coconut based broth. Although this broth is different from the usual, it is nevertheless very flavorful. But that's not the main highlight. The main highlight is the thick vermicelli that's infused with the broth flavor. Ooolala! You can taste the 'asam' in every single strand of vermicelli! My only caveat for this is that it can get quite spicy after a while so you might want to think twice if you cannot take spicy.

Price:$7.50. Verdict: recommended (if you are near shaw tower and want to have some Thai food). This Phad Thai is nothing very different from most other Phad Thai, since after all it is not possible to revolutionize such a common dish without losing the unique identity of 'Phad Thai'. But nevertheless this Phad Thai is still recommended because of the most important reason is amount of sotongs and prawns they have included in every plate of Phad Thai! And the quantity of prawn and sotong mattered only because they actually tasted good! And of course the Phad Thai itself was also tasty and fragrant. But as mentioned before, it's nothing revolutionary. And given that there are quite a number of other famous Thai food stalls around (cue: Nakhon), I probably will not return specifically to this place unless I am near shaw tower and crave Thai food.

Price:$10.50. Verdict: recommended (somewhat). At $10.50 a piece, this Antoinette is on the higher end of the cake market. This is especially so given that this cake is really quite small. But despite this, there remains 2 reasons why you should/would want to visit Antoinette for this chocolate cake. First, the ambience is really quite amazing. Antoinette is a small quaint elegant french-styled cafe nestled within mandarin gallery. Need I say more? Secondly, the quality of the cake itself is 😍. There are multiple layers within this cake that complement each other very well. There is the soft and creamy mousse layer, and then the soft sponge cake textured layer, and then the biscuity layer. Resting atop the cake is a ball filled with berry compote that will flow out when the ball is poked. Overall it is recommended despite its price.

Price: $18.80 (set lunch). Verdict: recommended. Japanese cuisine is extremely prevalent in singapore, but to find a restaurant that is decently priced and has good quality food is not easy. Sumiya, and in particular this chirashi don set lunch, stands out as one of the few that fulfills both criteria. First, price-wise, it is extremely value for money. At $18.80 you get a chirashi don, chawamushi, salad, miso soup, mochi desert, green tea, and some small side appetizer. And unlike some restaurants that try to recoup losses by giving customers mini-sized versions of everything, this restaurant has (thankfully) avoided such sharp practices. Secondly, quality-wise, the dishes though not top grade are actually very decent. The sashimi cubes (comprising salmon and tuna) are quite fresh, and the avocado was soft but not mushy. The mochi also stands out; the skin was just right - soft but not too thick, and the black sesame filling was also in good proportion - decently flowing and sweet but not artificially or excessively so. Perhaps my only gripe with this meal is the chawamushi that is slightly lack-luster in taste and texture, but all things considered, it is really a non-issue. In conclusion, it is a set meal that is satisfying for both your tummy and your wallet. So do drop by for their set lunch if you are in orchard, craving from some jap food, but don't know where to go without bursting your wallet!

Price:~$7. Verdict: recommended (particularly if you are hungry). This chicken burrito from stuff'd is huge in portion, generous in quantity, and extremely value for money. The taste of it while not top class exceeds the standard one would expect from a takeaway burrito outlet. You can adjust the ingredients within your burrito to create the burrito you want. Stuff'd allows you to choose between 2 kinds of meat (chicken and beef), vege, unlimited amount of sides (humus, sweet corn etc), and 2 sauces. It is evidently subway inspired but better. The texture of the wrap was firm but not too hard, the meat was well-seasoned but not too salty, the vege was fresh, and the sides were refreshing because they are unlike what you'll usually get at subway. It is overall a really large portion and it is recommended that you share with someone if you are not a big eater or if you are not feeling particularly hungry
